Gabe Real and Mike Styles are back representing for the team. Gabe sonically takes us to new places and spaces with his trademark mix of funky new music from around the globe and Mike Styles digs deeper into the vintage Brazilian selections direct from the source in the second hour. For over 3 decades, Gabe Real has prevailed as one of Southern California's top DJ's. Gabe has rocked countless dance floors with every kind of music possible. For our first show of 2022, we welcome DJ NewLife whose musical stylings have taken him to play in Rio, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Spain, Mexico, Portugal, the Dominican Republic, London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Toronto and all over the United States. His world travels inspired the creation of the FEX Party (Foreign Exchange) in 2009, a party dedicated to exposing his hometown of Chicago to different cultural flavors in the nightlife scene and solidifying it as an international destination for music. He has opened for many acts including The Wu-Tang Clan, The Ohio Players and Hiatus Kaiyote to name a few. With a hip hop and house DJ background and mix aesthetic, NewLife honors and upholds this legacy in a unique fashion. The most compelling music in our lives often speaks to the deepest riddles of our soul. "Eye of the Storm" by Ryan Stevenson speaks of various storms that have impacted all of us at some point or another. However, I believe the song's greatest impact lies in the comfort it brings to those of us in the middle of our own storms of life. The lyrics bring comfort by proclaiming the presence and provision of God. This song led me to the Psalms this week to seek confirmation of God's character, promises, and presence in the middle of my own storms.
