"It doesn't take money to make money, it takes relationships and ideas. It takes value and exchange. So if you think you have a money problem, it's not really a money problem. It's a mental capital problem, which means ideas, knowledge, wisdom, insights, strategies, and tools." - Garrett Gunderson Value Creation "Money is a byproduct of value creation. Value creation means that we've served someone, we've solved the problem, we've added value in their life. Vision is what determines value. And if we have a limited vision, we're going to limit our value." - Garrett Gunderson Take Responsibility for Your Actions "Responsibility is the key reason why people don't have wealth. You have to be responsible for your actions and reactions. You have to be responsible your next thing that you do, and even for your mindset. And if you don't take responsibility, you can't have prosperity because one doesn't exist without the other." - Garrett Gunderson Links From Today's Show Garrett Gunderson What Would the Rockefellers Do? by Garrett Gunderson + Michael Isom Killing Sacred Cows by Garret Gunderson + Stephen Palmer Click (2006) Multiplier Program JV Crum The Body Keeps The Score by Bessel van der Kolk The Town (2010) MissingMoney.com Dave Ramsey Josh's Trusted Products | Up To 40% Off Shop All Products Biohacking MANNA Vitality - Save 20% with code JOSH20 HigherDOSE - 15% off with the code JOSH15 PLUNGE - $150 off with discount code WELLNESSFORCE Pulsetto - Save 20% with code "JOSH" SaunaSpace - 10% off with discount code JOSH10 Ultrahuman Ring Air - 10% off with code JOSH Wellness Test Kits Choose Joi - Save 50% on all Lab Tests with JOSH Blokes - Save 50% on all Lab Tests with JOSH FertilityWize Test by Clockwize - Save 10% with code JOSH Tiny Health Gut Tests - $20 off with discount code JOSH20 VIVOO Health Tests - Save 30% off with code JOSH SiPhox Health Blood Test - Save 15% off with code JOSH Nutrition + Gut Health Organifi - 20% off with discount code WELLNESSFORCE SEED Synbiotic - 25% off with the code 25JOSHTRENT

It also reached the top 10 of the record charts in Belgium, Canada, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. The accompanying music video for "If I Could Turn Back Time", directed by Marty Callner, was shot on board of the battleship USS Missouri and portrays Cher performing for the ship's crew, wearing a leather thong that revealed her tattooed buttocks and straddling a cannon. Military personnel condemned the video, while some family groups protested against its broadcast, because they deemed it offensive for the Navy and controversial. Following these protests, MTV was forced to air the video after the 9pm watershed."If I Could Turn Back Time" has been performed on seven of Cher's concert tours, most recently on the Here We Go Again Tour in 2018–2020, and at the 1989 MTV Video Music Awards. Marty Callner has directed the most iconic figures of the past 50 years - Madonna, the Rolling Stones, Cher, Brittney Spears, Aerosmith, Whitney Houston, Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, George Carlin....the list goes on and on. The NY Times has called him "the most influential director you've never heard of" and that is quite the under-statement as Marty revolutionized THREE different entertainment mediums - music videos, comedy specials, and sports broadcasting. Marty directed award winning music videos, basically invented the filmed comedy special, and created HBO's groundbreaking football series "Hard Knocks". Truly a career without equal and he joins me to discuss it all. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
Stevie Nicks is not a man, but no one told Marty Callner that before he met her. The esteemed director of comedy specials, music specials, and music videos has spent the better part of 40 years creating magic, both working with and discovering some of the biggest names in the world of music and film. From accidentally casting Steven Tyler's daughter Liv Tyler in Aerosmith's now iconic music video ‘Crazy' to a career changing encounter with Stevie Nicks, Marty Callner has created some of the most iconic and magical videos in rock and roll history and in this episode of Moment 2 Moment, he is here to share those stories with you.
Sometimes you go searching for a career. Other times, the career seems to find you. Which is exactly what happened for Marty Callner. Marty is a world renowned television director who has directed some of the biggest names on the planet (Jerry Seinfeld, Cher, and Garth Brooks to name a few) and learned a ton along the way. Oh, and he also started at HBO when there were 7 employees, and directed nearly every major music video from the 1980's. But he didn't grow up wanting a career in Hollywood. How did that happen then? It involved a three month bender, Nietzsche, and a chance interview at a television station as an out of work 22 year old. What we talked about How his parent's divorce tuned his eye towards the artistic. Why a three month bender on psychedelics opened his creative side. Joining HBO in the early stages. How he ended up directing the world's biggest stars. For more interviews like this one, subscribe to HawkeTalk on Apple Podcasts , Spotify, or wherever you listen to podcasts!
