If you're anything like us you'll have a bit of a tendency to cringe whenever you hear the terms 'Workplace Health & Safety' or 'OH&S'. Just the mention of workplace safety can conjure up images of endless paperwork, red tape and tick boxes. However this doesn't have to be the case, and nor should it be. In today's interview we are delighted to be join by the Founder of Key Consultation Solutions, Kathy Clarkson. Throughout our conversation together Kathy shared her expertise one why Workplace Health and Safety is so much more than what a lot of us have in mind. We felt personally touched by Kathy's story of what led her to become passionate about Workplace Health & Safety, and we also left the conversation feeling enlightened about the importance of workplaces proactively looking after their staff's wellbeing. As Kathy shared with us "this isn't just ticking boxes and red tape, it's making sure that at the end of the working day everyone gets to go home to their families a in the same state, or an even better state than, they were in that morning" Connect With Today's Guest Via: https://www.keyconsultationsolutions.com.au/ Get to Know Your Hosts: Declan Edwards - Founder & CEO of BU Coaching, Co-Founder of Invested Impact Co. In this episode I had a fascinating chat with Declan Edwards, Founder and CEO of BU Coaching and non-technical founder of the soon-to-be-launched PocketCoach App. Declan tells us how his background in physical health and wellbeing led to his passion for the mental and emotional health and wellbeing space, and how despite only hearing about the term Smart Cities and Smart Communities this year, he's right on board with the concept. Declan and I discuss how Smart Cities can make people happier and healthier, and the importance of doing so in order to tap into the vast amounts of human potential that is unfulfilled right now. We talk about the cultural impact of Tall Poppy Syndrome on the willingness of Australia as a country and Australians as individuals to act on big ideas. Declan then tells us about his PocketCoach app, including how it was an advantage to be a non-tech founder and the way his team works remotely. We finish our chat talking about the emerging trend of measuring Gross National Happiness, as Bhutan has done to great success. Other countries are now catching on and it's a really interesting emerging trend to be wrapping up this month of #selfcareseptember topics on the podcast. As always I hope you enjoy listening to this episode as much as I enjoyed making it.Find the full show notes at: www.mysmart.communityConnect with Declan on LinkedIn, Facebook or Instagram @declanedwards_buConnect with BU Coaching on Facebook and Instagram @bu_coaching or via the websiteConnect with me via email: hello@mysmart.communityConnect via LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook @smartcommpod

I AM ME AND I'M OK WITH THAT. Declan Edwards is the co-founder of BU Coaching. A platform of Emotional Wellbeing Education that tackles self-help with a brand new approach. I asked Declan on the show because of his energetic approach and our similar line of thinking. It makes for an incredible conversation that will inspire listeners to begin the changes to live their purpose driven life. Declan's specific question was: "How is it that some stumble across confidence, success, purpose and passion with an air of blissful ignorance; and others can actively seek clarity, can journey deep to their innermost selves, yet still feel questions unanswered?" Declan and I speak on his own growth & changes, the realisations that come with emotional growth and the benefits of giving. www: bucoaching.org IG: declanedwards_bu, bu_coaching Show Notes 00.00 : 03.04 – Introduction and Adverts 03.05 : 04.01 - WWO Intro 04.02 : 06.44 - Introducing Declan; top down. 06.45 : 08.59 - A change in approach to Emotional Wellbeing 09.00 : 10.45 - Survival not happiness 10.46 : 14.11 - Pain and Pleasure driven 14.12 : 16.59 - A Black Sheep Needs 17.00 : 21.42 - Substantive Combination of Education 21.43 : 28.28 - Benefits of Partnership 28.29 : 31.25 - Eat the Shit We Sell 31.26 : 38.13 - Stop thinking. What makes the difference between people who flourish and thrive in life compared to those who simply survive and ‘get by’? What are the differences between people who are confident and those who struggle with self-doubt? How is it that some people live with a clear sense of purpose whilst others live out their life feeling, for lack of a better word, lost? These questions have fascinated Declan for his entire adult life and have led him to seek out, study, and learn from some of the brightest minds in the fields of Personal Development and Positive Psychology. Declan now intertwines evidence-based practices with personal experience as an author, Coach, keynote speaker & founder of BU Coaching - an online company that empowers people to overcome self-doubt, cultivate self-confidence and live a life of purpose.
