Why Are Pastors Afraid of Christian Nationalism? Is Christian Nationalism a dangerous heresy—or faithful obedience to Christ’s kingship over nations? In this episode, Joseph Spurgeon sits down with Pastor Richard Lusk, author of Notes on Christian Nationalism: Origins and Fault Lines, to answer the accusations, correct the lies, and clarify the calling. Read the article here: https://theopolisinstitute.com/notes-on-christian-nationalism-origins-and-fault-lines/ They tackle everything from Stephen Wolfe’s book to the fear-mongering from soft evangelicalism. Pietism hurts conflict resolution. Dr. David Doran discusses a better way to engage in conflict.
In this episode we welcome Dr. Jean Decorvet and Dr. Kenneth Stewart to explore The Geneva Réveil, a significant yet often overlooked nineteenth-century evangelical revival that reshaped French-speaking Protestantism and left a lasting global impact. We discuss the origins, theological dynamics, and international reach of this movement, featured in the new volume, The Geneva Réveil in International Perspective. Dr. Decorvet shares personal insights, including his family's connection to Adolphe Monod—known as “the voice of the revival”—while Dr. Stewart highlights the fascinating transatlantic ties between the Réveil and American Presbyterianism. The conversation considers the blend of warm piety and Reformed orthodoxy that fueled the movement, its influence on hymnody, social reform (including the founding of the Red Cross), and the broader currents of nineteenth-century evangelicalism. Listen to discover how the Geneva Réveil not only revitalized Francophone Protestantism but also shaped the course of global missions, theological education, and the enduring legacy of Reformed thought. Striking the Balance Quietism and Pietism
Piety is a good thing. It means devotion to God. Pietism was a movement in history that started out well and inspired many missionaries and hymn writers but caused some problems when it shifted people's attention from Christ's gospel to the pietists' own acts of devotion. Learn all about it as Trinity, Sophia, and Christian discuss this important movement with Dr. Larry Rast, president of Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and professor of American Christianity and American Lutheranism.
The rise and fall of dispensationalism is a fascinating story, and a relatively short one in the history of Christianity. From the mid-19thcentury it was a response to the dominant postmillennialism of the time, and an outgrowth of the gnostic dualism of Pietism. It is a powerful story of just how much eschatology really matters.Watch all of our videos and subscribe to our channel for the latest content >HereHere

Our guest host Shaun Fredrickson has a fascinating discussion about the history of American self-government and how it was modeled on ancient Israel prior to kings and on the covenant form of Protestant church governance. He interviews noted historian, speaker, and author Bill Federer, whose new book Silence Equals Consent: The Sin of Omission explains how the German philosophy of Pietism actually set the stage for German pastors refusing to get involved during the rise of Hitler and how this philosophy inhibits many American pastors today.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
"Our Father, which art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven..." Thy Kingdom Come? What does that mean? What exactly are we praying for? And what exactly are we supposed to do about God's Kingdom on earth... here... now? How should I, as a Christian, relate to the culture around me? Retreat? Attack? Convert? Create? Avoid? Control? Redeem it? Condemn it? Welcome to "Kingdom Come". In the final episode of this series, the guys discuss the possible options for influencing the culture as Christians. Secularism claims that faith should be kept out of the public square, while sacralism fuses church authority into civil authority. Pietism tells Christians to keep their faith private, but is there a way to remain influential without becoming tyrants ourselves? Is Christian Nationalism a viable approach to renewing our culture? What are the challenges to restoring a Christian conscience to society? Where would we start? Welcome to the conversation!

Charles shares his background and theological journey, highlighting his interest in emotions and their role in decision-making. They discuss the problem with the common phrase 'love the sinner, hate the sin' and how it can lead to an unnatural and incomplete understanding of emotions. They explore John Calvin's view on hatred and love, emphasizing the distinction between hating the sin and hating the sinner. Charles also delves into the concept of hating the wicked as haters of God while still extending benevolence to their personhood. The conversation concludes with a discussion on how Christians can approach their desire for justice and revenge, seeking God's justice and appealing to heaven.TakeawaysModern evangelicalism often promotes an unnatural and incomplete understanding of emotions, particularly through the phrase 'love the sinner, hate the sin.'John Calvin's view on hatred and love provides a helpful perspective, distinguishing between hating the sin and hating the sinner. It is possible to hate the wicked as haters of God while still extending benevolence to their personhood.Christians should approach their desire for justice and revenge by seeking God's justice and appealing to heaven.Chapters00:00 Introduction and Background03:05 Conversion and Theological Journey05:27 The Role of Emotions in Christianity09:48 Modern Emotional Pietism15:21 The Problem with 'Love the Sinner, Hate the Sin'18:14 Calvin's View on Hatred and Love21:38 Distinguishing Hatred for the Wicked and Love for Their Personhood29:12 Dealing with the Desire for Justice and Revenge37:43 Reserving Hatred for Moral Injustice and Seeking God's Justice41:03 The Importance of Having Categories for Justice and ResentmentSupport the showSign up for the Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/chasedavisFollow Full Proof Theology on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/fullprooftheology/Follow Full Proof Theology on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/fullprooftheology/

Dr. Joseph Boot reveals the unbiblical dualism of Two Kingdoms Theology, and how this dichotomy causes the Church to be impotent in its mission.

Spener, Francke, Missions, Reading your Bible and Prayer! Join us for a delve into Pietism tonight!
Pietism is a deadly poison. It has thoroughly infiltrated the Church through the Trojan Horse of “Radical Two Kingdoms Theology.” Sadly, no one denomination has a monopoly on these doctrines. There is far more in common between the Anabaptists at G3 and the Presbyterians at Westminster, Escondido than some would like to admit.
It's high time that Evangelicals be done with Gnosticism and Pietism.
Israel's former leader, Moses (who was a type of Christ), was dead. Rather than continuing to mourn his death, Israel is commanded to prepare for what is coming next. In three days time, Joshua (who is another type of Christ), would lead Israel (a type of the Church) across the Jordan River (which represented passing through death) and onto “resurrection.” This was not resurrection for the opportunity to rest. That was promised to come later. Instead, this “resurrection” was meant to provide the glorious opportunity for war. The Church in heaven is “triumphant” and at rest. The Church on earth is “militant” and at war.
Resist tyranny or submit to tyranny? There is a divide amongst believers about how the Church is supposed to respond to authority. Getting the jab, church closures, lockdowns, school curriculum, self-defense are all a dividing line.
