2022 March Deep Sessions (2018 Pt.6 Tales of a DJ)  Sixth installment of what will be a long Deep House Series. Our last real Deep House sets are dating from 2017. The main reasons for the hiatus being that to stay within the true colours of the genre, we have to depart from the vocals we love, the progressive sounds we long for and the catchy melodies for which we are suckers for. But then it becomes a Sisyphean task looking at all the Deep tracks we have accumulated in 4 years and just start building a playlist. Opted to simply start from where we left it at,  filter 2018 Deep and solely concentrate on the results. If House is a feeling, Deep House is the essence, the core of that medicine for the Body, the Mind and the Soul. True Deep House is about beats, chords, subtle melodies lines and sometimes dubbed vocals in the background. Deep House gets you there, but it does it by stealth The frequencies are low and do not “occupy” the Mind. At its best Deep House is an immersion and the Mind willingly surrenders. Your head starts bopping, good thoughts take over, yet the brain is fully capable to function not invaded by sounds. A Deep House journey is at the same time warmth, sorrow, cheeky miles and hope. Doug Lazy talked with Matt Nathanson backstage at the Camp Fire Benefit Concert, and they discussed giving back to the victims of the fire.

Doug Lazy caught up with A Great Big World Backstage backstage at the Breast Concert Ever to talk about Halloween plans, their favorite part of Sacramento, and about the rumored collaboration between Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears.

Hip-House got started in Chicago during the uprising of house music in the late 80’s/early 90’s. It caught on heavy and soon became something that most artists had to cater to either through record label pressure or on their own merit, but at one point most relevant MC’s from that time had at least 1 Hip-House track on their album or a remix on a single. After a while it got tired and fizzled out due to super commercialism of the style and the emergence of more gritty/slower tempo hip hop being more sought after in the mid 90’s but for whatever it’s worth Hip-House had a good run and remains a guilty pleasure of the Hip-Hop timeline when it was more about having a good time than having the best bars, with that said peep the lineup though, you might be surprised how many legendary MC’s catered to the Hip-House movement:Featuring tracks by: The D.O.C., Black Sheep, Tribe Called Quest, Stetsasonic, MC Lyte, EPMD, Eric B & Rakim, Rob Base, Twin Hype, Style, Doug Lazy, Two Without Hats, Too Nice, Wrecks-N-Effect, Special Ed, Big Daddy Kane, Precious, Queen Latifah, Monie Love, Chilly T & Lord KCB.

A solid line-up of featured guests, production partners and original material breaking down the musical and cultural barriers between classic house, the big room alternative, and Latin influences, “Time Machine” is Oscar P’s first artist driven album in ten years and is actually the 200th release on Open Bar Music. “Crispified,” the first single from the album “Time Machine” (Out Feb 2009), is a party anthem about international clubbing, co-written with Alex Almeida and co-produced with Davdison Ospina. " "I've worked with a lot of talented people, and that certainly rubs off on you and gives you the itch,” admits Oscarwho also highlights his twenty year production track record before folks forget that he’s a DJ and producer first before becoming a label president.
