In April 2020, a task force was created to plan a memorial for Neil Peart in a place familiar to all Rush fans, Lakeside Park in Port Dalhousie, St. Catharine's, Ontario. Two years later, this week's guest, sculptor Morgan MacDonald, was chosen to create the bronze statues that will honor the late drummer. Morgan tells us about the constant presence of Rush in his life, the Rush Easter eggs hidden within the sculpture, and the enormity of the work ahead of him. The city of St. Catharine's is currently accepting donations to raise the projected $1 million it will cost to construct and install the sculptures. You can donate at www.stcatharines.ca/neilpeart. Friday the 13th eh? There's an Air Quality advisory in effect for many parts of southern BC for the next 24-48 hours. Air quality at time of upload was 3! To be clear: Alta Lake only has Lakeside Park closed currently due to unsafe levels of e.coli - but the other parks on Alta Lake (Wayside, the L Dock, Rainbow Park, as well as the Blueberry Docks) do not have regular sampling... Be very wary of where you swim right now! Sorry for the late upload: watching last night's meteors must've clouded my head.

And that––damn thing––is talking RUSH! On this weeks show….Neil Peart Memorial Task Force Member Chris O'Connor returns to give some details and updates on the Neil Peart memorial. Episode Summary Continued... John Kane and Dan Bukszpan hosts of the incredible podcast Two Guys Talking Rush risk everything and broadcast live on this very special Thanksgiving week show! Our Guests include: Christopher O'Connor, founder of the Port Dalhousie Supply Company and O'Connor Initiative. David De Rocco Taskforce Chair joins the conversation as well. The incredible Donna Halper pops in as a surprise guest! Fans with Rush tattoos discuss why it was important to them to be forever inked with their favorite band. Awesome! Let us give thanks to Rush. Be well friends, JK & DB The PDSC Backstory... The Port Dalhousie Supply Company is a lifestyle apparel brand based in Niagara, Canada. We connect people to place through our works. There is a real “sense of place” in Port Dalhousie. Neil described that in Lakeside Park the song. The O'Connor Initiative is a non-profit organization that runs community events and special projects in Niagara. In partnership between our two companies we designed the Lakeside Park T-Shirt to honour the Art and Life of Neil Peart as he grew up in the area and was inspired by some of his surroundings. We didn't plaster Neil's name or face all over this shirt as we feel he would not have appreciated that, instead we made a classy ode to him through our own imagery. Willows in the breeze! What we hope to accomplish is to firstly connect people to the upcoming commemoration to Neil in Lakeside Park, Port Dalhousie. RUSH has a global fan base and they want to see Neil commemorated. Our shirts allow them to connect directly to the project, wherever they are! And hopefully bring their shirts when they make Port Dalhousie a travel destination. The City has struck a Taskforce to manage the project. Secondly, the proceeds from the t-shirts will directly benefit the project through the City. Shirts can be bought online at www.ptdalhousie.com www.twoguystalkingrush.com

Edward WimmerCEO of ROAD iD Bio: Edward Wimmer is Co-Founder and CEO of ROAD iD. In 1999, armed with a dream and two credit cards, Edward Wimmer and his father Mike Wimmer founded ROAD iD in Mike’s Northern Kentucky basement. With only $10,000 of start-up capital, Edward quickly learned how to carefully leverage small marketing spends to drive a positive ROI. Very early in his career, and in the infancy of eCommerce, Edward saw the value of building a niche company online. That niche company became an eCommerce pioneer and category creator of Athletic Safety ID. From early on, Edward firmly believed that it’s easier to deliver a first-class, hyper-personal, and human experience in a digital environment than it is in a physical store. A passionate growth-hacker, Edward’s ongoing goal at ROAD iD is to deliver a product, journey and experience so blindingly awesome that customers can’t help but share it. Since 1999, Road ID has helped millions of people feel safer while being active, which has led to countless stories and testimonials from customers who have used Road ID in their times of need. Many of these customers say they might not be alive today if it had not been for their ROAD iD. This confidence, peace of mind, empowerment and impact is what Edward and the team at ROAD iD are most proud of…and most humbled by. Today, Edward has a bold vision for ROAD iD. Rather than being content running a successful company, Edward wants to drive a paradigm shift in safety - to see the day when wearing ID is as common as a seatbelt or strapping on a bike helmet - safety items that were rarely worn a couple decades ago. Edward also realizes that he’s only as good as the people that he surrounds himself with. To that end, he endeavors to create a strong company culture by delivering a product that has deep meaning and purpose. ROAD iD bolsters that core culture by providing a fun/casual work environment, creative benefits, and competitive compensation. In addition to his role at ROAD iD, Edward is the managing partner for both Tri-State Record Storage and Management and Blue Bridge, LLC, a property management company. He earned his BS in Marketing and BS in Finance from Georgetown College. While at Georgetown, he was captain of Georgetown’s soccer team and President of the Interfraternity council. He has previously served on the Georgetown College Alumni Board and currently serves on the board for the Covington Business Council. Edward resides in Lakeside Park with his wife Elisabeth and two boys (Edward V and Anderson), and their dog, Scout.
