The weekend that Liverpool can win the Premier League for only their second time is here and for the 2nd season in a row, Spurs have a say in Arsenal not winning the league by them losing. We also look ahead to last weekends fixtures including Villa's battering of Newcastle, Wolves win at Old Trafford and City's surge to go up to 3rd.As well as this, we have the FA Cup Semi finals this weekend which we're very excited for and hopefully will see City crash out meaning we crown an unexpected winner this year, which is what you want as a neutral. Finally, we look ahead to the other fixtures this weekend as well as the sad news that Jamie Vardy will no longer be having a party at Leicester.Enjoy!Socials; TWITTER; https://www.instagram.com/itsfootballday_ INSTAGRAM; https://www.instagram.com/itsfootballday_/ FACEBOOK; https://www.facebook.com/ItsFootballDayXI/ LINKTREE; https://linktr.ee/ItsFootballDay ArtworkPhil HowellInstagram; https://www.instagram.com/everytimeishoot/

Double trouble semi-final Saturday... Matt Davies-Adams is joined by The Athletic's Chelsea experts Liam Twomey and Simon Johnson to tease ahead to Saturday evening's FA Cup semi-final showdown with Manchester City at Wembley. We ponder whether now's the perfect time to play Pep's side after their dramatic UCL defeat by Real Madrid, how we see the team lining up - and the realistic chances of progressing to another final. There's also a potentially season defining semi-final for CFCW to look forward to - heading out to Barcelona on Saturday afternoon in the first leg of their Champions League tie. The Athletic's women's football writer Charlotte Harpur joins us to look back on the important 3-0 win over Aston Villa in the WSL on Wednesday night and how that sets things up for this unenviably tricky tie against the Spanish giants. There's our obligatory Thursday quiz - and a bonus bit of audio as we hear a snippet from Simon's interview with Chelsea loanee Alex Matos - currently plying his trade at Huddersfield and relishing the challenge of keeping Town in the Championship amid a feisty relegation battle. We'll be back on Monday to reflect on the weekend's SF showdowns AND look ahead to Tuesday night's trip to The Emirates... Welcome to ITS FOOTBALL DAY, a podcast where two lads give their unfiltered opinions on the game of football. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and after some technical audio issues last week, the episode wasn't dropped BUT, we are back and we start by recapping a few key points from that failed episode. Mike Dean hangs up the whistle, Liverpool will meet City in the FA Cup Semi's and Leeds staged a dramatic comeback against 10-Man Wolves after being 2-0 down. This week, there was no Premier League action as we made way for the first international break since November. England won both their friendlies, one which we attended as we saw England beat Ivory Coast 3-0. Keeping a clean sheet despite Harry Maguire shockingly being booed by the fans. Italy lost to North Macedonia and failed to reach the World Cup again, ya'know, despite being European Champions. Finally, we look ahead to this weekends fixtures as the prem returns with relegation clashes and some huge rivalries. Bring it on!Enjoy!Socials;TWITTER; https://www.instagram.com/itsfootballday_INSTAGRAM; https://www.instagram.com/itsfootballday_/FACEBOOK; https://www.facebook.com/ItsFootballDayXI/LINKTREE; https://linktr.ee/ItsFootballDay

FA Cup Semi-finalists Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea experienced slip ups in their second to last league games of the season, setting up an exhilarating final day for prospective Champions League, Europa League, and Premier League qualification teams alike. Chelsea host Wolves while Leicester host Manchester United as three teams vie for two champions league places while Wolves still feel Tottenham and Arsenal’s breath on the back of their necks for Europa League qualification. While Aston Villa will travel to West Ham to see if they can hold on to their newly acquired safety of 17th place while Watford travel to Arsenal and Bournemouth to Everton as all three will risk their premier league survival on the other’s results. We are at Wembley this week for the FA Cup Semi-final between Manchester City and Brighton. Apologies as we lost the majority of the episode when the recorder crashed and we didn't have a back up! Normal Service will be resumed next week. Enjoy!
What a belter from Watford and Wolves at Wembley! A world class finish from Gerard Deulofeu, a luchador inspired goal from Raul Jimenez, and an emotional post match interview from big-hearted Troy Deeney. Man City and Brighton also played. Not to be outdone, the Premier League keeps it tight, and we also give our thoughts on Rube Goldberg machines, wiggly gigglys, and a certain Obvious German. Del 1 (00:00:22 min) Del 2 (00:38.30 min) Del 3 (1 time 11.52 min)
I hate the color blue. I know it sounds like something a 7-year-old might say, but I’m 32 and I’ll stand by it. Football shirts are divided into to major categories, red shirts and blue shirts… there are the occasional teams with other colors, I realize this, but they are the exception to the rule. Anyway, I’ve disliked Chelsea for sometime, given my best friend is an Arsenal fan it’s not hard to image my disdain for the blues. To be honest, I was shocked when Giroud went from Arsenal to Chelsea. He looks better in red, that’s all I’m saying. Anway, Chelsea x2 and Leicester City (both blue) combined to remove Saints from the FA Cup and push us closer to the Championship in the past week. The team’s performance has varied from silky smooth, free flowing moves, to incisive counter attacks, to calamitous defending and 10 minutes of not knowing which way was up. It’s been a testing week, but also a week in which some Saints’ fans traveled from around the world to witness the FA Cup Semi-final in hopes of seeing us lift a major trophy for only the second time in club history. We all know now it was not to be, but to recap the match, the day, and discuss what it means going forward I have 4 separate guests joining the show. I talk with Ben, from England, living in the US, who made the trip to London for the match. My good friend Alf. Jay, who runs the Saints Report, and another friend Jem who does a lot of things including a YouTube channel with good, though infrequent matchday Vlogs. You can follow the guests on their social media profiles below, if you wish, and I want to be sure they know how much I appreciate them taking the time to chat with me. Thank you!
