Thomas Shay is the founder of the Northern Kentucky Bigfoot Research Group. Tom has been investigating the Sasquatch phenomenon since 1987. That's when he had his first Sasquatch-related experience. You see, in 1987, Tom was heading to see his girlfriend, in Carlton, Kentucky, on US 36, when he had his first sighting. It was 85 degrees out, that day, so Tom was surprised when he saw what he, at first, thought was a man in a fur coat, on the side of the highway. As he got closer, he slowed down to a very slow speed and slowly went past the subject. After creeping by the subject, he felt like he didn't get a good enough look at it, so he turned his car around, parked it on the side of the road, and got out so he could follow the subject down into a field. Moments later, Tom realized that was a poor decision. From that day on, Tom tried to learn all he could about Sasquatch. We hope you'll tune in and listen to him share the details of that experience and several others he's had over the years. If you've had a Sasquatch experience in Northern Kentucky that you'd like to report to Tom, please visit the Northern Kentucky Bigfoot Research Facebook Group at…https://www.facebook.com/groups/488381544566776/If you'd like to help support the show, by buying your own Bigfoot Eyewitness t-shirt or sweatshirt, please visit the Bigfoot Eyewitness Show Store, by going to https://Dogman-Encounters.MyShopify.comI produce 4 other shows that are available on your favorite podcast app. If you haven't checked them out, here are links to all 4 channels on the Spreaker App...My Bigfoot Sighting https://www.spreaker.com/show/my-bigfoot-sighting Dogman Tales https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/dogman-tales--6640134Dogman Encounters https://www.spreaker.com/show/dogman-encounters-radio_2 My Paranormal Experience https://www.spreaker.com/show/my-paranormal-experience Thanks, as always, for listening!

Dusty Ruth is the leader of BFRO expeditions in Ohio. He's also an investigator for the Northern Kentucky Bigfoot Research Group. As you can imagine, Dusty has spent untold hours in the field, on Sasquatch investigations. Of all the experiences he's had, in the field, the 3 sightings he's had are, understandably, the most memorable ones. Dusty had his first sighting in 2019, while he was on an outing with the BFRO, in Ohio. That sighting was the first of two sightings he's had through a thermal vision device, at night. After he had those two sightings, he had a daytime sighting. When he had that daytime sighting, he saw the Sasquatch without the help of any technology. He saw it with his unaided eyes. We hope you'll tune into tonight's show and listen to Dusty share the details behind all 3 of those sightings he's had.If you'd like to report a Sasquatch sighting you had in Ohio or Northern Kentucky to Dusty or go out on an expedition with him, please send Dusty an email at DustyRuth1@gMail.comIf you'd like to help support the show, by buying your own Bigfoot Eyewitness t-shirt or sweatshirt, please visit the Bigfoot Eyewitness Show Store, by going to https://Dogman-Encounters.MyShopify.comI produce 4 other shows that are available on your favorite podcast app.

Retired Intelligence Unit Detective Gary Jenkins interviews author Robert Webster, president of the Kenton County Historical Society, about his book, The Beverly Hills Supper Club – The Untold Story Behind Kentucky's Worst Tragedy. Webster revisits one of America's deadliest nightclub fires, unearthing the possible mafia ties, cover-ups, and shocking safety failures that shaped this haunting night. Robert Webster outlines the rise of the Beverly Hills Supper Club in Southgate, Kentucky, noting its glamorous past hosting Las Vegas–worthy shows—and its lasting link with organized crime in Northern Kentucky. The 1977 Fire and Its Devastation On May 28, 1977, the club was engulfed in flames, ultimately claiming 165 lives—making it one of the deadliest nightclub fires in U.S. history. Safety Failures and Code Violations Webster discusses staggering oversights: overcrowding far beyond legal capacity, lack of marked or accessible exits, absence of sprinklers or alarms, unsafe wiring, poor construction, and inadequate regulatory enforcement—true firetrap conditions. Unraveling the “Untold” Story What truly sets Webster's work apart is his examination of the controversial claim that mafia operatives may have deliberately set the fire in retaliation for the owner's refusal to cooperate—a theory supported by previously unreleased documents, crew testimonies, and survivor accounts. Investigative and Legal Aftermath The episode highlights the State's formal review of the arson allegations, which concluded they lacked “proof,” being largely speculative. Meanwhile, Webster's book earned him a 2013 Kentucky History Award for its contribution to the record. It was the immigrant path back there in the 18 hundreds, and I got a ton of them that some of 'em are still down there actually from they came here in the [00:01:00] 1860s, just before the Civil War. They came to Missouri, but okay, but deep roots there in Kentucky. Oh, guys, the, the book is inside the Beverly Hills Supper Club, the untold story behind Kentucky's Worst Tragedy, and it happened in May 28th, 1977 as the Supper Club right along the Ohio River. We're thrilled to welcome Dennis Pfhol to the podcast for what promises to be an electrifying discussion about the Bigfoot phenomenon.Dennis isn't just an armchair enthusiast; he's lived a life steeped in the American West's great outdoors, camping, hiking, and fishing since childhood. But it was a harrowing experience in 1999 while camping with his family near Leadville, Colorado, that forever changed his path, thrusting him and his wife Shannon into the heart of Bigfoot research.Since then, Dennis and Shannon have dedicated years to exploring active Bigfoot territories, not only in their home state of Colorado but also venturing into California, Washington, Oregon, Utah, Oklahoma, and Texas, encountering intriguing events at every turn. His deep dive into the mystery led him to join the BFRO (Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization) in 2004 after attending an expedition in Mescalero, New Mexico, quickly becoming a Colorado investigator for the organization. But perhaps most notably, from 2005 to 2010, Dennis was a crucial part of the Erickson Project, also known as the Ohio River Valley research location in Northern Kentucky. He spent five years collaborating with Adrian Erickson, the project's organizer and funder, on a private endeavor to gather more evidence and advance our understanding of these enigmatic creatures. This rural, heavily wooded location appeared to be home to a small group—perhaps a family—of Bigfoot, a finding further corroborated by local eyewitnesses.Tune in tonight at 8 PM EST for an unforgettable journey into the world of Bigfoot with Dennis Pfhol on Real American Monsters!

Devil's urine. That's what Dupont employees called PFAS. These toxic, human made forever chemicals are now in the blood of almost every human on the planet. They are found in drinking water around the world, even Antarctica. And they are used in a broad range of consumer products, like non-stick cookware, stain-resistant clothing, waterproof items, dental floss, and even medical masks. These are only a few examples of many. This group of toxic chemicals, perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), permanently concentrates in your body and the environment. You can't get rid of them. In fact, they bioaccumulate, meaning they get worse and worse. The public awareness from uncovering of the truth behind Dupont's misdeeds now contaminating much of the planet is tantamount to this generation's Silent Spring. Our guest Rob Bilott is very much a Rachel Carson sort of figure who has stood up to the chemical industry as the lead attorney to bring light to the dangers of PFAS and its many variations. He fought and won a 20+ year battle against Dupont for the poisoning of over 70,000 people in West Virginia and Ohio. His work was even captured in the 2019 feature film, Dark Waters where he was portrayed by Mark Ruffalo. Rob has continued his groundbreaking work and is looking at the potential of a nationwide class action lawsuit as newer versions of PFAS emerge, unregulated and as dangerous as ever. In this interview from Summer 2022, we explore the history of PFAS, what exposure means, where it can be found, and what we can do. Rob Bilott is a partner in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky offices of the law firm, Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP [https://www.taftlaw.com/people/robert-a-bilott], where he has practiced in the Environmental and Litigation Groups for over 31 years. During that time, Rob has handled and led some of the most novel and complex cases in the country involving damage from exposure to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (“PFAS”), including the first individual, class action, mass tort, and multi-district litigation proceedings concerning the toxic chemical, recovering over $1 billion for impacted clients. In 2017, Rob received the Right Livelihood Award, known as the “Alternative Nobel Prize,” for his decades of work on behalf of those injured by PFAS chemical contamination. Rob is the author of the book, “Exposure: Poisoned Water, Corporate Greed, and One Lawyer's Twenty-Year Battle Against DuPont,” [https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/Exposure/Robert-Bilott/9781501172823] and his story is the inspiration for the 2019 motion picture, “Dark Waters,” starring Mark Ruffalo. Rob's story and work is also featured in the documentary, “The Devil We Know.” Jessica Aldridge, Co-Host and Producer of EcoJustice Radio, is an environmental educator, community organizer, and 15-year waste industry leader. The drive one way lasted longer than the game. His team whipped the other so badly that the game only lasted three innings. And the opposing team never hit a ball close to him in left field. They never hit one out of the infield. And we dodged rain most of the day. Then I gathered up my sound system for a project I'm putting together, and it wouldn't power up. This week on The Whiskey Trip, Big Chief barrels into Northern Kentucky—a land where whiskey history runs thicker than molasses and the ghosts of rectifiers past still linger in the mash. He sits down with Bill Whitlow of Wenzel Whiskey, housed in a restored 1873 brick beauty that's equal parts heritage and hustle. Together, they toast to the long-overlooked rectifiers—those scrappy, bootleg-era blenders who kept the whiskey flowing when times were rough and barrels were rougher. First up: Wenzel's Sherry-Finished Bourbon. Aged four years, then wooed for three more in Oloroso casks, this 109-proof sipper hits with coffee liqueur, dark chocolate, and dried fruit that could charm a priest into sin. Then comes their four-grain wheated bourbon—65% corn, oats, wheat, and barley—with a 112.4 proof kick. It smells like breakfast in heaven (toast, honey, butterscotch) and finishes like dessert with a twist of lemon and a slap of white pepper. Finally, they light the fuse with the Rectifier's Rye—three 7+ year barrels of 95/5 rye, bottled at 114.4 proof. It's hot, sticky, and spiced like a love letter from the devil. Think hot honey, oak, molasses, and a finish of black licorice that hangs around longer than your in-laws. This episode is a whiskey-fueled nod to history's hidden heroes—and a damn good time. Pour a glass. Buckle up. This is The Whiskey Trip.

It's an effort inspired by a teenager, our founder, Erin Peterson met while shopping at a consignment store. Erin overheard the teenager ask a clerk if the beautiful, gently-used gown on display could be put on hold while she figured out how to pay for it.She asked her foster mother for the money, but a prom dress is an extra in life, and its price was out of their reach. Seeing her disappointment, Erin bought the dress for her. As tears flooded her eyes, said she would look “just like Cinderella.” For one day, a little girl was transformed into a princess.Erin was transformed as well. Shortly thereafter, Cinderella's Closet NKY began. Next, we discuss Derek's attraction to football, the deterioration of the sport, and the infantilization of kids in our society. We then discuss rising anxiety levels and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. From there, Derek describes how he has changed through fatherhood and his favorite things about members of his family. Next, Derek discusses why Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati have some of the fastest growing real estate markets in the country. We consider how real estate could be more affordable if private equity were restricted from buying single family homes and the impact of Chinese nationals purchasing US real estate.Derek and I then discuss the new administration and how each of our perspectives on President Trump have evolved over time and our views on Joe Biden's pardons. We end the discussion on having fun, remembering not to take life too seriously, and prioritizing finding the right answer over being proven right. This outro is titled: “To My Niece Mara: On Life, Liberty, & the Pursuit of Happiness”.
