Quedan a oscuras.
On the Smoking Syndicate Roundtable 17, the Cigar Coop Coalition tackles the Macanudo Emissary España Robusto. Emissary represents a new pillar in the Macanudo brand. It's meant to be a more premium pillar revolving around a theme of European sophistication. It's not just the look; the Emissary incorporates European tobacco into the blend. Emissary España represents the first line released under the Macanudo Emissary pillar. España is Spanish for Spain, and the Emissary España incorporates Spanish tobacco into the blend.

Seth, John and Aaron discuss their review experience with the Macanudo Emissary España Robusto https://developingpalates.com/reviews/cigar-reviews/team-cigar-review-macanudo-emissary-espana-robusto/
Macanudo introduced a new regular line this year at the PCA trade show in Las Vegas called the Macanudo Emissary España. The Macanudo Emissary‘s first run is called the España and features a special tobacco grown in Spain for this cigar. Here is what Macanudo had to say about the tobacco: Macanudo Emissary España uses a harmonious five-country blend highlighted by a Havana seed grown near the town of Riolobos, Spain. The region's rocky soil and Mediterranean climate yield a rich tobacco that cannot be replicated. Grown near olive trees and pepper fields used for paprika, the tobacco is characterized by thick, oily leaves from the warm, dry summer days and mild nights. When combined with the rocky soil, the result is tobacco with intensity and complexity. This new blend contains many well aged tobaccos including tobaccos for the filler with 5 year aged Dominican Piloto, 6 year aged Nicaraguan, and 5 year aged Colombian tobacco. The binder uses a 6 year aged Nicaraguan tobacco from Condega and a wrapper that is a 5 year aged Connecticut Broadleaf Claro grown in Connecticut. The blend is constructed to deliver a smoking experience that Europeans cigar smokers prefer. Vitola: Robusto Size: 5 x 52 Wrapper: Connecticut Broadleaf Claro (Aged 5 Years) Binder: Nicaraguan (Condega, Aged 6 Years) Filler: Spain, Dominican (Piloto, Aged 5 Years), Nicaraguan (Aged 6 Years), Colombia (Aged 5 Years) Country of Origin: Honduras Factory: Honduran American Tobacco S.A. (HATSA) MSRP: $14.99 Final Score: 89

The 2024 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show saw the return of General Cigar's Macanudo brand. It had been five years since Macanudo had a presence at a Trade Show, but they were back on the big stage thanks to General's return to PCA. Over the past few years, Macanudo has certainly seen quite a bit of innovation. This was first seen with the Inspirado series, but things have gone to another level in the past couple of years. Perhaps there was no better example of this than the Macanudo Emissary España launch, a cigar incorporating tobacco from Spain. PCA 2024 Report: https://wp.me/p6h1n1-sqh

Over the past few years, Over the past few years, several Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) brands have collaborated with various spirits companies over the past few years, some utilizing barrel-aged tobacco. In 2022, Macanudo became one of the STG brands using barrel-aged tobacco for its Macanudo Estate Reserve Flint Knoll. For this project, Macanudo engaged with the Napa Valley-based winery Flint Knoll. Compared to other STG barrel-aged collaborations, this project was unique because Macanudo collaborated with a winery rather than a distillery. Additionally, the tobacco aging barrels used were made of French Oak and were previously used in aging Flint Knoll's single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. PCA 2024 Report: https://wp.me/p6h1n1-sqh

*REPOST - The first publication seems to have vanished on some catchers* The #6 2023 Cigar of the Year is the Macanudo Estate Reserve Flint Knoll Churchill 2022 edition. Over the past few years, several Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) brands have been collaborating with various spirits companies, some involving utilizing barrel-aged tobacco. In 2022, Macanudo became one of the STG brands that would collaborate with barrel-aged tobacco. For its project, Macanudo would engage with Napa Valley-based winery Flint Knoll. What was different about this project compared to the other STG barrel-aged collaborations is that Macanudo would be working with a winery as opposed to a distillery – and that the barrels used for aging tobacco would be French Oak barrels that were previously used to age Flint Knoll's single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.
This week, #ELOsoFumarTakes is pleased to present the return of one of our industry's fun personalities. When Laurel Tilley told me that she would be leaving her role as Ambassador for Macanudo, there was nothing fun about it. I soon learned that she was not leaving the industry - what a relief! Tilley has made her stamp on the industry and intends to take her experience and expertise over to familiar territory. AJ Fernandez Cigar Company now has one of the best Brand Developers in the biz. We talk about her plans, smoke some cigars, and, of course, drink some tea! Enjoy!!
