TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ JUAN EVANGELISTA Juan Evangelista's musical style is characterized by a compelling fusion of classic Techno with dense and archaic rhythms, drawing deeply from 90s Techno and the depths of ambient. His journey began in 2014 when he founded the underground movement “TCC” in Córdoba, aimed at advancing Techno culture in Argentina. This endeavor paved the way for him to share stages with international artists, honing his craft and expanding his reach. Seeking broader horizons, he moved first to Buenos Aires and then to Barcelona, where he now devotes himself mostly to production in his studio. In 2023, Juan released three standout EPs that have left a mark on the scene: El Niño de los Ojos Tristes on Default Series, the Dark Matter EP on Enux Records, and the milestone Equilibrium EP on Tremsix, featuring a remix by Jonas Kopp that solidifies his growing reputation. Juan Evangelista possesses a distinct impetus and groove that define his music, resonating with audiences on the dancefloor. Over the past year, he has toured extensively, performing in the USA, an all-vinyl tour in Canada alongside Freddy K, as well as across South America like in Mexico alongside DVS1, a festival in Riga next to Svreca, many gigs in Berlin, and throughout Europe. In August, he made his debut in China, followed by a second tour in the U.S. in September. Filled with inspiration, Juan is set to take off and showcase his sound around the globe. Hailing from Dublin, Aero has rapidly established himself as one of Ireland's most vital techno artists, carving out a distinct identity grounded in the ethos of purist techno. His sound—a fusion of hard-edged grooves and funk-infused textures—has been a driving force on Irish dancefloors for over half a decade, reflecting a deep understanding of the genre's lineage. Aero's productions channel the raw energy of 90s and early 2000s techno, reimagined with a modern sensibility. Releases on respected imprints like Planet Rhythm, Index Marcel Fengler, and Entourage Concept have showcased his ability to craft precision-engineered tracks, built for peak-time impact. Supported by figures such as Amelie Lens, Freddy K, and Richie Hawtin, Aero's music speaks to both the genre's roots and its forward trajectory. As a DJ, Aero's adaptability is his hallmark. Whether commanding a warehouse with relentless multi-deck intensity or carefully calibrating selections for an opening set in a low-lit basement, his control of atmosphere and energy is what sets him apart. With an extensive knowledge of techno's past and present, Aero is as much a selector as he is a craftsman, positioning himself at the forefront of Ireland's contemporary techno scene. Today's premiere is a free download from Dublin-native Aero as he shares a bumping production titled ‘I Know You Got Hardcore'. This funk-driven techno track combines meddling low-end and catchy vocals, resulting in a ferociously energising listen. To put things lightly, Aero has grown into one of Ireland's most prolific Irish artists in recent times, the youngster has carved out a career that is wrapped around the foundations of purist techno. His punishing style of techno has been haunting Irish dancefloors for over half a decade, as Aero's deep knowledge of techno sees him weave through hard-edged and groove-laden techno cuts from various time periods. Aero has played alongside some of techno's most formidable artists such as Stef Mendesidis & Dax J through to SHDW & Obscure Shape & Sunil Sharpe, to name a few. He has built a strong repertoire as one of the most trusted warm-up DJs in Ireland but is also equally versed in pulverising a dancefloor at peak time. Outside of the club, Aero's productions have been seeing heavy support from arguably some of the most influential DJs of our time from Freddy K, Amelie Lens, Slam, Richie Hawtin, Marcel Fengler & many more. With some more 12 inches forthcoming and a mountain of unreleased music 2024 is expected to be a colossal year for Aero. Aero now presents his first release of 2024 with ‘I Know You Got Hardcore', a snappy DJ tool that has been doing the rounds for the past 6-months. The highly anticipated track sees Aero gravitate towards the simple yet nuanced approach to making stripped-back, yet funk-fuelled techno. Sampling Eric B & Rakim, Aero flips the original hip-hop track into a catchy 140bpm groove that is made for DJs. Having started making waves the past few years, Nijmegen-based rising DJ and producer Laura van Hal has been getting accolades from some of the best in the game including Freddy K and DVS1, and deservedly so. Fresh off her latest release on German label Synergie, Laura drops by the series with two hours of music true to the high-intensity momentums and implacable dynamics she's been laying down throughout her sets. Hypnotic yet clearly headed for the jugular, her buildups conjure up the rugged pulsations of tribal blends with the heavy-traction precision of Birmingham-style dubs and deeper folds of ambient-oid techno. There you go for a massive, hectic workout, so ready the gym outfit and towels for you're going to sweat buckets as your mind elevates to higher spheres of consciousness.
Today's premiere showcases one of Ireland's most promising techno DJs and producers Aero as he releases on the acclaimed Dublin-based imprint Research Label, titled ‘Through The Cracks'. This sonically varied composition highlights Aero's capability for creating consistently top-drawer dance music ideal for dance floors far and wide. Aero, who has become one of the most prolific Irish techno artists in recent times by means of grit and determination, is carving out a career wrapped around the foundations of purist techno in standout fashion. He boasts an array of quality releases on Blackaxon, Fever Records, Concrete Berlin and more, now adding a full EP with Research to his already impressive discography. Gaining overwhelming support from artists right across the industry such as Freddy K, Amelie Lens, Slam, Richie Hawtin, Marcel Fengler, Blasha & Allatt and so on. Aero's knack for shelling out consistent releases is infectious and clearly shines through here once again. The Dubliner's punishing style of techno has been haunting Irish dancefloors for over half a decade, as Aero's deep knowledge of the genre sees him weave through hard-edged and funk-laced cuts from various time periods with ease. Much of this has a direct influence on his own productions that can be heard in his latest ‘Through The Crack' release and today's premiere ‘Quiet Mind' in particular. Sublime driving techno accompanied by a high degree of production quality ticks all the boxes necessary for this track. A truly sensual tune that leaves no choice but to move your body. Liberta Records' 34th release comes from an exceptional Spanish producer, Berlin-based Atonism. With recent releases on Freddy K's Key Vinyl and Developer's Olympian, Atonism productions are a powerful statement that is felt through his harmonies, melody, and textures. This three-track EP also features his remix for Vinicius Honorio's Tinderbox, proposing a darker, tension-building take on the original.

We've got some fresh new music from Fuinneamh Festival founder Lucas. The revered producer is known for his powerful and deep cuts, finding inspiration in dub chords, deep pads and textured atmospheres. His track ‘Cosmic Background' is an atmospheric trip through wandering chords and deep soundscapes. Luke Reddy aka ‘LUCAS has been producing electronic music and DJing since 2011. Luke's early years as an artist were not your run of the mill, first cutting his teeth performing at his own events which took place in the forest, open air events and raves, deep in the Wicklow mountains, these legendary parties became known as the ‘Keep Her Lit' series. Lucas disappeared somewhat off the DJ radar in 2015, when his ambitious plans for Fuinneamh Festival year one began, but with DJ sets in the summer of 2019 at EP, Body & Soul and at Fuinneamh we saw Lucas make a resurgence into the Irish DJ scene once again. Lucas founded a new record label ‘Ogma' in 2021 and it started with a E.P. with himself and Snakebite 616 the release received huge international and local support from the likes of Freddy K, Ed Davenport aka Inland, Elad Magdasi, Cici, Cailín, Mylo Spykers, Jon Hester, Taint, Aeron, Diarmaid O'Meara and more. The label will return for it's second release this summer. Lucas has provided a deep and driving techno masterpiece. This reminds me of some classic ‘Function' releases, but has Lucas's own spin on it. A big pounding kick plays of deep and whirling atmosphere, as drifting chords provide an entrancing kind of melody. This is a proper techno. Ambitious and ready to continue his musical journey, Daniele Miladinov a.k.a Modern Abuse stays true to his vision of sound and successfully manages to diffuse his unique brand of energy within any space. His sound embodies experimental broken grooves, profound and hypnotic elements and reflects his major influences from Spanish techno. Apart from polishing his musical taste, Modern Abuse has also been focusing on the development of the local techno scene since the beginning of his journey. So far, he has had the opportunity to be invited on the same lineups with artists such as Kwartz, CONCEPTUAL, Freddy K, D-Leria, Quelza, Paula Koski, Annē, Perfo and to play at the well-known Suicide Club in Berlin. In 2021, Modern Abuse joined Friendship collective – a Berlin-based promoter of art and electronic music that organises interactive events and promotes unconventional techno internationally. We welcome DJ Tool, Hyperaktivist and Nayme who together form the Berlinbased collective Mala Junta. Offering an escape and a safe bonding place for the German capital's queer scene, the group highlight the values of inclusivity, support, friendship and community, and feature a diverse music mix of the faster, funkier, grooving old school techno, effortlessly blended with psychedelic trance and breaks. Their ideals for family and community are further instilled by their strict limited capacity events, making Mala Junta one of Berlin’s best kept rave secrets. In this chat with Nayme, Ana Laura (Hyperaktivist) and Jo-Jo (DJ TOOL) we found out how the three bonded together and became friends well beyond the dancefloor and the events they have been organizing. We explore what it takes to embody and support diversity and inclusion and how dealing with challenging situations is an opportunity to lead by example. We address why we should all be talking openly about hard problems, and - between a few wine glasses and a laugh - we remind ourselves that there is something we all need now more than ever: more humanity, music and connection with each other. Christoph Heinze, better known as Inhalt der Nacht joins us for our next exclusive Home of Sound podcast. Berlin-born, his sound has been shaped by influences from cold wave and new wave, blended seamlessly with elements of the rock music that he was exposed to in his younger days. Having already established his name as one of the most progressive DJ’s in his genre, Christoph has pioneered his own label: Lebendig from which he pushes fellow Dj’s and artists’ productions alongside his own. 2019 saw Christoph’s track “Dosis'' spread through the underground scene of Berlin like wildfire after it appeared on the compilation album “The World of Monom Black” put out by the illustrious Dax J and his eponymous label . Christoph’s eminence nowadays has granted him residency to some of the biggest clubs across Germany including Griessmühle Berlin, Khidi Tbilisi and Rote Sonne Munich In this chat Christoph talks us through his experiences playing and producing techno and also his experimental explorations with theatre scoring in Cuba and eventually in Germany. We delve into Christoph’s past, recounting his first experiences with the underground scene as well the music that influenced him and provided the foundations to his raw and unbound resonate that we know today. We also look at labels and how artists are nurtured around them, and we get first hand insight into how he became resident of Rote Sonne, Griessemhule and Khidi and get a sense of the ever evolving drive of this artist toward fresh and non conventional sounds. Electric Indigo is a longstanding DJ, producer, composer and musician who started her path into the electronic scene in the early 90s and has since played in over 40 countries around the world. Aside from a long string of releases and gigs under her belt, Electric Indigo is also the founder of female:pressure, an international support network and online database for female, non-binary and non conforming gender artists. Her music and contribution has earned her wide and deep respect from the international music scene that has taken her to play in a long list of well established clubs as well as winning awards such as the “outstanding artist award Musik 2012” and the Kunstpreis Musik 2020 from The Republic of Austria. In this chat, we discover the artists early entry point into the techno scene, as she fortuitously interviewed Underground Resistance members, her work at iconic vinyl store Hardwax in Berlin in the early 90s and her experience running a label and playing throughout three decades. We also find out more about female:pressure and their research project “FACTS survey” which quantifies gender composition of music festivals and events line-ups since 2012. We discuss about the many challenges that non-male, non-white artists may face when working in the music industry, and we leave inspired by Electric Indigo’s take on tackling these challenges with open communication and joint committment with artists, promoters and music lovers. Andrew Shobeiri AKA @renewise flaunts an artistic flair rare for his years. Possessing an uncanny ability to create a sound that fuses hip-shak-ing grooves with a raw but modern touch, Wise breeds a deep sense of knowledge and maturity beyond what you'd expect for an artist of his age. His ear for infectious rhythm derives from a love of classic 90's era techno, always being drawn to the relentless energy felt in the faster tempos. These influences can be heard throughout his productions and selections as a DJ, winning him a growing fanbase of peers and music lovers alike. 2018 saw the UK-born DJ/producer leaving a strong impression. A dig- ital EP on Mark Broom's Beardman imprint and his first official 12' inch release on the highly respected Mote-Evolver, run by techno pioneer Luke Slater, gained huge reactions from the likes of Rødhad, Freddy K, Blawan and DVS1. The high level of support has continued into 2019, with white label tracks featuring in sets from Kr!z & Dustin Zahn, among others. On the road Wise has made regular appearances at Jaded, London's Sunday after-hours haven while his Berghain sets have undoubtedly grabbed the attention of the committed Berlin reveler. The remainder of 2019 keeps this young talent busy, with bookings spanning the UK, Europe and, South Africa with more releases set to drop across the next coming months. Rene Wise, real name Andrew Shobeiri. The British producer has already racked up a mighty impressive list of achievements, including releases on Mark Broom's Beardman Recordings and Luke Slater's Mote Evolver label. He's also taken on set at Berghain twice, and on his second occasion, playing the opening set. He's managed to achieve this at the ripe old age of 22, which I think is astounding. His music could simply be described as "body music". Its pacey, refreshing contemporary techno and undeniably groovy. @renewise Rene's bio: Possessing an uncanny ability to create a sound that fuses hip-shaking grooves with a raw but modern touch, Wise breeds a deep sense of knowledge and maturity beyond what you'd expect for an artist of his age. A digital EP on Mark Broom's Beardman imprint and his first official 12' inch release on the highly respected Mote-Evolver, run by techno pioneer Luke Slater, gained huge reactions from the likes of Rødhad, Freddy K, Blawan and DVS1. The remainder of 2019 keeps this young talent busy, with bookings spanning the UK, Europe and, South Africa with more releases set to drop across the next coming months. bomphcast.com

And when you play with vinyl only, we can’t do anything else but agree! Please make sure to enjoy this weeks mix, and read the Q/A: Q: How was the rave scene in Rome in the 90s, and how did it influence you? A:It's been very important for me and all italian techno movement. In that time Rome was italian techno, the only italian techno scene. In 1991 I was too young to go to Rave parties but I was connected with rave scene through a local radio station that pushed all best techno of the moment and informed people about rave parties (legal warehouse parties)...And all this connected with a great records shop, re-mix. I was lucky to follow djs like Lory D, Leo Anibaldi, Luca Chucchetti, Freddy K, etc etc. In that time I realized to love techno and to want become a dj. Q: How do you seduce the crowd during a event? A:I just make my personal journey during my set, of course not forgetting the crowd Q: How is the Techno scene in Rome today? A:I think it's a good moment. There are different nice parties and a lot of great artists in my opinion. Q: Any extra words? A:About this podcast, I just spent some minutes to decide the first track to start the mix, as I usually do in the gigs. I like improvvisation.
