"God gets into the specifics of what's going on in our hearts and says, 'this is what's keeping you from fully walking in my love.'" — Jada EdwardsToday's Episode: What's hindering your relationship with God? In today's episode, Jada Edwards encourages us to ask God to tell us. She challenges us to ask God to reveal those barriers and to heal whatever shame, pain, sin, or trauma we're holding onto. The hope is that we would grow closer to God, experience more of his love, and in turn love others more deeply and freely. Jada helps us see from her own life and example how this is possible when we ask God to show us our hearts. This month's memory verse: “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.” — 1 John 3:16 Today's guest: Jada Edwards is an author, speaker, Bible teacher, and mentor. Studying and teaching the Bible to women is one of her greatest passions, along with discipleship and living on mission. While she is a lively and sought-after speaker, the local church is her home. She and her husband, Conway, planted One Community Church in Plano, TX, where she leads a regular women's Bible study and serves on the teaching team and as the Creative Services Director. Jada enjoys spending time with Conway and their two children, Joah and Chloe, particularly around the dinner table. Leaning into self-awareness is not an easy journey, but uncovering your blind spots is one step toward transforming your relationship. Jada Edwards, one of the teaching pastors at One Community Church in Plano, Texas shares a wealth of wisdom on marriage. She and her husband went through a rough season in their marriage, out of which Jada gleaned deep and practical insights that we discuss in this episode. "Do you think you have a PhD in your spouse? If you've been married for 5 years, you basically have a kindergarten level of that knowing." When you realize that your level of understanding of your partner is quite a bit less mature than you think, let that be motivation for you to ask more curious questions.

Gospel Scripture: (all NIV) Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:24 “and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Romans 3:25 (a) “God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood.” Hebrews 9:22 (b) “without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.” Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:11 “Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.” John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Romans 10:9 “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Luke 15:10 says “In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” Romans 8:1 “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” Ephesians 1:13–14 “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession- to the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:15–23 “For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” Ephesians 2:8–10 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God‘s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.“ Ephesians 2:13 “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.“ Philippians 1:6 “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

We're chatting with Jada Edwards on the podcast today! Jada is the Creative Arts Director at One Community Church, which she calls her first baby. She is also the mother of 2 adopted kids, Joah and Chloe. She loves Jesus, the church, teaching, motherhood and wants MORE time alone to just think. She's a creative who loves the opportunity to dream. Jada also shares the difference between soul care and self care. Soul care is feeding on God's word and feeling satisfied. True restoration comes from time with God. Jada is currently teaching on the importance of the church. She reminds us that Jesus is the head of the church and established it for a purpose. We gather together at our Father's house where we find community and fellowship with other believers. This is what the first church did and we should follow their example. Jada is so relatable and funny. Her practical wisdom will bless you as you listen! Mentions: Jada's powerful one-liners! "Privacy Please!" Try using this in your house when you need time in the bathroom without little fingers poking under the door."Table for One" Try stepping away for a late night date with yourself at a local coffee shop or restaurant. Time to think, time to meet with Jesus and the bonus is you'll agree with yourself on what to order!"Not optional" We make priority for the things are not optional, like feeding our children. Gathering with believers is not optional. Truth: Acts 2:43, "A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. 44 And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. 45 They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. 46 They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord's Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— 47 all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved."Ephesians 3:10, "His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms."Galatians 6:9, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up," Join us at The Mom Event! His experiences as a minister in the small local church, to his administrative work in Apostolic/ Pentecostal organizations and movements as well as his pastoring experience at a mega church prompted me to sit down with him to discuss the topic of the latest episode of the Truth Proclaimed Podcast.Maybe there have been questions that you have had about the church overall and how it functions, or concerns about how it has functioned. Quite possibly you are one that is disgruntled with the church by what you have seen demonstrated by those that claim to be representatives of it. I want you to listen to my conversations with Tim Veal Jr. We don't try to sugarcoat things but we wanted to get a candid survey of the state of the church and at the same time speak to those that have walked away that you would maybe take a second look.Support the show (https://cash.app/$iamaaron1)

Pre-COVID, One Community Church was a force to be reckoned with. Located in Plano, the multicultural church was highly effective utilizing physical ministry, but in the weeks leading up to COVID, there was an organizational tension that maybe the church needed to firm up its digital strategy. March 2020 confirmed the thought and the church quickly learned that it needed some help to develop that Phygital Strategy. Matt, as the staff person championed to help develop that strategy, reached out to Stadia Phygital for help. This week Andrae Jones from One Community Church in Plano, Texas, joins hosts Mike, Gina, and Kellen to talk about creating a “wow” experience for first-time guests to your ministry.
My guest for The Happy Hour # 241 is Jada Edwards. Jada is a Bible teacher and discipler. She has committed her life to equipping women of all ages, at all stages, with practical, biblical truth to help them live authentic and transparent lives. Jada currently serves as the Creative Services Director and the Women's Director for One Community Church, where her husband Conway serves as the Lead Pastor. Jada and I start off the show talking about what reconciliation looks like when things are messy. We also dig into something we all need to examine in our hearts - are we maximizing someone else's sin and minimizing our own? I loved hearing Jada's story of how she asked God simply "show me how do I do this", and the changes she saw happen in her life. We then dive into discussing how we "set up people for failure, when we're waiting for them to be something they're not". Lastly, we talk about what it looks like to truly live the Gospel and have it influence everything you do. As Jada stated so well, "your job doesn't have to be in ministry, but ministry needs to be in every job." Magazine's prestigious Inc. 5000 list 3 times. A serial entrepreneur from a young age, he always has multiple irons in the fire. He has been married for over two decades, has two kids in college, and is fully engaged at One Community Church.
Listen in as our Executive Director, Kat Armstrong, interviews our August 2017 Polished Dallas luncheon guest, Dawn Stephens. Dawn graduated from Clark Atlanta University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Physics, from Rice University with a Master’s of Engineering in Electrical Engineering, and from the University of Georgia with a Juris Doctorate (say what?!) After working for a few years as an Associate for Needle & Rosenberg, she joined Texas Instruments as Patent Counsel. Then she took on the role as Corporate Administrator for a booming church plant, One Community Church, where she managed staff and volunteers in several departments. While the seed for Dawn’s ministry passion was planted during the years she spent in Sunday School, her passion became more evident as she began serving in capacities more aligned with her gift/skill mix. The joy that she found in serving was inexpressible. As a single woman living away from home, her life changed dramatically through the community that she found in ministry. Given these, her ministry passions include creating room for people to use their gifts/skills in ministry and helping women, especially single women, grow through community.
