Presentatie: Robert Denneman

We kick off this episode by celebrating National Fried Chicken Day, even if Bucky the dog's health issues mean he can't partake. We dive straight into "Erin's Tea Time" to spill the drama on an alleged billionaire building a massive, rule breaking house across three bayfront lots on Long Beach Island. To help parents survive the summer, we share two elite neighborhood games: jumping over a spinning Slinky and "Petrina," which involves towing a Barbie behind a bike inside a velcro mitt. We also recount a hilarious interaction where a parent asked Dan to snitch on some unsupervised beach house teenagers. Then, we jump into a massive FIFA segment, starting with our absolute outrage over a French reporter calling Belgian player Jeremy Doku "disgusting" for leaving the tournament to attend the birth of his child. We also discuss streamer IShowSpeed securing a groundbreaking deal to broadcast World Cup matches for free on YouTube. The soccer drama continues as we expose FIFA's "medical" water breaks, which conveniently allowed Fox Sports to sell 832 new commercial slots and make a quarter of a billion dollars. We also shout out "Swimbappe," the goldfish currently holding an 8-6 record for predicting match winners, and we laugh at Cowboys owner Jerry Jones finally being forced by FIFA to use the sun blocking curtains at AT&T Stadium that he has stubbornly refused to use for NFL games. Moving into pop culture and internet trends, we review a viral Reddit thread exposing the grim, minimalist reality of bachelor pads, prompting horrifying flashbacks to living with nine guys in a disgusting college house. We applaud digital illusionist Zach King for declaring a content war against AI by relying on his incredible practical effects. We also break down the Polymarket scandal uncovered by the Wall Street Journal, where the betting site paid creators to post fake $60,000 wins using a deceptive dummy website, leading us into a deep dive on proper ad disclosures and the dark reality of influencers botting their views. Finally, we introduce a new segment called "How Do You Do It?", where we debate the best ways to politely escape a bad garage sale and how to properly apply a glue stick. We revive our "How About We Just Die" segment to discuss a horrifying Texas truck crash that released 24 million honey bees into a neighborhood. For our "New Sport Alert," we highlight the absolute insanity of extreme wheelbarrowing at the Masters of Dirt show in Europe. To wrap things up on a high note in "No Bad, No Sad," we celebrate the triumphant return of Neil the Seal, the massive, lovable Tasmanian seal who brings joy to everyone by aggressively crushing local infrastructure.

Join us as we jump into our new mini-series 'Beach Life and Belonging', and during our all age service, we all contribute to explore how church life is like, like family time at the beach. 13TH SEASON FINALE!!! In this exclusive episode of The Temple of Surf Podcast, we dive deep into the mind of W. Peter Iliff, the legendary screenwriter who brought one of the most iconic surf films of all time to life : Point Break. Written in the early 1990s and directed by Kathryn Bigelow, Point Break became a cultural phenomenon, blending the adrenaline of big-wave surfing with the raw energy of undercover crime and spiritual brotherhood. Peter shares the incredible story of how Point Break came to be from his early writing days in Los Angeles to the moment the film caught the attention of Hollywood. We talk about the creative process behind the screenplay, his collaboration with Bigelow, and how characters like Johnny Utah (Keanu Reeves) and Bodhi (Patrick Swayze) became timeless symbols of freedom, rebellion, and the search for meaning through surfing. Iliff opens up about the challenges of writing a movie that went beyond surf clichés and instead captured the soul of the ocean, the philosophy of living on the edge, and the spiritual bond among surfers and outlaws alike. We also discuss how Point Break continues to inspire generations of surfers, filmmakers, and dreamers more than 30 years later. From behind-the-scenes stories to the deeper message of "If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price," this episode explores why Point Break remains one of the greatest surf movies ever made, not just for its action, but for its heart. Peter also shares updates about his current projects, his reflections on Hollywood storytelling today, and his personal connection to the surf community that embraced Point Break as a spiritual anthem. Whether you're a surfer, a movie lover, or someone chasing your own wave in life, this conversation will remind you why the ocean and cinema are both places where truth and freedom collide. Tune in to The Temple of Surf Podcast and join me for a powerful, nostalgic, and inspiring journey through surf culture, art, and storytelling with one of the most influential screenwriters of our time.

In this raucous episode of the Opie Radio podcast, Opie broadcasts live from Long Island’s chilly shores, griping about a cold snap killing his tomato plants. Joined by Ron, fresh from an Atlanta wedding and Easter dad duties, they dive into a chaotic mix of topics: the Pope’s passing, wild speculation about J.D. Vance as the Antichrist, Nostradamus prophecies, and debates over the next Pope’s identity. The banter spirals into piping plovers shutting down beaches, sardines on pizza, and Marjorie Taylor Greene’s antics. They spar over AOC vs. Lauren Boebert’s bar appeal, rant about Trump’s cult, and obsess over the perfect bagel—everything or plain, with lox, capers, and red onion debates galore. From seal sightings and surf casting to shady music managers and Bozo the Clown connections, the episode careens through environmental gripes, school politics, and Ron’s creepy clown dreams. Expect unfiltered rants, beach vibes, and Opie’s grudging affection for Ron’s chaotic energy.
