We're putting our Disney planning opinions, habits, strategies, and questionable decisions to the test with a brand-new round of Truth or Dare! We're taking turns choosing between Truth or Dare and randomly pulling from a collection of questions and challenges covering Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland, and general vacation planning. But which ones did we actually pull? You'll have to listen to find out. The possible Truths could have us confessing our biggest Disney planning mistakes, admitting which advice we don't always follow ourselves, revealing what guests spend way too much time worrying about, deciding which experiences aren't worth rearranging an entire day for, or exposing the planning decisions where we are most likely to disagree. And then there are the possible Dares. We could be forced to choose between giving up park hopping or Lightning Lane, pick one Walt Disney World resort to stay at for our next five trips, visit only two parks on our next vacation, choose between three nights at a Deluxe resort or seven nights at a Value, or plan a trip with some of our favorite options completely taken away. Disney Cruise Line could bring tough decisions involving staterooms, itineraries, excursions, dining, and onboard experiences. Disneyland could force us to rethink how we plan a completely different kind of Disney vacation. And the general vacation questions might reveal just how much control we're actually willing to surrender when somebody else is involved in the planning. Those are just some of the Truths and Dares waiting in the pile. Which ones did we draw? Which choices caused the biggest arguments? And what did we reveal that we probably would have preferred to keep to ourselves? There's only one way to find out. It's Disney Planning Truth or Dare!

#143Josh sits down with Cameron Mitchell, founder and CEO of Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, to explore the leadership philosophy behind one of the country's most respected independent restaurant groups. Cameron shares the remarkable journey from high school dropout and dishwasher to building more than 100 restaurants, reflecting on the goals he set at 18 years old that ultimately shaped his entire career. Together they discuss why culture always outweighs strategy, the importance of promoting from within, and how creating opportunity not just jobs has helped his company retain leaders for decades. The conversation dives into Cameron's approach to goal setting, accountability, leadership retreats, and maintaining values through economic downturns, rapid growth, and even the sale of part of his business. He explains why restaurants succeed or fail based on people rather than concepts, why family and work must thrive together, and how his commitment to long-term relationships has become the foundation of both his business and his life. It's an insightful conversation about entrepreneurship, resilience, hospitality, and what it really takes to build a company that lasts.Links and resources

Send us Fan MailYou post a Disney itinerary because you're excited, and suddenly the comments act like you've committed a crime against theme parks. We lean into that chaos and break down the most common “your Disney trip is going to suck” takes the internet throws at people, especially in Facebook groups where everyone somehow knows the one true way to do Walt Disney World and Disneyland. We start with the easy targets: where you stay and how you get around. Value resorts, moderates, deluxe hotels, and even staying off-site all get dragged for different reasons, even though each option can be the perfect fit depending on budget, group size, and what you actually want from a vacation. Then we hit itineraries and gatekeeping, from “two park days isn't a real trip” to “you must visit every park,” plus the debate over Disney Springs, pool days, and how much downtime is “allowed.”From there we get into the choices people love to judge the most: dining and spending. We talk table service vs quick service, the “that restaurant is terrible” reflex, and why meal planning depends on weather, walking, and your pace. We also dig into souvenirs, buying ahead on Amazon, Lightning Lane decisions like Genie+ and single passes, and paid extras like tours and ticketed parties. The through-line stays the same: plan your trip for your priorities, leave room to pivot, and stop asking strangers to approve your fun.If you've ever been told your Disney plans are wrong, you'll feel seen. Subscribe, share this with your favorite Disney planner, and leave a review with the single piece of advice you ignore every time.

Rather than a traditional party, they chose a magical weekend blending Disney magic with plenty of naughty energy. G shares the seven personal fantasies he sent to the group chat, ranging from a classic daisy chain and an 8+ hand massage, to wet & soapy shower play, slippery Neuru, blindfolded “use me” scenes, messy cake play, and easy morning sex.Nessa chimes in with her thoughts on each fantasy, the emotional weight of turning 50, and how they're intentionally blending their love of travel, Disney, and lifestyle adventures into one unforgettable experience. This episode is full of laughter, honesty, vulnerability, and excitement as G admits how uncomfortable it felt shifting the focus onto himself. Raw, heartfelt, and full of heat, this one perfectly captures why they love mixing their passions with their favorite people.Email your questions to Nessa here to be part of "Ask Nessa".Please subscribe on your favorite podcast platform. You can catch us on SLSRadio every Wednesday at 4pm Eastern Time. You can find tons of amazing lifestyle show on FullSwapRadio, including our show, Every Wednesday at 6:30pm and Midnight Eastern Time. You can do Walt Disney World “wrong” and still have an incredible time. Nathan proves it with a rare solo trip that includes two weeks in the Orlando area, two park days, and exactly zero interest in sprinting from headline attraction to headline attraction. We talk through what a relaxed Disney mindset looks like when nobody else is voting on the plan, and why the best moments sometimes come from letting go of the need to maximize every minute. We start at Disney's Hollywood Studios, where Nathan tries to jump into Lightning Lane Multi Pass late and realizes, in real time, how many rules and timing tricks you need to make it work. The good news: the mission still gets accomplished with Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets. We break down the new theming, how the rotating songs function, and what still feels physically rough about the track. Then we dig into the Animation Courtyard refresh and why the space finally feels open, inviting, and worth a dedicated walk-through.From there, it's Animal Kingdom for Flame Tree Barbecue and a well-earned Nomad Lounge stop, plus quick hits like Expedition Everest and the Zootopia Better Zoogether show. Day two heads to EPCOT for Spaceship Earth, the new Soarin' over America, and a big rethink of Remy's Ratatouille Adventure now that it runs without 3D glasses, which can be a game-changer for motion sickness. We also share a few travel-life lessons, including why an early flight home can be great, unless you're chasing a pre-9 a.m. Sunday mimosa. If you're planning a Disney solo trip, comparing Lightning Lane strategies, or just looking for honest Walt Disney World trip reporting, subscribe, share this with a Disney friend, and leave us a review so more listeners can find the show.----Adventures & Mousecapades is a passion project from Alicea & Nathan Novak - two Seattleites addicted to The Mouse. A family of six. Two international Disney parks. A brand-new mega cruise ship. And one massive question: can you actually make a trip like that work with four kids and come home happy? We sit down with D'Nesha, who went from dreaming about Disney as a kid in Louisiana to pulling off a true bucket-list itinerary across Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Singapore, then sailing Disney Cruise Line's newly launched Disney Adventure. We talk through the real planning behind a multi-stop Asia Disney vacation, including how she booked international flights first, price-tracked shorter regional hops, and chose hotels that made transportation simple. If you've wondered how to get around in Shanghai with Didi, how Hong Kong's metro and Octopus system feels with kids, or what long-haul flying is like when you're trying to avoid turning the cabin into chaos, D'Nesha shares what worked and what surprised her. She also gets candid about jet lag, language barriers, and why crowd culture at international Disney parks can lead to shorter ride waits and longer character lines. Then we shift to the Disney Adventure cruise experience: what felt different on a brand-new ship, how character interactions and crowd control work when thousands of guests are on the app at once, and why the entertainment, dining, and photo opportunities still delivered big “Disney” moments. D'Nesha also shares two critical planning topics families often miss: medication restrictions in certain countries and how visa-free entry rules depend on onward travel proof and timing. If you're planning Shanghai Disneyland, Hong Kong Disneyland, a Singapore add-on, or your first Disney Cruise Line sailing in Asia, this conversation is full of practical tips and honest takeaways. Subscribe for more travel strategy, share this with your favorite Disney planner, and leave a review with the biggest international trip you'd attempt next. You can find D'Nesha on Instagram @raisingbabymerritts.----Adventures & Mousecapades is a passion project from Alicea & Nathan Novak - two Seattleites addicted to The Mouse. Planning a Disney World holiday in 2026? These are the best Disney travel apps you need to save time and master the parks!
We Started With One Question… What Is Disney World Really? If you've ever thought about planning a trip to Walt Disney World and immediately felt overwhelmed… You're not alone. And honestly—that's exactly why this episode exists. This week on the Geekin' on Walt Disney World Podcast, Curtis sits down with his longtime friend Joe… A self-proclaimed Disney novice. He's been once. He's got questions. And he's asking the same things so many people are thinking: Is Disney just for kids? How big is it really? How much does this actually cost? And how do I even begin planning something like this? What unfolds is more than just a Q&A… It's the start of something bigger. A brand new Geekin' Family Masterclass Series designed to help anyone—from total beginners to seasoned Disney fans—plan smarter, stress less, and enjoy more. Travelin' Tiaras — Your Planning Partner If this episode gets you thinking about planning your own Disney trip… You don't have to figure it all out alone. Curtis' wife Margita and their good friend Auntie Judy are the Travelin' Tiaras—trusted Disney travel planners who help take the stress out of the process. Whether you’re heading to Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, Universal, or beyond… They'll help you build a smart, personalized plan from start to finish. Already booked? You can transfer your reservation to them and still get expert support—and it's a great way to support the podcast. TravelinTiaras@gmail.comOr connect on Facebook Messenger And right now… there are some great opportunities for upcoming travel, making it a perfect time to start planning. Featuring This Week's Conversation This episode is all about going back to basics—but in the best way possible. What is Disney World, really? Why do so many people get overwhelmed before they even go? And what actually matters when you're planning your first trip? Joe brings the curiosity… Curt brings the experience… And together, they break it all down in a way that's simple, practical, and honestly… kind of eye-opening. It's Not a Theme Park… It's a Whole Different World One of the biggest takeaways? Disney World isn't what most people think it is. It's not just Magic Kingdom. It's not just rides. It's not even just a vacation destination. It's an entire 40-square-mile world—more like a city than a theme park . With: Four major theme parks Two water parks 25+ resorts Hundreds of dining options Transportation systems, entertainment districts, and more No wonder people feel overwhelmed. The Biggest Mistake First-Timers Make There are two extremes that show up again and again: No plan at all Way too much plan (hello, 3-ring binder) And both can lead to disappointment. The sweet spot? A plan… with flexibility. Curt calls it having the “bones of a plan”— Knowing where you're staying, which parks you're visiting, and a few must-do priorities… But leaving room for the moments that can't be scheduled. The “Geekin' Big Three” If you're starting from scratch, focus here first: When to go Where to stay What to eat Get these three things right… And you're already ahead of most people. From choosing the right time of year… To understanding why staying “in the Disney bubble” changes everything… To realizing that Disney is actually a foodie paradise… This episode lays the groundwork in a way that makes planning feel doable. What Success Actually Looks Like Here's the part that really hits. Because it's easy to think success means: Doing every ride Seeing every show Maximizing every dollar But that's not it. Not even close. The best Disney trips? They're the ones where you slow down enough to experience them. The moments people remember most aren't the rides. They're: Walking into Magic Kingdom for the first time Watching your kids meet a character Sitting together during fireworks Laughing at something totally unexpected Or even just… Being present. The Magic You Can't Plan This episode keeps coming back to one idea: The best moments at Disney are the ones you didn't plan. And that's the shift. Not just planning a trip… But allowing space for: Spontaneity Connection Joy And a little bit of that Disney magic Because you don't have to go find it. Sometimes… it finds you. Want to Be Part of the Community? If you're planning a trip—or even just thinking about it— Come join the Geekin' on Walt Disney World Facebook Group. It's one of the most welcoming, helpful Disney communities out there. Ask questions, share experiences, and connect with people who truly get it.
