The Battle of the Monestary continues as the undead unbury themselves from the rubble and throw themselves at the party. Will Krivval's earthquake spell aid the party or spell their doom? The Battle of the Monastery continues! Krivval has wrecked 2/3's of the buildings with his earthquake spell. Did that destroy the undead in them? Will the party charge headlong into the storage cave before verifying the area is clear? Will they end up getting ALL the undead to charge them at once? So Krivval has caused an earthquake that has collapsed the buildings including the one half of the players are in! Will they survive the collapse, and what about the undead masters they were fighting? Are they doomed, or will this play into the party's hands? New to the podcast? A little cozy adventure after a previously long ride with Hegels Geist.
On this episode of Running Times, Gagz welcomes living legend Trishul Cherns to discuss his role as a pioneer in the sport of Ultrarunning. Trishul was an original member of the fabled Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team and a trusted confidant of the famed Guru himself, Sri Chinmoy, until 1986 - when he was abruptly and unceremoniously expelled from the monastic life after 11 devoted years. Trishul is joined in studio by his wife Käären Schilke-Cherns to complement The Seeker's story. Originally born Lorne Cherns, Sri Chinmoy named him "Trishul" in 1981, which in Sanskrit means "Trident" or “an ignorance piercing weapon which conquers all the wrong forces of the world for god.” Now, at age 64, Trishul is a multi-day race specialist who has become Canada's most prolific Ultrarunner, having logged almost 45000 miles in nearly 290 ultras, including the 3100 Transcendental Marathon three times! Trishul served as the Statistician for Ultrarunning Magazine for 30 years and in his prime ran step for step with the best in the world, beginning in 1978 when he ran his first ultra. These days, however, his focus has shifted from competition to completion as his sights are set on breaking the 59-year longevity record.

Today, Mike will be focusing on the rise of the Medieval University, which is important because it was largely a Christian venture and university education begins to have an increasingly significant impact across the world. In a future lecture Mike will be talking about the rise of Higher Education in the United States, which is its own story. Today he briefly looks back at the academies that were sprouting up back during Augustine's life, before skipping ahead to the Monestary and Cathedral schools that are the genesis for schools like The University of Paris, Oxford, Cambridge and many others.
After many days on the boat, I am looking forward to hiking again. Walking, running, hiking is my very own passion. It's nice to go back to walking again now. I go barefoot, my flip-flops are on the outside of the backpack. I feel isolated from the earth by rubber soles. Through the connection with nature, for example by going barefoot or by swimming in lakes or rivers, the free radicals that have accumulated in the body are neutralized. The biological rhythm is synchronized again with the earth and thus with the entire cosmos. This improves my general mood and reduces feelings of restlessness and anxiety. I planned on visiting the Royal Bhutan monastery today and I manage to get there in the late afternoon, thanks to a lift that I got on the road. The Royal Bhutan Monastery is one of the most magnificent monasteries in the region. The king of Bhutan had this monastery built here in Bodhgaya to honor Lord Buddha. The monastery is only 2 minutes away from the place where Buddha attained enlightenment under the Pippala tree. The Mahabodhi Temple is built on that same spot, with a Pippala tree, an offshoot of the Buddha tree. I’m looking forward to visiting this place tomorrow! But today, I want to have time in the Royal Bhutan Monastery. The monastery impresses with its magnificent architecture, serenity and a seven foot high Buddha statue inside. I look at the clay cuts that tell about the life of the Buddha and marvel at the large statue inside the temple.
