Thank God it's Friday! The Nightfox is back from his trip to Las Vegas and while he waits to hear updates on his niece, he joined Brian behind the mic for this week's Superhero Friday installment. If you've been looking for a Monday episode recently, you're not alone. Due to busy summer schedules and real life stuff, Monday episodes have been on a little hiatus. In This Episode Hurricane Harvey & how to help The Nightfox got a mattress recommendation... Casper Wave Reading about healthy living... and the advantages of drinking water Marvel's Defenders: We like it Star Wars Clone Wars: Finally finished! The trip to Vegas Know how much Brian likes country music? Like a Hurricane by Luke Combs Like a Hurricane Hurricane Harvey left billions of dollars in damages in his enormous wake. There are relief efforts going on all across the nation and there are many, many ways for you to contribute. On Monday (August 28), JJ Watt (DE for the Houston Texans) started a relief fund to help the community he serves and plays for. In just four days, his foundation has raised nearly $10 million from nearly 90k donors. Watt and his teammates are back in Houston now delivering much needed supplies to the most devastated areas of their community and it's very clear that when you contribute to this fund, the money is going directly to relief efforts. To learn more and contribute, or share if you are unable to contribute financially, please visit JJ Watt's YouCaring website. Marvel's Defenders What have you been watching lately? Even though the Nightfox doesn't have time for such frivolous things as binge-watching Netflix, Brian and I have been making our way through Defenders. As I've gotten more into reading comics over the last two years, I wholly believe that the more I know about the comics world, the less I enjoy any adaptation of those characters. I've been immersed in the Rebirth world for a year now, getting to know characters all across the spectrum, and their small screen (or big screen) counterparts are definitely lacking something. All that to say, I also really enjoyed Defenders. There was a lot of build up, but the reluctant team who joins together over a common enemy is one of my favorite types of stories. Aside from Danny Rand perhaps (Iron Fist), the other three are very much the "I work alone" types. The dynamic between them all shifts constantly and the enemy's plans, though fairly grandiose and reminiscent of Arrow Season 3 in some ways posed a legit threat. Casting was well done, CGI was a little obvious, but on the whole there were great fight sequences with very little gratuitous violence. Photo by Gabriele Diwald on Unsplash

So accidently this is the 200th Episode! Yes it is, we had to delete some of the older ones when we didn't pay podbean good money and then I forgot which ones were deleted, by all means find out which episodes are gone and i will hopefully find the files... anyhow... It's the 200th Episode we talk about the album, episode 15 of Twin Peaks and Marvel's Defenders as well as our usual digressions, I won't lie i very much enjoyed the last 10 minutes or so and instead of editing it out as it's rambling it made me happy that for the last 6 1/2 years we have mantained a very ramshackle approach to audio entertainment. -Housekeeping- Why don’t you follow us on twitter? huh? why? https://twitter.com/P0DCRASTINATI0N https://twitter.com/RDdotC https://twitter.com/GDdotT of course you could also keep the trend going now it’s started and email us at auralpleasurepod@gmail.com and everyone begs for reviews on iTunes, this is not something we are good at, we don’t like to ask you to give us 5 star reviews and a spiel because simply put as podcast listeners we know that, generally, no one can be f**ked. The thing is in the UK iTunes store our last review seems to have been in 2011. If only 10% of our monthly listeners gave a review we would have just over 100 of them by this time next month. To make things even easier here is the link: http://bit.ly/IBYQQ0 Still not up for it? how about you share this episode on your social media network of choice. That in itself is a big help! Cheers Ears!! GD “Grief” Thompson

This week, we wrap up our review of Marvel's The Defenders. Did we like it? Hard to say, really. But first, all the streaming content news from this past week, including Snapchat doing original shows, Stranger Things getting a third season before the second even airs, Lady Gaga's Netflix documentary, plus h3h3 and the YouTube reaction videos legal win. We also take a detour into Joss Whedon's big domestic drama, talk about Bojack coming back to Netflix with a new trailer, and the forthcoming Steven Soderbergh Netflix cowboy western mini-series featuring Jeff Daniels in the lead role. While The Nightfox tends to a family emergency in the city that never sleeps, Captain Influence joins The Real Brian for this installment of The Real Brian Show! That means... Happy Superhero Friday! Lots happened in the world this week, including the eclipse which stretched across the United States and Netflix's release of Marvel's Defenders. Also on the agenda are some tidbits about healthy eating, the data backup software Crashplan, and talking about how annoying it is when gaming feels like work. In This Episode The Eclipse happened Gaming: fun vs work TV: Marvel's Defenders Movies: The Dark Tower Crashplan (data backup) is going away Coffee roaster is toast Out of Coffee Since Brian's coffee roaster died, I received a nice big bag of coffee beans from a local Colorado roaster called Beagle, which I must say is quite fantastic. The building in which the company I work for rents space is also home to a coffee roaster, here in Minnesota, and that process is a quite deceiving. Based on the end result, you'd expect that the whole roasting process would release luscious, intoxicatingly seductive scents. But it doesn't. I've gotten used to it now, but it kind of smells like burning wet hay. Links Did you know Airplane is a parody of an old film called Zero Hour? Yeah. Check out how closely they match up.
