Margaret Agard, an award-winning author and Christian Mystic, shares her journey of writing books about her experiences with God. She emphasizes the importance of educating oneself, challenging existing beliefs, and letting go and letting God. The speaker also discusses finding peace and purpose by surrendering their life to God, aligning with His will, and serving others. They highlight the transformative power of living a service-based life and finding inspiration in God's love. The speaker also talks about their personal journey of self-discovery and acceptance, emphasizing the power of contemplative prayer and forgiveness. They share a personal story about their son's transformation and discuss their series of books titled "In His Footsteps." The meeting also touches on household tasks, love in relationships, effective communication, and the significance of the website name. Jesus expresses gratitude and looks forward to future sessions on the Dead American Podcast. Bio: I'm an award winning author, christian mystic and reiki level II healer and former executive in the high tech industy. I've written two memoirs on how my life changed when I turned my daily to-do list over to my higher power ( God/Spirit/Source.) When I was in my 40's, I was a single mother of eight children, their sole financial support, working as an executive in the high tech industry, and also had returned to university to finish my last year of work on a bachelor's degree. I was a compulsive list maker who never came close to accomplishing all I needed to accomplish, often waking in a panic about all that needed to be done that I wasn't doing. My life completely changed when I began taking my to-do list to God /Spirit/Inner voice each day and asking what I should be doing. I stopped waking in a panic, got more done, more sleep and less stress. And found my true purpose. I was just trying to get through each day but instead I got the most unexpected, wonderful life of purpose and meaning that I never even knew was possible. I approach this from a Christian viewpoint in a spiritual rather than religious way. I'm a Christian mystic, Reiki Level II healer, and have a daily practice of contemplative prayer, an ancient Christian meditative practice having a revival today. I wrote the books in hopes that others would be inspired to take the same path. Many do, which brings great satisfaction. email: margaret@inhisfootsteps.com website; https://inhisfootsteps.com and https://margaretagard.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/InHisFootstepsPage Twitter: https://twitter.com/InHisFootsteps Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/inhisfootstepsbooks/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/inhisfootstepstoday Pinterest: https://pin.it/3TQLprv Linked In https://www.linkedin.com/in/margaretagard/

One of our many limitations as human beings is our limited perspective. Most of the time, we only view the world from our own frame of reference. While, of course, this is natural and normal, it may not always give us a clear picture.... or the full picture. Reacting to what life presents us from that limited or even distorted perspective may not always serve us well. If we are upset, our view can become even more limited, constricted by the assumptions and judgements that may accompany our upset. What if we could access wisdom that gave us a broader, less biased perspective, providing us with a wider range of options with which to view and respond to a person or situation?Welcome to “A Source for Higher Wisdom”, Episode #102 of Co-creating Peace, a series about conscious communication and conflict transformation. Joining me is Margaret Agard, to share how she expands her perspective by accessing higher wisdom, and how that impacts her relationships with others.Highlights of our conversation include:w Examples of ways that seeking wisdom higher than our own can help prevent or resolve conflictw Discussion of the importance of being open to the different forms our higher guidance might takew Stories about times when guidance from Margaret's higher power helped her to see others in a whole new wayMargaret Agard is the award-winning author of the In His Footsteps memoirs, a Christian mystic, reiki healer and former executive in the high-tech industry. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, also known as LDS and the Mormon church, Margaret lives her faith deeply. In this lively conversation, she speaks openly about learning to hear the voice of God and some of the instructions she has been given. Sometimes they are prosaic directives to invite families to dinner or bring soup to a neighbor. Writing her In His Footsteps series about these conversations and her marriage, are also seen as something God wants her to do. Besides describing her own faith path, she explains some important theological views of the LDS church, a valuable service to us all. Highlights:· In morning quiet ‘me time' she reads scripture, writes in her journal and asks questions of God.· Evening quite meditation is His time. She meditates and leaves herself open to whatever God wants to say to her. · The LDS Church believes that every religion has some truth, but none have it all.· There are three levels of lightness and glory we reach after death, but we must accept Jesus to reach the highest level. · Missionaries tell people to ask God if what they are saying is true. Quotes:“From the time I was a child, I was taught that I had both the right and the responsibility to learn to hear that still small, quiet voice within us, that is God. And to take my questions to Him, to get direction from Him.”“I have done enough Scripture study to feel as if I know when I'm in the presence of the Holy Spirit.” “The gift we have to accept is that we can be forgiven of our sins and washed clean and go to live in heaven with the Father.”“People often hear God, but they ignore Him. They don't want, they don't want to hear what He has to say.”“People love purple. Like, blue skies and red painful things are what give you the purple. And so that's how I saw it, that he can turn anything to our good.”“A standard Christian teaching [is] – all things work together for good for those who love God. But we have to turn to Him. We can either get stuck or we can take that healing.”Follow the podcast! The Living Our Beliefs podcast offers a place to learn about other religions and faith practices. Margaret Agard is a former executive in the high tech industry (one of the few women), the award-winning author of the In His Footsteps memoirs, a Christian mystic and reiki healer. She is also a wife and the mother of eight grown children. When Margaret gave her To-Do list to God, her whole life changed. She began doing the activities that popped into her head, and NOT doing things "just to get it off the list." As time went on, she began to see the changes in her life and in the lives of people around her. Margaret has some thoughts on our themes for this season: Planning: As my mother once said when she was 60, I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. Following this simple, but not easy, way of giving each day over to God/Inner Voice/Spirit leads to finding what you want to be for those who don't really know. Confidence: This path of turning each day over to the divine brings confidence as each day things just seem to work out. Generosity: Every day I am led to help at least one person. We don't all need to connect with God (or what we call God) in one specific way. In this episode, we meet and speak with Margaret Agard, and award winning author of the book "In His Footsteps," where she tells about her communication with God, and how she gave up her "to do list" to him in order for her life to take on new meaning. This "communication" with God is possible. Get out of the indoctrinated perspective of what the word "God" is and into the understanding that there is a power and energy source out there that can help guide us in our lives. There is a way to tap into the communication and begin to receive guidance for what you should be doing in order to bring your life and the loved ones around you more into balance and harmony. Margaret Agard is a former executive in the high-tech industry, an author, speaker, Christian mystic and reiki healer. Margaret focuses on helping others change their lives and finding true purpose by turning their to-do lists over to God (higher power/spirit/inner voice). She cleared things out of her life that didn't matter. The more time, energy, money she was willing to give in spite of what she thought were burdens, the more God freed up her time, energy and money to give. When she was six years old, she met God. She felt Love, Intelligence and a being that she was meeting. Since then, she has spent her life seeking that kind of connection again. Her definition of a mystic is someone who spends their time and is committed to being in God's Presence and having God's Presence in his or her life. She spends each evening in contemplative prayer as God speaks to her. Throughout the day, she asks herself if she is feeling love toward everyone around her. If she is, she knows that God is present. Her story appeals to many who have more to do than time to do it in and want to live their best life. At the time she started this practice, she was a single mother of eight, working full time as the sole financial support for her family. She had returned to university full time to finish the last few credits for her bachelor's degree in mathematics. She slept less than four hours a night and often woke in a panic worrying about what wasn't getting done. Her previous practice of prioritizing and focusing on the "most important" tasks wasn't working. After turning her to-do list over to God, she "got more done, got more sleep, and had less stress." Her story inspires others to do the same. She spends time writing, helping other people and is prompted to make herself available to do what she loves to do. Her service opportunities have included teaching in Arizona jails and visiting Alaskan native villages, by giving God all day every day. When she met her second husband, she realized that there was some healing to do for them and their children from previous marriages. She asked God for inspiration. The thought came: All will be made whole as the result of this marriage. They committed to support each other in helping other people. Her series of books is entitled "In His Footsteps" includes 1) "I Gave My To Do List Over to God and Got More Done, More Sleep and Less Stress", 2) We Sold All We Had and Followed as God Created Miracles and New Hearts, and coming soon: " Love: Becoming One with Parker". She nicknames them faith, hope and charity, respectively. She is connected to Spirit, available to God and she is present. She takes her understanding and brings Love to other people. In this episode, my guest is Margaret Agard, the author of the "In His Footsteps" books. I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation. She is the first guest I've had on the podcast who is a Christian writer, and I was a bit uncertain how it would go since so many Christians are very rigid in their beliefs. But Margaret is a self-described "Christian mystic", meaning that she is willing to explore spirituality and seeks to experience God directly rather than just know about God and the Bible. (That is the key difference between being spiritual versus religious.) In fact, she has had many direct experiences of God that started when she "began giving her daily to-do list to God". She did that initially because she was overwhelmed with her life, and she says that it changed her whole life for the better. And she wants to share her story and her message with others who will listen. She gave many examples of God guiding her in service to others, and that is what could change the world for the better if people would pay attention to our universal oneness.
