Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow went on a 21-month long crime spree along with the “Barrow Gang” in the 1930s, committing 12 murders and many robberies, car thefts, and kidnappings. On May 23rd, 1934, the couple was ambushed with over 100 bullet holes marking their car, which is on display in Nevada to this day. After their deaths, a movie was released about the couple, romanticizing their lives and crimes - but they were bandits and serial killers that are still referenced to this day. Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow were Depression Era outlaws who are just known by their first names. They have been romanticized as young lovers who stood by each other and lived life on their own terms. But in reality, Clyde was a thief and a murderer and Bonnie was his willing accomplice. For just over two years they went on a crime spree in the early 1930s robbing and killing. They were finally stopped when a 6 man posse headed by a former Texas Ranger shot and killed them with over 100 bullets, execution style, on a country road in Louisiana.
See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

You've likely heard of the outlaws Bonnie and Clyde, but can you name one thing about them? When Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker met in 1930, they were two young adults from families struggling with poverty in Depression-era Texas. Already committing crimes, Clyde was soon incarcerated for vehicle theft. The two wrote to each other often while he was in prison, with Bonnie even aiding his short-lived escape. When Clyde officially got out of prison in February 1932, the two traveled the country with other members of the Barrow Gang, robbing small businesses, kidnapping and murdering. In this episode, we explore who Bonnie and Clyde actually were and the grim truth behind the legend. But first, Zoey's here with her Something Southern: the Possum Drop!CW: sexual assault.Sources: https://hauntedhospitality.wordpress.com/2023/11/14/ep-137-bonnie-clydeVisit us on Social Media! Beginning in 1932 the Barrow Gang, a criminal group, ravaged a depression smitten mid-west America and in 1967 a film captured the exploits of the gang responsible for robbing countless small stores and even a few banks. We talk about that groundbreaking film, Bonnie and Clyde. Next we go international with one of the two […]

Blazing down back roads and running from the law, notorious criminals Bonnie and Clyde fled many crime scenes on these Arkansas roads.
On the second part of our series, we cover the so-called good times of Bonnie and Clyde, from the many blunders of their early years in the Barrow Gang and the murders that occurred as a result of their actions to the shootout that made them famous.
You know what you done there ? You told my story » « Tu sais ce que tu as fait là ? Tu as raconté mon histoire.

Some day they’ll go down togetherAnd they’ll bury them side by sideTo few it’ll be grief, to the law a reliefBut it’s death for Bonnie and Clyde.
(Christine) The love story of infamous American outlaw pair Bonnie and Clyde is cemented in modern pop culture- but they were not the only couple in the Barrow Gang. Clyde’s older brother, Buck, and his wife, Blanche, often traveled with their relatives and had a dynamic (and tragic) love story of their own. This week, Christine delves into the outlaw romance of the American depression era that is barely mentioned in the folk ballads and Hollywood films.
