Here's a shocking number: One out of eight American adults is taking a GLP-1, like Ozempic or Zepbound, according to a KFF poll. GLP-1s are the biggest pharmaceutical story since antidepressants. But there's still so much we don't know. “We're only at the beginning of what's been called this Ozempic era,” the journalist Julia Belluz told me. “I think we're really just at the beginning of discovering the benefits and the harms of these drugs.” These discoveries begin in the research but are also expanding into how we think about our punishing beauty standards and the blurry lines between illness and wellness. Belluz is a contributing Opinion writer and the author, with Kevin Hall, of “Food Intelligence.” She's one of the best health and science reporters I know and has been reporting on GLP-1s for years. In this conversation, Belluz takes me through what we know — and don't know — about GLP-1s, their unexpected uses, how they are clashing with a culture obsessed with thinness and looksmaxxing, and whether everyone should be on them. Queens, today we stand up against the fear of long, cold winters, Seasonal Depression and the belief that this has to be the worst time of year. What. A. Night. JB Boxing Promotions promised the most competitive all-Irish card in years and it certainly delivered in Dublin's National Stadium. The Rocky Road was there for it all. We hear from a buzzing Podge Collins who scored the best KO of the night when he took out Michael Osborne to move his record to 4-0. Peter Carr beat Sean Murray in an all-Leinster cracker and the stage was set for the Irish title fight between Daniel O'Sullivan and Dean Walsh. We hear from both men after perhaps the greatest Irish title fight at the venue. Christina Desmond was one of four debutants to emerge victorious - the others being Davey Joyce, Sarah Murphy and Danny Fakoyede. We hear from the Cork boxer who was roared on by double Olympic champ Kellie Harrington. Next up we're in Kevin Cronin's dressing room after he finally got over the line at domestic level, defeating Cathal Crowley in a gripping Kerry-Cork clash. Cronin's His manager Mick Conlan joined us too, to celebrate his man's win but also question the merits of the decision against Walsh, who he also manages. Spike O'Sullivan returned after 19 months out to outpoint Mateusz Pawlowski - and we caught up with the Cork veteran. We then sat down to chew over the night itself with promoter Jay Byrne and Paul Ryan, who beat Edward Dononvan in the headliner. Both boxers will be given another opportunity to impress after putting themselves on the line - and you can hear from them at the end of the show. A busy show on a busy night - it's the Rocky Road to Dublin Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Brian Eno's music opens up worlds I love to step into during trying times. And this conversation with Eno did the same thing.Eno is a trailblazing musician and producer who's worked on seminal records by U2, David Bowie, the Talking Heads and Coldplay, among others. But Eno isn't just a great collaborator with other artists; he's also a great collaborator with machines. He's been experimenting with music technology for decades. Long before we started worrying about ChatGPT replacing human creativity, Eno was tinkering with generative systems to pioneer ambient music – a genre that has deeply influenced how we listen to music today. Eno's use (and playful misuse) of technology has expanded the possibilities of what music and sound can be.Many of you emailed in asking for a break from the news. The writer Ta-Nehisi Coates was harshly critical of my response to Charlie Kirk's assassination. In an article in Vanity Fair, he suggested I was whitewashing Kirk's legacy, comparing it to the whitewashing of the Southern cause after the Civil War.So I wanted to have Coates on the show to talk out our disagreement, as well as some deeper questions that I think exist underneath it about the work of politics. What should the left do about the fact that so many Americans share Kirk's views? What kinds of disagreements should we try to bridge? When is that work moral and necessary, and when is it a betrayal? This episode contains strong language.Mentioned:“Charlie Kirk, Redeemed: A Political Class Finds Its Lost Cause” by Ta-Nehisi CoatesBetween the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates“My President Was Black” by Ta-Nehisi CoatesBook Recommendations:The Brothers by Stephen KinzerRace and Reunion by David W. MORNING RALLY LAUNCH. Access the morning ritual with 50% OFF using CODE PODCAST: https://thisisdailydevotion.com/morning-rally-challenge This episode is for the ambitious, always-on, autoimmune girl who's quietly wondering why her body keeps waving the red flag through annoying or unexplainable symptoms. Today I'm joined by Integrative and Quantum Health Expert Sarah Murphy as we unpack the rise in autoimmunity among busy Type A women and connect the dots between stress chemistry, nonstop “busy-ness” (and business), early nervous system imprinting, fascia, hormones, histamine, blood sugar and facial hair too (lol) plus, why “pushing through” never helps heal. We discuss the real timeline of autoimmunity (starting before birth), how both parents imprint into this experience, and how early attachment patterns exacerbate it. From there, we explore blood sugar dysregulation, MCAS, histamine, PCOS, thyroid issues, and estrogen dominance, and why these common struggles compound the problem in women who really love to do it all (or who have gone through significant stress in their life). We break down why protocols often fail, the ‘good girl' script, the powerful connection between the thyroid and self-expression, and how to actually begin healing (hint: it starts with moving your body) and you'll hear why your body isn't attacking you - it's confused - and where to start with rebuilding energy systems, restoring minerals, supporting mitochondria, and more.

High-achieving, Type A women often look like they're “holding it all together.” But beneath the Pilates classes, iced coffees, stacks of online shopping, school runs and packed Google Calendars, many of us are silently stuck in functional freeze. This isn't depression in the way people usually talk about it. It's the version where you're still showing up - to work, to motherhood, to relationships - but inside you feel tired, numb, disconnected, exhausted, and unable to fully rest. You pushed too hard, but there's no time to slow down. Today, with Integrative Health Researcher, Practitioner & biology-of-trauma expert Sarah Murphy, we explore what functional freeze actually is, why Type A women burn through minerals and B vitamins faster - and what that means for energy and resilience, the fine line between “still functioning” and being completely disconnected from yourself and practical ways to start being able to spin those plates with the body saying HELP. If you're tired of pushing, crashing, and calling it “normal,” this episode is for you. It will help you understand what is happening inside of your body.

Most people know how to train their bodies, but what about training the brain? Dr. Andrew Fix welcomes back Sarah Murphy, the founder of OMNI Neuro, for a conversation about neurofeedback, what it is, how it works, and why it matters. After navigating her own recovery from a head injury, Sarah turned that experience into a practice that helps others build resilience and stronger cognitive function. So what happens when we treat the brain like a muscle that can be strengthened and refined? They explore how brain mapping and qEEG assessments lay the groundwork for personalized training plans that support everything from better sleep and stress regulation to sharper focus and long-term performance. Can mental flexibility be learned? How does the brain-body connection affect how we show up at work, at home, or in sport? Whether you're a high performer or someone just trying to feel more in control of your day, this episode invites you to rethink what your brain is truly capable of. Quotes “If you're doing a cold tub and this and that, and this and that, and you're noticing that you're still waking up and wondering what else you can do to improve your mental state, then neurofeedback is going to be something you're going to want to look at.” (12:13 | Sarah Murphy) “Neurofeedback will allow your brain to connect to your body again, to help you understand what's best for you in that moment, right then, right there without the rumination, without the mental chatter, without the overthinking.” (12:58 | Sarah Murphy) “Neurofeedback allows your brain to have more flexibility to be vulnerable with the person across the dinner table, the person that matters the most.” (13:25 | Sarah Murphy) “If you put your brain first, the rest is going to follow suit.” (30:58 | Sarah Murphy) Links Connect with Sarah Murphy: www.omninfb.com www.omni-dna.com Sarah Murphy is the founder of OMNI Neuro, a Colorado-based neurofeedback practice born from her own recovery journey after a head injury. Following my powerful conversation with Sophie Milner, where she shared her raw and vulnerable experience with PMDD, I'm breaking down what the doctors might not be telling you —hormonal imbalances, stress, gut health, nutrient deficiencies, and more. We'll explore how chronic stress and high cortisol levels disrupt estrogen and progesterone, how blood sugar regulation impacts your symptoms, and why your body's detox pathways play a crucial role in balancing hormones. I'm also sharing holistic tools—from nutrition and supplements to somatic therapy and nervous system regulation—that can help you feel more in control of your body and emotions. If you've been struggling with PMDD and are looking for alternative ways to heal beyond traditional medicine, this episode is for you. You are not alone, and healing is possible. NEED MORE HELP? My go to practitioner to help build a personalised protocol for PMDD is Sarah Murphy, from the Potent Plant. DM her here (@thepotentplant) and mention that you came from Healing Honeys and Louise Rumball for a discount on your plan.

Hey you wild women! On this special episode of Into the Wild I'm sharing the recording of my guest episode on Reconnect & Awaken, which is hosted by Sarah Murphy. Sarah is a human design expert, and her podcast is all about living in your full authenticity, power, and joy. Sarah and I waste no time going deep and discussing my burnout journey. I'll go through my journey, from struggling with identity, unhelpful stories, and unhealthy coping skills to finding my faith, overcoming trauma, and taking charge of creating the life I really desire. In this episode, you will learn about: The best and quickest way to heal from trauma. When my transformation started and how it feels looking back. How I became addicted to work and other lifestyle hurdles. How it was hard to separate from what I built, and why I did it anyways. Signs I was heading for burnout before reality sunk in. Final words from my previous business partner and what happened next for me. My breastfeeding journey and why I was afraid to quit. The changes I made that ultimately influenced my transformation. The experience that turned me from atheist to believer. What it takes to level up (and what to expect along the way). How I was able to reflect on and shift my stories, including my money story. How I overcame imposter syndrome and connected with Amy Porterfield. The power in sticking with your goals instead of going for “overnight success.” Why so many moms are afraid to follow their passion but absolutely should. The real reason people talk badly about others. What I do when I need to reset and appreciate how far I've come. Mentions: www.wewildwomen.com/mediakit ______________ Got a minute?
