This is Draw The Line Radio Show with Jacki-E, presenting the best music from female producers and DJs. Helping me Draw The Line this week it's O.P.Groover, a London based DJ & VFX artist. She's DJ'd at various events all over London & Sheffield and been a regular at Glastonbury Festival Cornish Arms & Broke Britain bars the last few years. Earlier this year she made her international debut at Bass Boomtown in Tallinn. Her first track, a collaboration with breaks & dubstep producer agentCopy, called "SubGoesBoom" was released on One7Audio records at the end of July. Her first love is breakbeat but she does likes to mix up genres and her sets are always a journey through all manner of bassy tech house, sassy breakbeats and dirty techno. More recently she has been exploring a more introspective style, away from brash beats, and the mix she's done for us reflects that. In today's episode, I am excited to sit down with John Waller. John is the former owner/principal of Uncage the Soul Productions in Portland, Oregon. In October 2020, he faced a stage four colorectal cancer diagnosis, prompting him to seek a holistic approach alongside Western medicine, including psychedelic-based therapy to navigate the emotional and mental challenges. John also explored the concept of assisted suicide, which is a legal right in Oregon for individuals with a terminal diagnosis. In an altered state, he conversed with himself about whether he would take the pill to end his life. Through this exploration, he was able to understand the ripple effects and consequences of such a decision.In our conversation, John opens up about his personal journey with psychedelic therapy. We discuss our difficult childhoods and the long-term impact on our mental health. John explains how psychedelics became a tool for therapy after traditional talk therapy proved limited. Take a pause with me for a second and take a breath, cause y'all mercury is retrograding and it's time to go with the energy of this retrograde and SLOW DOWN. It's time to bring awareness to your contradictions, and duality and ask yourself some important questions to rediscover who you truly are and who you want to be. What parts of myself am I hiding because I'm trying to avoid shame, judgment or rejection? What do I believe about (insert your own topic)? What behaviors do I have that contradict my beliefs? Do I stand in my polarity and contradictions confidently or are they based in shame and why? How does my duality affect my relationships? How can I better communicate my duality and polarity to people? Did these journal prompts bring up some new realizations?
