On this installment of the show we sit with DeVante Henton, a young man who took a shot from an AK-47 and lived to tell about it. He is hoping to parlay his unfortunate experience into the avenue of public speaking so he can tell his cautionary tale of survival. DeVante has valuable life experience and I do believe that he is well on his way to making this dream a reality. Thank you for tuning into this episode of the podcast and all of your continued support.

When Kevion Speaks, healing happens in real time. Seriously. Just listen to these words that come about in our conversation in the way they come about. Kevion is a Word Master, a Weaver of Spells, a Master Teacher and Provider of Nature Medicine. He is a practicing shamanic healer and he conducts personal and group ceremony leveraging sound, energy medicine, and nature to help people heal. He is also a public grade school teacher who helps connect children with holistic and organic food production practices! His wisdom transcends his years, while his skillset transcends all labels. Above all else, Kevion is just a beautiful human.   It isn't too long before we are taken into a deep Flow State discussing the nature of our own healing journeys, our ritualistic lifestyles, the nature of struggle and lessons discerned from within our relationships, the importance of stillness and introspection, and what human relating might have looked like in times of prehistory when the divine duality within each of us was more freely expressed than it is today. And thats just like the first half hour!! We also dive into: Lessons from our elders and contentment in a simple life well lived The romanticizing of trauma work and distortion of life through the experience of screening technology The depth of connection and access to Wisdom we can achieve in ritualistic interaction with nature The value of teaching our children what real food looks like and where it comes from  Kevion's experience of getting to bring his light and ecological wisdom to suburban grade school classrooms where he teaches an interactive program on Agricultural Science and Technology.  Show Notes: You can find Kevion https://www.instagram.com/kevion.devante/ (@kevion.devante) on instagram Check our our two prior conversations here on the concept of Peace, sound healing, tantra, and sex magic: https://www.foragerhealthinitiative.com/podcast/sexmagic (https://www.foragerhealthinitiative.com/podcast/sexmagic) https://www.foragerhealthinitiative.com/podcast/peace-with-kevion-devante (https://www.foragerhealthinitiative.com/podcast/peace-with-kevion-devante) Time Markers: @6:02 - 20:54 Introductions, The Struggles of Deepening Your Spiritual Practice, and Unconventional Thoughts on Healing & Relationships @20:54 - 34:45 Intimacy and Consideration as Normalcy, and Finding a Place of Compassion @34:45 - 43:06 The Retaliation of an Isolation Virus, Making Love a Priority in Your Life, and Exploring the Adult Human Psyche @43:06 - 52:21 Simplicity in the Darkness - Disconnected People Don't Have to Feel, and Connected People Don't Have a Choice but to Search for Feeling @52:21 - 1:07:14 Looking for a Simple Life Well Lived - Lessons from Relating With and Consideration of Our Elders and Young Ones  @1:07:14 - 1:11:58 The Screening and Distortion of Life by Way of Duality and the Romanticizing of Confronting Your Darkness @1:11:58 - 1:22:20 Being a Glitch in the System and Guiding Young Ones to Walk their Own Path @1:22:20 - 1:44:11 Kevion's Experience of Sharing Nature, Wisdom, and Compassion with the Next Generation as a grade school teacher @1:44:11 - End - Kevion's Methods and Philosophy for Connecting with Nature

In this episode both Jude Gorini, an Intuitive Coach, and Leela Davis, a Creative Wellness Coach, dive into their interview with Sifu Devante' Love, Kungfu Master and founder of Healing Kung Fu, Witch and Doctorate Student of Columbia. WHAAAAAAT? Many minds were blown by this interview. We are often taught that when we are dealt difficult hands in life, especially regarding societal/cultural oppressions like racism, sexism, or homophobia that has few options to address it. Societal pressures encourage us to put up and shut up, squelching our spirits and souls in order to avoid dangerous pushback. Or activist culture encourages us to aggressively fight out in the open, making us and even our families and friends potential targets of any number of negative responses from violent words and acts to financial deprivation. Devante' tells fascinating stories about he shapeshifted through obstacles related to his coming out at 12, discovering the roots of slavery associated with his birth surname, and coming to term with psychic abilities he found disorienting in his youth. Sifu seamlessly weaves all of these stories and more showing how he LIVES the role of an activist of imagination. He shows how the most power you can hold is the ability to RE-imagine your life. Check out this magical episode where Sifu shares some of his "secret psychic sauce" regarding his 1 to 1 sessions and poetic embodiment while leading Kung Fu Classes. Spring Game - Offense starts at 1:00 It's been so long since there was a spring game we could actually talk about. Instead of a punting exhibition we got Donovan Edwards and Blake Corum smack-talking each other from across the field. It was fun. Davis Warren looked to be functional, Bowman maybe not as much. Yes, Alex Orji's name is pronounced the way you think it is. Mullings might be the closest to replacing Hassan Haskins as the power back (Wisconsin recruited him for running back, after all). Idaho... Almost impossible to grade the offensive line based on how much it was mixed around but the starting five are probably decided anyways. Comment below if you think Seth should UFR the Spring Game! [The rest of the writeup and the player after THE JUMP] 2. Spring Game - Defense starts at 27:13 All eyes on Will Johnson and Mike Sainristil, who both looked good. Going to need the corners to step up this year. Not sure if there's anyone to replace Dax Hill in the slot, it might be Sainristil. Have yet to see McBurrows who is still recovering from injury. Hill-Green looks to be atop the linebackers (he got pulled early meaning he's a guy). Back-up linebackers are pretty meh. If Brian was a walk-on QB he would wear 37 so that if he completed one pass he would be the best #37 of all time. In general, the defensive line did not get obliterated which is encouraging. Mason Graham might be Ryan Glasgow 2.0. Raequan Williams is the MSU player Seth can't remember. Derrick Moore is on his way to be a player. Braiden McGregor got mauled by the tight ends. Moten looked like more of a leader at safety. 3. Hot Takes and Basketball starts at 51:40 Takes hotter than Caleb Love merchandise and NIL rights. Double pass should be the flea flicker of 2022 - Brian wants a flea flicker hook and ladder. DeVante' Jones has declared for the NBA draft but Hunter Dickinson has not. Moussa would likely get drafted if he goes, Hunter might not. Michigan needs shooters from the portal. Kansas State combo guard Nijel Pack is someone to keep an eye out for in the transfer portal but he'll be heavily recruited by everyone. Seth thinks Michigan men's basketball has some of the best coaches in the Big Ten, the team was limited by shooting and roster mis-management. 4. U.S. Soccer starts at 1:34:22 Brian has run out of things to talk about and has decided to talk about U.S. Soccer and the World Cup. How many times will Brian say "Michigan" instead of "U.S."? U.S. plays great at home but not on the road. Can the U.S. handle the climate? Brian expresses heavy feelings about Clemens. Michigan comes into this game as one of the worst defenses in the country in terms of generating turnovers - they had 11, almost one in five of Ohio State's possessions. Despite no Juwan Howard, Hunter Dickinson, adverse whistles, and Caleb Houston in "road mode", they pull a win out. Brian knows a surprising amount about Joey Brunk. Encouraging play from the freshmen off the bench, especially Bufkin's dagger three.  [The rest of the writeup and the player after THE JUMP] 2. Iowa starts at 21:55 Iowa shot 58% from three ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Keegan Murray and Kris Murray account for 42 of Iowa's points, Michigan can cover one of them but not both. Diabete had 28 points in the first Iowa game, only four in this one.  3. Reflecting on the Regular Season starts at 32:45 Michigan was a pre-season top five team and ended up on the bubble all season until now. What happened? Michigan had the #3 toughest schedule in America. Michigan finishes #31 in Kenpom, Big Ten Champion Wisconsin finishes #30. DeVante' Jones needed time to adjust to the Big Ten. Frankie Collins didn't shoot as well as expected most of the season. Caleb Houston was supposed to be a wing but ended up being a forward. Moussa Diabete exceeded expectations on offense but wasn't there on defense. Brandon Johns seemed to disappear this season. There are no real wings on this roster.  4. Hockey vs Michigan State starts at 54:02 What does Michigan have to do to get hockey muppets?? Brian showed up to the second game five minutes late and it was already 2-0. Is there anything else to say other than "Michigan State is bad"? Some guys got their first goals which was a nice thing to have. Children of Yost didn't even do the chant after the 8th goal in the second game. Michigan gets Notre Dame next - the team that has been Michigan kryptonite all season. Michigan could possibly pass Minnesota State for the #1 overall seed. Ohio State might not make the tournament at all now. Throughout the season, Land-Grant Holy Land will be bringing you uncut audio primarily from Ohio State press conference, but also from individual interview sessions. During this episode, we heard from the head coaches of both Ohio State and Michigan as well as select players following Michigan's 75-69 victory over the Buckeyes on senior day in Columbus. The conversation on Michigan's end mostly focused on adjustments they made following their loss to the Buckeyes last month in Ann Arbor. The conversation for Ohio State consisted of more shrugs, “I'm not sures”, and saying that they simply “did not bring the necessary focus and effort” for today's game. Ohio State shot 48% as a team, but turnovers and defensive rebounding kept the ball out of their hands for more time than they would have liked. Phil Martelli complimented Ohio State's fans, saying that it was a “Very cool atmosphere” in the Schottenstein Center on Sunday. He gave credit to the entire Michigan coaching staff for the win, and noted that it took a detailed plan to prepare for “Chris Holtmann's brilliant offensive mind.” Holtmann pointed at himself after the loss, saying that a lack of effort, preparation, and hustle falls on him. He gave the Wolverines credit for knocking down some big shots, especially guys like Kobe Bufkin and DeVante' Jones who typically are not lights-out shooters. In a very unsurprising development, Franz Wagner has announced that he will enter the NBA Draft. The 6-10 sophomore built up his body, sharpened his handle and became a defensive stopper this past season and is oozing potential. All of those traits have him looking like a lottery pick. Losing a player like Wagner isn't awesome, but the overall state of Michigan basketball is. Juwan Howard has been outstanding in just about every way and he's got the No. 1 recruiting class in the country coming in next year. Throw Coastal Carolina graduate transfer point guard DeVante' Jones into the mix, and Howard and Co. will very likely be in position to repeat as Big Ten champs. Jamie Morris and Dennis Fithian invited me onto The M Zone to talk about all of that and more earlier today.
