Gio has no idea what to expect from the Mets the rest of the season. The good news is they're still in a playoff position. A woman calls in to see if Boomer is going to the Bengals Ring of Honor game, as she has tickets. Boomer said he thinks he is going. Jerry returns for an update, but first we got to watch some of the footage from Skratch from our match at Pebble Beach. Jerry starts with the sounds of the Chargers beating the Raiders as Geno Smith was picked 3 times. Jim Harbaugh talked about having ‘multiple guys open' on every down. The Bucs came back to beat the Texans. Aaron Glenn met the media after watching the tape and talked about the loss to Buffalo. Brian Daboll was asked about the soft defensive coverage that let Dallas score to tie the game with seconds to play. JJ McCarthy is out this week and it could be 2-4 weeks. The Yankees were shutout in Minnesota, 7-0. The Phillies clinched the N.L. East. In the final segment of the hour, the Dolphins are a 12 point underdog against the Bills and it's only week 3. If they get whooped in Buffalo, Gio thinks they could fire Mike McDaniel. We talked more about Tom Brady being in the Raider's coach's booth last night. He's doing the Bears/Cowboys game this week and then the Bears play the Raiders. Boomer said Ben Johnson shouldn't talk to him.

Hour 1 We started with love for Baker Mayfield and the disbelief of what the Browns did when they got rid of him for Deshaun Watson. Boomer loves him some Tom Brady, but him sitting up in the Raider's coach's booth with headsets on is ‘B.S.' Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with the sounds of the Chargers beating the Raiders. We heard from Jim Harbaugh after the game. The Bucs beat the Texans in the early game. Aaron Glenn talked to the media and compared the Jets to building Legos. Brian Daboll talked about having to be better all around. The Yankees were shutout in Minnesota, 7-0. The Mets host the Padres tonight. In the final segment this hour, we talked about the injury to Joe Burrow and rumored quarterbacks for them. Hour 2 Gio has no idea what to expect from the Mets the rest of the season. The good news is they're still in a playoff position. Hour 3 It should piss the Mets off that they were leading the division earlier in the year and last night the Phillies were celebrating the NL East title yet again. I guess it's possible for the Mets to catch fire the rest of the season and into the playoffs. A caller thinks Brian Daboll's approach to the media will get him fired. We also talked about the resurgence of Daniel Jones in Indianapolis. Gio wonders how Boomer thinks Carson Wentz will play this week for the Vikings. Jim Irsay's daughter has been on the sidelines with a headset on and a clipboard. Gio wonders what's on her clipboard. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Chargers beating the Raiders. Pete Carroll was asked about Tom Brady's involvement with the Raiders coaches. The Bucs came back to beat the Texans in the final seconds of the game. Todd Bowles talked about the Bucs run game. Aaron Glenn met the media and talked about the ‘outside noise' and said this isn't ‘instant coffee' and that things take time. Adam Schein talked about how bad the Bears are, considering he thought they would be good this year. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer did change out the coffee in the back and then he told us Robert Redford and Eddie Giacomin passed away. Hour 4 Gio wonders what's worse, decaf coffee or non-alcoholic beer. We took a lot of calls from people who drink decaf and want to fight Gio about it. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with the sounds of the Chargers beating the Raiders to improve to 2-0. Jim Harbaugh talked about it being a ‘blue collar game'. Aaron Glenn met the media and compared the season to Legos. He also said a season is not ‘instant coffee'. In the past Robert Saleh called the NFL an ‘instant coffee' world. RUNDOWN   Nugget ice machines, clinking noises, and bizarre celebrity rumors (yes, even LeAnn Rimes' teeth). The warm-up turns nostalgic as the show celebrates musical birthdays for Billy Ray Cyrus, Gene Simmons, and Elvis Costello. And what about the chaos of late August sports: college football's return, the NFL looming, and the Mariners somehow both collapsing and contending at the same time? Hotshot recounts the fantasy football fiasco that ended his playing days back in 2007, while Mitch embraces his role as a “passionate pessimist” when it comes to Seattle baseball. And through it all, one bright spot remains—Brian Woo quietly posting Cy Young–level consistency, even if the voters never notice. Mitch interviews Nancy King, who was just 16 when a family trip to Seattle in August 1964 turned into the story of a lifetime. From checking into the Beatles' hotel, to a chance encounter with a Liverpool journalist, to being ushered into a private room where she spent 30 unforgettable minutes with John, Paul, George, and Ringo — Nancy recounts how one magical evening reshaped her life and inspired decades of storytelling. CBS analyst and Rose Bowl–winning coach Rick Neuheisel joins Mitch to open another season of weekly college football chats, breaking down the new 12-team playoff format, the looming SEC and Big Ten power plays, and the frenzy around Arch Manning's Texas debut in Columbus. He weighs in on Washington's year-two outlook under Jedd Fisch, Heisman dark horses, and makes his first official “Rick's Pick” of 2025 — with Oregon and LSU circled for January glory. Mitch welcomes back Joe Doyle and Brady Farkas for episode 348 of this Mariners No-Table segment, where the trio dissects Seattle's uneven road trip, a roster struggling against lefties, and what Cal Raleigh's historic home run pace means for the franchise. With Padres, Guardians, and Rays looming, the group debates roster moves, Harry Ford's September call-up chances, and whether the Mariners are missing their moment to bury Houston.   GUESTS   Nancy King | Eyewitness to the Beatles' 1964 Seattle stay and lifelong storyteller of that night at the Edgewater Hotel Rick Neuheisel | CBS College Football Analyst, Former Head Coach & Rose Bowl Champion Brady Farkas | Host, Refuse to Lose Podcast (Mariners on SI) Joe Doyle | MLB Draft & Mariners Analyst, Over Slot Substack   TABLE OF CONTENTS   0:00 | From Nugget Ice to Beatles Nights 21:56 | Passionate Pessimists, Fantasy-Free Since '07, and Mariners in the Madness 35:30 | GUEST: Nancy King; From North Dakota to the Edgewater: A Teenager's Night With the Beatles 1:05:25 | GUEST: Rick Neuheisel; Kicks Off College Football: Playoff Paths, Arch Madness, and Husky Hopes 1:34:28 | GUEST: Mariners No-Table; Mariners No-Table: Clunky Rosters, Cal Raleigh's Power Surge, and a Crucial Week Ahead 2:02:21 | Other Stuff Segment: Chinese Taipei wins Little League World Series, Issaquah loses to eventual softball champion Texas, Seahawks preseason struggles & roster cuts (Marquez Valdes-Scantling uncertainty), Lee Corso's final College GameDay broadcast, John Wall retires from NBA, Bengals Ring of Honor controversy (Boomer Esiason email & Corey Dillon snub), Roger Federer declared billionaire via On Running stake, Nolan Bushnell turns down 1/3 of Apple for $50K, Sean Kemp sentenced to 30 days home detention, Michael Jordan & Kobe Bryant card sells for $12.93M, Ro Crowder rearrested for sniffing strangers, Bellevue Pickleball Club opening. Hour 1 The Yankees and Mets are back in action tonight and despite the Microsoft cloud crash wreaking havoc around the world and our building it's still a Feel Good Friday. How will the Mets handle Pete Alonso and will they buy before the trade deadline? Steve Cohen was to chase “autumn glory” but will David Stearns pivot that far from his plan? Boomer and Gio can't remember any team that has actively talked about buying as much as the Mets players have the last few weeks. The Yankees need to get their season back on track against a tough schedule. Eddie explains the CrowdStrike tech issue affecting us as well as the rest of the world. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and begins with Pete Alonso's excitement to start the second half of the season. MLB released the 2025 schedule and the Yankees will visit the Mets on 4th of July weekend. Jerry has a clip of a minor league broadcaster remaining unfazed when a foul ball came into the booth. It reminded him of John Sterling getting hit by one last year. Boomer would like to see that happen when Craig calls a Yankee series next month. Derek Carr said he almost signed with the Jets last year because he's a big fan of Robert Saleh. Caitlin Clark and Sabrina Ionescu declined to participate in the 3-point contest. Gio says they made a poor choice. In the final segment of the hour, Gio says that he thinks the Yankees will still win the AL East but wonders if Hal Steinbrenner and Brian Cashman will be aggressive at the trade deadline. They have to be all-in. What starter among the trio of Nestor Cortes, Marcus Stroman and Carlos Rodon can be trusted the most? Hour 2 Boomer shares the Bengals Ring of Honor inductees. There's optimism surrounding the Jets. Not so much for the Giants, who only have a Vegas wins total of 6.5. The Jets number is 9.5. Gio asks Boomer if he knows the Puma. Jerry returns for an update and begins with Shaun Morash saying Chuck E Cheese pizza is better than the best Manhattan has to offer. Jerry has the guys play “which of these was heard on the overnight?” Ed Arzooman went off on an overnight caller who consistently pushes Sal Licata and Chris McMonigle's buttons. Terrell Owens said Tom Brady ghosted him. In the final segment of the hour, callers try to sell Gio on Delaware. Hour 3 A guest to the radio station was on the field for Monday night's national anthem performance at the HR Derby so Gio discusses all of the fallout for Ingrid Andress. We hear from a caller who golfed with Peter Schwartz's sons last night. Jerry returns for an update and tells us Maggie Gray is stuck at the airport due to the cyber crash impacting the world. Jerry also has audio of a call between overnight caller Brett and CMac that Gio referenced earlier. Aaron Boone mentioned that he listens to Keith McPherson. Gio thinks he knows where BT went on vacation. Jeff Fisher told us a Corey Dillon story and today, the Bengals announced Dillon is a Ring of Honor inductee. Boomer's Bengals once attempted an onside kick when leading 61-7. Mikal Bridges and Donte DiVincenzo did not like Josh Hart when they first met him at Villanova. In the final segment of the hour, Gio brings a shirtless mirror selfie tweet of Pat Boyle's to Boomer's attention. Gio wonders if we have to distance ourselves from Pat and thinks BT's personality rubbed off on him when they worked together for a few months. Boomer likes that Pat is a confident young man but Gio fears he's regressing. Hour 4 Gio has us make official Yankees and Mets predictions now that the second half is starting. Boomer and Gio think the Yankees will win the division while Eddie does not. Boomer and Eddie think the Mets will make the playoffs while Gio does not. Nobody thinks Pete Alonso will get traded. Boomer says the Yankees will make the ALCS but Gio and Eddie say they will not. Boomer and Gio don't think the Yankees will fire Aaron Boone regardless of how the playoffs go but Eddie thinks Boone and Brian Cashman will be out. Someone around the office has been stealing items from offices and desks. Jerry returns for his final update of the day but first, Boomer wonders if people in the building who hadn't been around recently could be responsible for the recent theft. We remember Boomer's incident with taking a drink and not paying at a sister station a few years ago. Gio recaps an amazing episode of Dateline. Keith McPherson chimed in on the Pat Boyle / Shaun Morash / Tiki Barber race debate and Gio thinks Tiki would come in third in a race against Keith and Pat. Marc Malusis comes in the studio with some items he “found” around the office. The Moment of The Day involves imagining an interaction between Suzyn and Craig in the Yankees broadcast booth. In the final segment of the day, Gio and Boomer talk searching for golf balls and the Mets schedule release video. Were the Mets referencing Shohei Ohtani's gambling scandal or his massive contract?
