Summary In this episode of Startup Junkies, we dive into the electrifying world of lithium, renewable energy innovations, and its impact on the economy. Hosts Caleb Talley and Jeff Amerine are joined by guests Florence Meaders, program manager of the Lithium Regional Innovation Cluster (LRIC) and Matt Newman and Aviram Hadash from Brightmerge, who explore the profound potential of the Smackover Formation in South Arkansas and the revolutionary technologies shaping the future. One key highlight of the episode was the transformative potential of the Smackover Formation, which has the capacity to supply ten times more lithium than the entire U.S. currently produces. Florence emphasized its unique extraction process—direct lithium extraction (DLE)—which minimizes environmental impact compared to traditional methods. Additionally, Brightmerge's cutting-edge innovations were also in the spotlight, with CEO, Aviram, detailing how their technology solves key challenges in optimizing electric vehicle (EV) fleet charging and microgrid design. Focusing on tailored, data-driven solutions, their platform helps fleet owners determine optimal charging schedules, equipment, and total cost of ownership (TCO), while factoring in local energy resources and environmental variables. Partnering companies like Volo X amplify their mission to make EV transitions both practical and economical. Matt provided a broader perspective, stressing the importance of diversifying energy sources to accommodate future demands. From smarter lithium usage to energy storage evolution, the conversation stressed the need for strategic partnerships, resource recycling, and advancing battery technology. This episode encapsulates the profound transformation underway in energy and logistics—underscoring innovation, collaboration, and sustainability as key drivers of progress. DS FEMA Prepares the New Madrid Quake (audio) David 11/20/24 (David's notes in red) (Note: The recent history of FEMA shows that it stages their troops around a disaster the DS are planning to cause so they can steal the resources, especially lithium. They then rob and kill and traffic the people just like in North Carolina and south, Lahaina Hawaii, Paradise, etc.     FEMA Setting Up Around New Madrid Fault Line — They Are Going to Set it Off! RichieFromBoston (11/15/2024): beforeitsnews.com/prophecyFEMA-NewMadridFaultLine  (In part below) It's the 15th of November 2024. I have talked to a whole bunch of people that live in the area in Michigan, two people that work at the airport in Michigan and three people that are actively doing search and rescue down in Asheville, NC. I've spoken to these people, these are not videos that I've seen, etc. There are no FEMA trucks at the airport in Michigan, yet. This is what I got. (Reading from an email) “Richie, I've been a subscriber for a long time. Nothing is onsite currently, but we'll share when it does happen. Local citizens have been wondering about the same question as you and your followers have about this topic…” So I wanted to know, are they there as of yet, right now? And no, they're not. But here's what's going on at the FEMA camp that they say doesn't exist down in North Carolina. He plays video clip - Transcript: FEMA Supervisor: (Being recorded) “I can't tell you.” Local guy: “You can't tell me, or you don't know?” FEMA Supervisor: “Can't tell you.” Local guy: “Because they're saying they're FEMA and they're not.” FEMA Supervisor: “Ok. Have you called your local law enforcement?” Local guy: “No, we've called Washington, DC and FEMA said no, we don't have a site there.” FEMA Supervisor: “They'll never tell you where we are.” “We've had congressmen run up on our people and talk to them crazy. We've had people jump out with machine guns and AK's and machetes and handguns and all types of stuff. So, we're jumpy as hell right now.” Local guy: “Oh, I get it; I believe it.” “Well, nobody here to my knowledge wants to hurt you. It's up in the mountains where people want to stay alone. ‘Leave us alone,' you know, ‘We don't need your help.' FEMA Supervisor: “We've been up there too.” Local guy: “I was trying to clean things up because, for one, your safety and ours (FEMA interjects: “it's important,”) is reflected on somewhere where they're saying they're doing something, and if they're not really doing that, then that affects us and you.”  FEMA Supervisor: “An excellent way to find out if you've got a legitimate federal employee is say, ‘Hey, can I take a picture of your badge?' and watch that person step out…” Local guy: “Right.” “That's the thing, multiple times, this same facility with other people…” FEMA Supervisor: “We've had problems with that facility where people were going in, they had on body cams, they had fake uniforms on with ‘FEMA'. And they were going through asking questions and walking through. So the reason why is because the security already had to deal with that and had to do a security sweep. So they're very alert, extremely alert. A lot of those guys come out of a correctional office, probably correctional jails, and federal facilities. So they're jumpy as hell and they're looking for a reason to box somebody up. They want that body.” End of clip. Back to Richie: You see what he says here? Correctional officers, federal facilities. They're jumpy as hell. They're looking for a reason to box somebody up. They want that body. They want to kill somebody. He shows another video here: This is from JW TV. Somebody sent me this footage earlier, but it's easier where I'm at in my current studio to steal his video. JW. TV. He drives around in the van and makes videos. But this is the FEMA facility in North Carolina and its massive and it looks exactly what was described that's going to be at the airport in Michigan. And I know the reason why; I know the exact reason why. This makes complete military sense. You see this? There's no homeless people, there's no people that were being rescued from the waters. There's no homeless children here. You know what I mean? They're not helping people here. They're staging. They're staging here... Well, let me explain it to you. (He shows a map with a circular colored graph around the New Madrid noting ‘slight damage', ‘moderate damage', ‘severe damage' and ‘catastrophic damage' that the effect of an earthquake would make in circumference to the epicenter.) He goes on to say, pointing on the map, they're staging here, and then they're going to stage here. Michigan is up here in the ‘slight damage' or ‘Green Zone', and down here in North Carolina is also the Green Zone. They're going to set off the New Madrid fault line. I said this about a month or so ago when the rain started. I said these guys are purposefully flooding out the entire New Madrid fault line (zone). They're oversaturating the land with water, and they've been doing drills there four times this year. (Saturation by weather manipulation empowers the quake. They are trying to saturate areas they want to spread the damage to. Water is heavy and it does not compress.) In 2024, the Army Corps of Engineers have done drills there. They're drilling there because they're going to set it off and they're going to set it off because of many things. It'll kill a lot of people. They're not there to help people. They're not staging ahead of time because they know an earthquake is coming. It doesn't work like that. They're going to set it off and maybe this will help you make more sense out of it. Check this out. Another video clip The Caption above in video: “The operation involved military grade logistics, including the coordination of routes, detention facilities, and staging points. Our source confirmed that FEMA's actions in Michigan are following this same exact blueprint. The maps don't lie.” Transcript: “But we're going to take whatever we have and head out to the second safest state, second or first safest state in the United States when it comes to disasters. Now, I know I keep saying that, but that's very important. But how would they know that the New Madrid fault line is ready to go in a very big way? Well you see, they, like I said, they have been running constant drills on this fault line as of 2024. More than they've ever done in previous years, and FEMA has actually been crunching the numbers. They've been crunching the totals of how much everything will cost; the disasters, the people that would lose their lives and so forth. The University of Kentucky created a 57-page PDF that calculates and tells us everything that would occur if an 8.0 or greater earthquake were to strike the New Madrid fault line. And I'll go ahead and pin that in the comment section below and also pin that in the description of this video. That PDF will be very, very important.” “So what is the goal here? What is the agenda? Why do certain organizations know that this fault line is going to go well in advance. Well, let's go ahead and take a look at something. This simulation, and like I said, there's been a lot of simulations in 2024 on the New Madrid fault line computer and physical simulations. But let's take a look at this computer simulation created by the USGS on April 4, 2024. Take a look at the simulation. You can see the earthquake starting in Blytheville, and as the earthquake starts to spread out, the heaviness of this earthquake, the intensity of the earthquake starts to fade away, heading in multiple locations. But the brunt of this earthquake, the intensity of this earthquake,  heads directly to Little Rock, AR; South Arkansas.” “Now, isn't it rather interesting that a month ago news broke out, letting us all know that Arkansas has a giant hidden source of lithium? (The same reason they struck NC.) Matter of fact, Arkansas has the world's most lithium. Looking at this map, this is where the world's most lithium is located, and looking at the USGS simulation of this earthquake well, again this is where the intensity of this earthquake will be heading. Is this a coincidence? I don't know.” “Well, here is a rather interesting article by the USGS. The same USGS that gave us this very interesting simulation. This article was published on October 21, 2024, a little less than a month ago. It is titled: Unlocking Arkansas' Hidden Treasure: USGS Uses Machine Learning to Show Large Lithium Potential in the Smackover Formation. This Smackover Formation again, is located in South Arkansas. Reading from the article, it says using a combination of water testing and machine learning, a U.S. Geological Survey led study estimated between 5 and 19 million tons of lithium reserves are located beneath Southwestern Arkansas. If commercially recoverable, the amount of lithium present would meet projected 2030 world demand for lithium in car batteries 9 times over.” End of video clip Back to Richie: OK, because of my limited studio right here, you're gonna have to look up the Army Corps of Engineers doing 4 separate drills on the New Madrid fault line this year alone. The army doesn't do that. They'll do a drill. You get one and that's it. They're doing this drill, where they should be over in Asheville, recovering people, but they're not going to recover people. I spoke to somebody who's been doing real search and rescue in Asheville the entire time. They've got over 10,000 bodies. The MSM doesn't even talk about it anymore and they left off telling us a number of 200. Ten thousand people got murdered. These people were standing there and all of a sudden a wall of water just washes them away. I mean, it's horrific; it's heart wrenching. And they're going to do this to a massive area and they're going to do this soon because, A: They're staging FEMA. There'll be another state over here in the Green Zone that we won't hear about because the guy that works at the airport up in Michigan spilled the beans. How do we know that? Because he was giving a press conference. He was just talking matter of fact, no big deal. ‘Yeah, FEMA is coming here, they're taking over the building. We have got to move someplace else.' Well, they're going to be above, all the way around it… (the New Madrid Seismic zone.) And now all of a sudden they cannot stop, absolutely oversaturating the land that they're simultaneously doing drills on, that they're coincidentally staging all the way around. They're going to do this, and they're going to do it soon because they got the land prepared and they're prepping. (For the Big One.) They're preparing. They're not preparing for you. You heard the dude, you heard the FEMA supervisor. “All the people we've got here at the FEMA campground, they're just looking to put somebody in a box.” They're looking to ‘body', somebody. What!? You know what I'm saying? (Although the New Madrid zone will go off, God's angels are taking out FEMA murderers.) But this is where we live. Agenda 2030 has sped up. (I removed here his opinion that Trump must somehow be involved in this, which is false.)  Trump didn't mention the DoD directive, September 27, 2024, where troops can fire on American citizens. … (The DS has made it legal to kill citizens.) This is a new map, FEMA, I mean. FEMA basically just put this out. You see what I'm saying? But listen to this: Continuation of previous video clip Transcript: “…2030 and we do know that the United Nations has a 2030 agenda, that they are really pushing and we know that they are expediting the 2030 agenda because the World Economic Forum and the United Nations met in September of 2024 to speed up the 2030 Agenda. But make no mistake about it, this lithium is not just for electric car batteries. It's also for these Smart Cities, it's for these robots; it's for a lot of other technology that will be pushed on us, and they really need it for their 2030 agenda. They need a lot of it.” “So we have the same USGS finding anywhere between 5 and 19 million tons of lithium that will help supply the world 9 times over to help push along the 2030 agenda. While at the same time they are saying this is the exact location they are projecting to take the brunt of a New Madrid earthquake. You can't make it up. You cannot make this up even if you wanted to. And at the same time you have FEMA located in a state perfectly nestled in a spot to where they can roll out to these states that were affected by the New Madrid earthquakes.” Back to Richie: Now FEMA is positioning himself all the way around the New Madrid Fault line (zone), and it isn't to help you, it isn't to help you. You've already seen all the military trucks. You see what's going on. You have to. If you live in this area, revert back to what I've been telling you for the last 15 years and prepare yourselves. Prepare yourselves in every way you possibly can, but the most important way possible, the most important thing you can do is prepare yourself spiritually. I cannot stress that enough…     DS Scientists Conspire to Set Off Huge Earthquakes Sandy Shaw - 10/18/11 (David's notes in red) I dreamed I was sitting and listening to a group of scientists argue and they were talking over my head with their scientific words. Half of the scientists were arguing, "We should not do that because we don't know what the ramifications of that are, nor do we know what chain reactions will take place". In the dream, I didn't know what "that" was referring to. The other half of the scientists begin arguing that they do know the outcome of that, as they have calculations and results from the previous times they have done it. One man from the group speaking against it interjected loudly with, "Not of this magnitude!". (Magnitude of course speaks of earthquakes. Will they set off a “chain reaction” of faults that all effect one another. They prepared them to do this. Sandy Shaw and Rick Sergent had almost the same revelation that quakes would cross the US in a chain reaction. Eve Brast had a revelation that 7 big quakes would go around the world. I believe they would use here a combination of HAARP, fracking, and their underground tunneling and explosions down those tunnels to connect faults as they have already done. Two of our brethren watched them deep penetration bombing the eastern fault line to get a portion of it ready. Also, they would use their Tesla frequency earthquake machines that they have underground.) There are many scriptures, dreams and visions that speak of Jesus coming in the Man-child body of reformers at the time of large earthquakes crossing the US. From scripture we see that history always repeats. Ecc 1:9 That which hath been is that which shall be; and that which hath been done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. 10 Is there a thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been long ago, in the ages which were before us. Jesus was the first New Testament Man-child who was a type for the coming Man-child body of reformers. Scripture shows that Jesus died with an “earthquake” and was risen to the throne with a “great earthquake” after three days. Jesus' resurrection was also accompanied by the “out resurrection” of saints who appeared to the people and history repeats. Php 3:11 if by any means I may attain unto the out-resurrection from the dead. (The Numeric pattern is in the original Greek words out-resurrection. Isa 64:1-4, Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might quake at thy presence, (God's presence is coming with quakes. He is coming in His Man-child body by Word and Spirit, as it was with Jesus, as time will surely tell. They will come world-wide because the Church is now world-wide.) 2 as when fire kindleth the brushwood, and the fire causeth the waters to boil; to make thy name known to thine adversaries (This will be a great judgment on the wicked of the U.S. and the world.), that the nations may tremble at thy presence! (A great revival will spring from this. Many lost or apostate will turn to the Lord of the Bible.) 3 When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains quaked at thy presence. 4 For from of old men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen a God besides thee, who worketh for him that waiteth for him. (The righteous will be exonerated as judgment finally comes to the wicked who oppressed them.) Psa 97:5 The mountains melted like wax (Volcanic activity often follows earthquakes.) at the presence of Jehovah, At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth. I received this text that points out that when the Lord comes in spiritual Judah as the Man-child, the waters recede. Psa 114:1-8 When Israel went forth out of Egypt, The house of Jacob from a people of strange language; 2 Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion. 3 The sea saw it, and fled; The Jordan was driven back. 4 The mountains skipped like rams, The little hills like lambs. (The presence of the Lord causes earthquakes and the sea to flee away.) 5 What aileth thee, O thou (Red) sea, that thou fleest? Thou Jordan, that thou turnest back? (Looks like an earthquake and tsunami.) 6 Ye mountains, that ye skip like rams; Ye little hills, like lambs? 7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, At the presence of the God of Jacob, 8 Who turned the rock into a pool of water, The flint into a fountain of waters. I received this about a witness showing the gulf waters receding at least a half a mile out of Tampa Bay and Coral bay and other areas for over 12 hours. (This is proof that God can do this. This was seen in areas of the world where there wasn't a hurricane too, like it was at the Red Sea)  HURRICAN IAN UPDATE - NO WATER AT THE COAST IN THE GULF OF MEXICO We will notice that the great shaking is accompanied by the coming of Jesus in the Man-child and the change of fortunes for God's people as they go into the wilderness. It is all coming soon and we need to be ready. Hag 2:7 and I will shake all nations; and the precious (or desire) things (Things has No numeric pattern) of all nations shall come (Jesus in the Man-child is typed by Zerubbabel in this chapter and He comes with the shaking.); and I will fill this house with glory, saith Jehovah of hosts. 8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith Jehovah of hosts (As we have seen Cyrus conquered Babylon and freed God's people giving a gift of Babylon's gold and silver to rebuild the temple which is now God's people) 9 The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former, saith Jehovah of hosts; and in this place (The true house of God) will I give peace, saith Jehovah of hosts. This shaking of all nations happens at the birth of the Man-child reformer ministry. It is only to happen once more since the time Paul wrote of it in Heb 12:25 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not when they refused him that warned them on earth, much more shall not we escape who turn away from him that warneth from heaven: 26 whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more will I make to tremble not the earth only, but also the heaven. 27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that have been made (I.e. by man), that those things which are not shaken may remain. 28 Wherefore, receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken (The Kingdom of heaven is where God rules and we submit.), let us have grace, whereby we may offer service well-pleasing to God with reverence and awe: Back to Hag 2:3 Who is left among you that saw this house in its former glory? and how do ye see it now? is it not in your eyes as nothing? (i.e. The Church, the house of God, is a fake mess because it has departed from His Word.) 4 Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel (meaning: "born from Babylon" who represents the first fruits Man-child leadership to come out of Babylon apostasy to rebuild the Kingdom), saith Jehovah; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith Jehovah, and work: for I am with you, saith Jehovah of hosts, 5 according to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt (through the Red Sea where the wicked were judged), and my Spirit abode among you: fear ye not. 6 For thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; 7 and I will shake all nations (As we saw this was also spoken of by Paul in Hebrews 12:25-29 as the great shaking that separated those manmade church kingdoms who could be shaken from those who could not for they are in the Kingdom of God.); and the precious (desired) [things] (not numeric) of all nations shall come; and I will fill this house with glory, saith Jehovah of hosts. (This is the glory of the Lord's presence in the rebuilt temple of God's people) 8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith Jehovah of hosts. (Cyrus'/ Trumps gift.) 9 The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former, (Because the Latter Rain is greater than the Former Rain) saith Jehovah of hosts; and in this place will I give peace, saith Jehovah of hosts... 21 Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth; 22 and I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms (The Deep State throne in the nations is falling now); and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the nations; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; (The beast army is destroyed as at the Red Sea), every one by the sword of his brother (As when the nations came against Jerusalem, the Bride). 23 In that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel, saith Jehovah, and will make thee as a signet; for I have chosen thee, saith Jehovah of hosts. (A signet is a sign of Authority such as Mordecai and Joseph received as types of the Man-child body.) I am convinced that we must be entitled to the Passover of this judgment, which was paid for by Jesus, when it does come. Make sure your heart is right with God and your brethren by abiding in Jesus Christ.)   Earthquakes & Refuge Dream by Sandy Shaw - May 2011 Notes: [David | Deb Horton] In a dream, I saw the NYC skyline from a distance and it was shaking. All the skyscrapers and buildings were going back and forth. (This is the eastern fault line and the second most populous area in the US. God heard the prayers and it will not happen except for a small portion around TN.) I was taken near to the center of the nation where I could see both coasts of the country and I was hovering over a large crack in the ground. (New Madrid) I was facing south, with the Great Lakes behind me and the crack went all the way down to the Gulf of Mexico. The ground began shaking and the new cracks began forming going back toward the East coast, moving in all directions like a fan very quickly. The shaking was constant from this point on but at different times it slowed down, becoming soft like tremors, and at other times it was shaking hard, violently. As the cracks were moving, they reached about half of the distance of the large crack (New Madrid) and then my attention was drawn to the right of me and I looked west of the New Madrid crack and saw cracks going in all directions toward the West Coast. They were cracks of many different sizes and they stopped at different places as they hit other cracks and then headed in different directions and some went all the way to the San Andreas fault in California. As these cracks hit the San Andreas, the ground was rising and falling to meet each other like hands coupling together as they join and then separate. California was shaking hard and at the same time so was the New Madrid area. The cracks began separating the areas where Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky meet and went all the way over to North Carolina. These cracks and many more are what isolate the boat-shaped piece of land in the Tennessee Valley and then I saw the crack around the boat fill with water. (Note: Although this italicized portion is a true prophetic dream, by God's grace it will not come to pass at this time, to the DS's dismay.) This is where I turned around to look at the Great Lakes, or where they were supposed to be, and all the water began rushing down, filling up all the areas in the center of the nation that have been affected by all the quakes.   It emptied these areas that split the U.S. Water flooded in from the Gulf of Mexico, as well. When all the flooding was done, many portions of the US were under water (the map below of dark areas roughly drawn). (Sandy said some of this water may be temporary but some will stay.) (This Italicised is not coming now.) ...During this dream, everything was happening in fast motion, but I knew that in reality it would happen over a slightly longer period of time. (We have heard that the Craton plate is drifting to the West, which would open up some faults that were before slip faults. This could be happening over a short period of time.) I had the exact same dream three times over a period of three months. This is important. Joseph said: Gen.41:32 And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh, it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass. To sum this up, Sandy said that the New Madrid began to quake and then the West coast began to shake and Tennessee shook. Sandy said this sequence would happen over a longer period of time than in her dream but she didn't believe it was a very long period.     Confirmation of Earthquake Sequence Rick Sergent In March of 2011, I was given this vision from the Lord: I saw the word “Earthquake” suspended over a map of the United States. Three golden rods came from the word Earthquake. (Again, the Italicised is not coming now) One pointed to what I thought was just north of Washington, D.C. but was difficult to determine because it was more like a geography map and not showing cites. (The Eastern fault literally damaged the Washington Monument but the Lord annulled this major quake.) The second pointed to the Midwest (the New Madrid) and the third pointed to California. This seems to indicate the possibility of a series of quakes indicated in Sandy Shaw's dream, in a simpler form in my vision. (She mentioned these same places plus a lesser-known seismic zone in a boat shape in the TN Valley. I believe FEMA will not operate in the TN valley because Tren De Aragua terrorists have been sent instead. https://fox17.com/news/local/tbi-names-major-cities-in-tenn-infiltrated-by-violent-venezuelan-gang  However the Lord has said His angels have taken them down in Nashville and in Knoxville and Chattanooga in the East TN Valley.)     Confirmation Alenna Timoshchuk - 9/5/21 (David's notes in red) In my dream I started watching the weather report. I saw a map of the United States. There were three red dots on the right side of the U.S. going in a line from up to down. (This confirms Sandy's N.Y. quake dream that revealed that the large quakes would begin on the East Coast at NY in the U.S. This one was prayed down when the asteroid was to hit the fault line at Puerto Rico but God veered it out into space.) Then many red, zig zag lines spread out from each dot. It showed a great earthquake that was about to happen. (This is the New Madrid quake that is coming.) The weather man mentioned 3 states but I only remember Virginia and Louisiana, although when I looked up the map, Louisiana didn't make sense to me because that's not where the third dot was in the image I saw in my dream. (I believe her red dot was on the upper part of the eastern fault line. This old fault line is the NY/Alabama anomaly which goes through “Virginia” (confirmed) and it was found later to go through Alabama to “Louisiana” (confirmed) and into the Gulf where the BP oil well blew out under extreme pressure. This may have well lubricated this fault. I believe only a portion of this fault line will fall away which is where our two brethren saw them bunker buster bombing it in the Eastern TN Valley. But also Louisiana is around the Mississippi River coming from the New Madrid.) Then I saw the U.S. splitting from the point where those 3 dots (now 2 dots) were, moving in the shape of an L, going upwards. I was paying close attention to part of Tennessee because it looked like it was becoming an island (The TN Valley becomes a peninsula, almost an island.), and I wanted to make sure the state where we lived would be okay. Then I woke up. (Heb 12:26, ...Yet once more will I make to tremble not the earth only, but also the heaven.) More confirmations of the Lord coming in His Man-child body of reformers in the midst of great earthquakes. Psa 18:7 Then the earth shook and trembled; The foundations also of the mountains quaked And were shaken, because he was wroth. 8 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, And fire out of his mouth devoured: Coals were kindled by it. 9 He bowed the heavens also, and came down; And thick darkness was under his feet. Isa 13:11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity: and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible. 12 I will make a man more rare than fine gold, even a man than the pure gold of Ophir. 13 Therefore I will make the heavens to tremble, and the earth shall be shaken out of its place, in the wrath of Jehovah of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger. (The Day of the Lord's wrath is twice, after the tribulation of the Bride at the beginning of the tribulation and after the tribulation of the Church at the end of the tribulation.) Isa 24:16 From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs: Glory to the righteous. But I said, I pine away, I pine away, woe is me! the treacherous have dealt treacherously (The DS Judas' destroy their own people.); yea, the treacherous have dealt very treacherously. 17 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth. 18 And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows on high are opened, and the foundations of the earth tremble. 19 The earth is utterly broken, the earth is rent asunder, the earth is shaken violently. 20 The earth shall stagger like a drunken man, and shall sway to and fro like a hammock; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it, and it shall fall, and not rise again. (I believe we have learned that it will fall past the 23.5 degree where it is now.) 21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that Jehovah will punish the host of the high ones on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth. (The DS leadership is being destroyed) 22 And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison; and after many days shall they be visited. (At the end of 1000 years they will be visited and brought to the Great White Throne Judgment.) This text is spoken against the King of Babylon DS, in Isa 14:4, the DS leadership, who are satanists under satan. Satan was cast down from heaven with his angels in Rev 12 by the warfare of the saints and also in Isa 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O day-star, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, that didst lay low the nations! (As Satan has used Babylonish DS to do using the might of the U.S.) 13 And thou saidst in thy heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God (usurping authority over the saints.); and I will sit upon the mount of congregation (He wants Mt. Zions authority), in the uttermost parts of the north; 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High. 15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to Sheol, to the uttermost parts of the pit. 16 They that see thee shall gaze at thee, they shall consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; (Notice: A “man” representing a corporate man in the earth inhabited by Satan.) 17 that made the world as a wilderness, and overthrew the cities thereof; that let not loose his prisoners to their home? 18 All the kings of the nations, all of them, sleep in glory, every one in his own house. 19 But thou art cast forth away from thy sepulcher like an abominable branch, clothed with the slain, that are thrust through with the sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a dead body trodden under foot. 20 Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, thou hast slain thy people; the seed of evil-doers shall not be named for ever. Joel 3:15 The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining. 16 And Jehovah will roar from Zion (Notice His presence is on the earth in Zion.), and utter his voice from Jerusalem (The Bride); and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but Jehovah will be a refuge unto his people, and a stronghold to the children of Israel. Nah 1:5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt; and the earth is upheaved at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein. 6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken asunder by him. 7 Jehovah is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that take refuge in him. As in Psalm 91; claim it.

Your winning story of the day..... Bill The Thrill! "(The names of the people and cemetery have been changed for privacy)My wife is from South Arkansas and while visiting there one weekend last spring, her grandmother wanted to visit the cemetery where her family was buried to put new arrangements on a few of her family's grave sites. My wife, her mom, grandmother and I pull up to the cemetery, get out and head toward the graves.  We were the only people there, no other cars etc.   It was your typical cemetery, being older there were some trees but not a lot, mostly flat land and gravesites - it was nicely landscaped and well maintained.  Once we got to the grave sites where the family was buried, my wife's grandmother starts telling me about their family history and who each person was and how they were kin to my wife. After about 10 minutes of talking this older man appears behind us and ask how we were doing.  He is tall; he's wearing a grey shirt and pants, work boots and carrying a rake in his hand.  He had a full head of white hair and what I remember most about him was his eyes, they were a piercing blue.  Needless to say, never seeing or hearing him approach us - we were startled thinking that we were there all alone in this graveyard.  We basically, all in unison, said "We're good, how are you?"He ask us where we were from - we told him and he tells us his name is "Bill Johnson" and that his family bought this land 200 years ago and that his whole family including his wife and children were buried here.  He points in the direction towards the front of the cemetery (where we walked in) and said "Right over there is where we're all buried."  We ask him if he knew any of our family members that were buried here and he knew a few of them - he even told us things we didn't know about some of them!  I ask him if he lived in the area and he said "I'm 92".   Thinking he couldn't hear well, I just smiled and said something like, "That's great".After a little more small talk he said he needed to go and do some more work and told us it was nice talking to us and walked away.  When he left us he starting whistling a song - My mother in law said is he whistling "When the roll is called up yonder" (an old church hymnal) we listened and sure enough he was.As we were getting ready to remove and add new arrangements my wife asks me if I would go to the car and get some items.  As I turned and walked towards the car, I looked around for the old man (it had only been maybe 30-45 seconds since we said our goodbyes) - he was nowhere in sight. My first thought was that he had fallen, you could see all around this cemetery and the trees weren't big enough to hide him.I keep walking towards our car and looking around for him and as I get to the front entrance of the gate I see a lot of gravesites with the name "Johnson" on them.  As I got closer,  I see a grave of a husband and wife that had their pictures on them, next to the grave site on the husbands side was a rake like the old man was carrying , just laying there on the ground.  I looked around and still didn't see the old man.  As I walked by, I stop to look at the pictures and almost fell out.  The photo of the man looked exactly like the man we just met - Bill Johnson, eyes, hair, everything!  The date on the headstone for the man was (Birth 1921 - Death 2008) this would put him around 92 years old!  The name on the grave...Bill and Louise Johnson!!!!! I yelled at my wife and family to come check it out and they were all freaking out.  My wife's grandmother said "On that's just a coincidence".When we left that afternoon, we got into the car and as we drove down the road I turned on the radio and was trying to find some tunes, the only radio station that would come in clear was a Christian station.  Guess what the song playing on the radio was.....I kid you not....."When the roll is called up yonder". Grandma was speechless - We turned the radio off and road in silence all the way home."See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Resilience and love are two emotions that can fuel a successful relationship. One cannot exist without the other. Love may be patient and kind but without resilience many marriages have faltered.  Lack of patience with the other, inability to find common ground on a key issue, or just plain old stubbornness and selfishness, have wrecked even the most well-intentioned couples in their pursuit of “happily ever after”. But when a couple dedicates themselves to resilience and love no matter what the circumstance, a long-lasting and fruitful relationship usually ensues. Duck Dynasty's Phil and Kay Robertson are a testament to this. Despite a marriage that has lasted 47 years, they did not live happily ever after, at least for a long time. Instead, Phil's demons threatened to tear their lives apart. But their resilience and love for each other eventually prevailed. What the world sees today is a far cry from a relationship that nearly succumbed to alcohol and Phil's philandering. As the oldest of Phil and Kay's four children, Alan Robertson had a front row seat to those early years, a period of time that he now calls a miracle due to God's patience with and ultimate forgiveness of Phil.  In the new movie, “The Blind” (now available on most streaming platforms as well as DVD), viewers get a glimpse of never-before-revealed moments in Phil and Miss Kay's lives as he seeks to conquer the shame of his past. Working through the turmoil that handcuffed him in his early adult years, the biopic demonstrates a love story that persevered through the darkest of turbulent moments and rose to create a strong foundation for generations to come.  Alan joins us on the Crossmap Podcast to reflect on the success of the biopic and how the film has brought his family even closer together. Listen as he shares how his father went from being the biggest heathen in South Arkansas and North Louisiana to John the Baptist seemingly overnight. Links to Crossmap Crossmap Website Crossmap Facebook

And that it continues to increase with wash dry fold, people wanting to use a phone app, people not wanting to use quarters and that that demographic changes daily on the value of people don't want to do what the old laundries used to do.   Intro (00:00:20) - Welcome to the how to scale commercial real estate show. Whether you are an active or passive investor, we'll teach you how to scale your real estate investing business into something big.   Sam Wilson (00:00:33) - Mike Worthy is the VP of Equipment Sales for the oldest and largest commercial laundry distributor in the Mid South Central Laundry Equipment. Mike, welcome to the show.   Mike Worthy (00:00:42) - Well, thanks for having me.   Sam Wilson (00:00:43) - Absolutely. Mike The pleasure is mine. I think this is the first time I've had anybody come on the show and talk about laundry. If anybody who's listening to this knows we are going long in the laundry business.   Sam Wilson (00:00:54) - And so I think this is a lot of fun. I'm glad to have you on today, Mike. There are three questions, though, that I ask every guest who comes on the show in 90s or less. Can you tell me where did you start? Where are you now and how did you get there?   Mike Worthy (00:01:05) - Okay, so our company started back in the mid 80s when everyone had mullets and parachute pants and listening to Duran Duran. So we've been around for a long time. We started out also owning some some small laundry operations and we soon found out you you can't own an operation and compete with your customers. And so for the last 38 years or so, we've been totally independent, providing everything from commercial laundry to hotels, motels, vineyard laundries, hospitals and hotels and I've been doing this for good, gosh, over 20 years. And so had a lot of fun And enjoy the ride, man.   Sam Wilson (00:01:39) - That's cool. Well, tell me, I mean, is now a good time to be in the laundry business?   Mike Worthy (00:01:46) - It is if you do it right, that the key is it's always a good time to get in business and expand your portfolio.   Mike Worthy (00:01:52) - But do you do it right and do you have the right advice from the right people? So, yes, absolutely. Great time.   Sam Wilson (00:01:59) - Well, let's let's talk about what do it right might entail. I mean, there's we we see unlimited opportunity. And I think in our space, which we're in the retail you know where would the retail laundry space. So we do the self-serve, we do drop-off, we do delivery, all of those things. And I see unlimited opportunity to acquire stores and then go do it right. But I want to hear from you because you get to see all across the country all different types of laundry facilities, what does do it right mean for you?   Mike Worthy (00:02:30) - So it's every case is a case by case basis. That's that's the key. You can't just use a universal cookie cutter and says what works in Dallas is going to work in Marion, Arkansas, for example. So everyone is a is a is a case by case basis. And the key to everything is is getting as much information as you can from a reputable distributor.   Mike Worthy (00:02:52) - And so there's a long listing of things that you look for in distributors. But but the key is getting good advice, doing your research and getting as much research as you can. But boots on the ground is also equally important.   Sam Wilson (00:03:06) - Okay. So boots on the ground. But so you say you stay on a case by case basis. Let's look at some of these cases. How could some of how give me maybe two different case studies and how they would differ.   Mike Worthy (00:03:16) - Okay. So for example, suppose we're talking in a large town that has laundries for sale. So just because the laundry is for sale doesn't mean that it's a great idea or a great investment. It could be, but there's a reason that it's for sale to begin with. And there's a long list of scenarios that that something could be for sale. But as a business person, if I've got a business and it's doing well, why do I want to sell it? There's always that. Why there's always underlying things that's being sold because the equipment doesn't work or it's outdated or they can't get service or the equipment is obsolete.   Mike Worthy (00:03:52) - So there's a long list of things that you look for for sure, but you also have that equal opportunity if you want to buy your own property, build your own laundry, you know, kind of custom tailor it to to your needs. So we've got people that start from a ground up situation. We just had a great success story in South Arkansas, $1 million plus laundry that built from the ground up all the way to 16 foot ceiling fans and floors that look like the ocean to, hey, I'm just buying something and I'm just going to re-equip it and try to get my profits up. So a lot of different scenarios and everyone is different.   Sam Wilson (00:04:26) - Everyone is different. And I think that's that's the fun part about it, is that is that you got to you have to determine what the right store needs in a particular location. But let's let's talk about the Y sell scenario. I have this theory that the average laundromat owner is getting older. This is what we're seeing on the stores we're acquiring. They're getting older.   Sam Wilson (00:04:51) - They are still taking coins. They mean a lot of the stores we're buying don't have a website. They don't have a phone line. They don't do pickup and delivery and the list goes on. You know, I mean, the store we just bought, the guy was telling me all about how to do a bearing overhaul on a machine. And I just kind of looked at him and I'm like. Now. I don't want to know how to do that.   Mike Worthy (00:05:15) - No, you do not. It is not fun.   Sam Wilson (00:05:17) - No, in a poor use of their time. So I'm seeing. I'm seeing this this shift in ownership from older to younger, which just makes sense because, I mean, the model they have built is unscalable or unsustainable, rather.   Mike Worthy (00:05:29) - No, you've nailed it right on the head. And what you've also seen is that the days of the small laundry will be coming to a close sooner or later, Maybe not in the particular town that you're in or someone else may be in. But unfortunately, due to this day and age of Covid and social distancing, people don't want to be cramped in a small laundry.   Mike Worthy (00:05:47) - They want to have the amenities of a nice laundry. And I give this example all the time. I'm in my mid 50s and I grew up in the 80s, of course, watching a Chevy Chase vacation. And you'll hear a and I tell this to everyone, you'll hear a sentence in there that says, I'm so hungry I could eat a sandwich from a gas station and that back then you would think of a gas station. You would never eat there. You wouldn't want to use the restroom there. I don't want to stop, but nowadays you see a nice gas station and they've got food and drink and TV and Wi-Fi and all this good stuff. So what our demands are as a consumer has changed for laundry and gas stations and doctor's offices and shopping. And a lot of these people aren't up to speed and you hit it right on the head when you said wash dry fold and things to that extent, because I've got a I've got a son that's second year of college that doesn't want to do laundry.   Mike Worthy (00:06:36) - So people get into this phase of I'm just going to drop it off, have someone touch it, do it. I don't have to worry about, come back and pick it up. And that it continues to increase with wash dry fold, people wanting to use a phone app, people not wanting to use quarters and that that demographic changes daily on the value of people don't want to do what the old laundries used to do.   Sam Wilson (00:06:57) - I think that's that's probably the best comparison I have heard yet. I had I hadn't put that those two together. But you're absolutely right. And you would say, I think I think previous mentality would have said that that the people that want and use laundromats don't demand that those amenities. But they do. I mean, we just retooled a store here in Memphis. And I mean, it's like like you said, the floors are, you know, everything's new top to bottom, brand new paint, signage, machineries or equipment, the payment systems. I mean, it's just it's it's a spotless brand new store.   Sam Wilson (00:07:31) - And the place was a dump before. Yes.   Mike Worthy (00:07:33) - And you get into the stereotypes when you just say the word. Well, first of all, when you say the word coin laundry, it's no longer just coin. But you have that vision of your head of broken equipment and nasty and no air conditioning. And the market's changed because suppose you're you're you're a well-off gentleman and you're married and you've got three kids and you went to, let's say, Silver Dollar City over the weekend and you have all this laundry. Well, do you want to come home and you guys spend the rest of your Sunday doing laundry or take it down to a nice laundromat and knock it out in an hour, an hour and a half. Right. And so the general consumer doesn't want to go to a laundry that's nasty and dirty or unsafe or unlit. And so when you provide those services, you're not only opening up customers that don't have a washer and dryer, but now you've got grandma that spilled something on the comforter and you've got the kids that don't want to do all the football uniforms.   Mike Worthy (00:08:21) - And so your your clientele just basically jumps through the roof with the offerings that you can offer as a smart laundry owner, right?   Sam Wilson (00:08:28) - Absolutely. Yeah. On that store in particular, we've doubled revenues in just a few short months, which.   Mike Worthy (00:08:33) - Is just very, very doable.   Sam Wilson (00:08:34) - Very doable. Right. So let's talk about that. One of the one of the not one of the objections I was going to say blowback, but that's the wrong word. One of the objections I receive from potential investors, as they say. Well, I mean, well, if you can do it and it's so simple, like you just mentioned, lighting, machinery, payment systems, point of sale systems, staffing your stores, you know, increased hours, all those things that we do there, like that's anybody can do that. So what prevents somebody else from coming in and putting a store in the corner right next to you? I have an answer for that, but I'd love to hear kind of what your thoughts are on that.   Mike Worthy (00:09:07) - So as a distributor and I know I stress on this, but the model has changed so much because in the past, the way the laundry industry worked is you had to be a laundry owner to to be able to be a distributor because you have quotas. Just like in any job, you've got a quota, you got to hit your number. Well, if you're not out selling the customers, then the only way you're selling is to yourself. And so that is kind of changed where, hey, they're looking for manufacturers are looking for a full fledged distributor, not just an owner, but someone that is that handles everything from a hotel to a vintage laundry to a to a hospital. And so the ownership has changed on what they're looking for. And by ownership, I'm talking about the manufacturers. But when we get into looking to compete with someone, one of the things that we promise is we're not going to put a laundry next to you. If you partner up with us, you've got a you've got our word as a vendor of almost 40 years that why do we want to put someone right next to you? Why would we want to put something else you got to worry about? Two is franchised stores.   Mike Worthy (00:10:06) - We're not going to put a franchise store next to you. We're going to make sure that we take care of our customer. And it makes no sense to put and I know certain areas in Memphis. You can go into a two two square mile radius and find ten laundries. And half of them are all put in by the same person and four of them are owned by the. By the distributor. So you need to really even out the playing field and really dive into what you're doing. But that's the key of making sure you're finding demographics and a good spot. And as us, we're not going to build against somebody that we just built for.   Sam Wilson (00:10:38) - I think I think the other side of this and one of my answers to it is that the the cost to build stores has risen. I mean, incredibly incredible.   Mike Worthy (00:10:49) - Well, yeah. And the finance. Right. Just went up, too, as you know. So this is we take the call every day, 3 or 4 times a day. Hey, I'd like to get in the laundry business.   Mike Worthy (00:10:57) - I've got $5,000 and we do take that. So unfortunately, getting into a business, it's one of those things you got to have some money to make some money. Right? And that's kind of true because some of the bigger investments now are million dollar stores or half million dollar stores easily easy before you start getting into it. Really a lot of improvements. These are some basic stores that are 4 or $500,000 just on equipment. Right. And then contractor cost and plumbing, all of that stuff adds up. And sometimes people aren't educated enough to and I don't mean that badly. I'm saying they don't do their legwork right, of saying, hey, before I buy this property, let me see the demographics. Let me see if there's laundries nearby. And oh, let me make sure if I'm going to put a laundry here, I don't have to bore a drain under a state highway. That's going to cost me an extra 20,000 grand.   Sam Wilson (00:11:43) - Right?   Mike Worthy (00:11:43) - Right. So there's a lot of things and that's that's the key, is to partner up with someone that's that's done it, that understands every nuance of how it works.   Sam Wilson (00:11:51) - You're spot on. Correct. And those are all the all the answers I give to investors because we have our clean laundry fund, which is we're going out and acquiring 20 to 25 stores through that fund. And people say, well, why can't, you know, why can't just the guy down the street just come out and start a laundromat? Because all the things you just mentioned, one, it's knowing what you're doing. And two, it's just the the incredible amount of capital now that it takes to get to build and then, you know, furnish a store it completely or put all the equipment in a store. I mean, I'm budgeting anywhere from 750 to $1.5 million per store now. I mean, at the low end at 750 to 800 and easily.   Mike Worthy (00:12:27) - And then if you have to build your building, add to add to that, add to that.   Sam Wilson (00:12:31) - Right. And so I think that's one of the barriers to entry that I personally really like one because it's like it keeps the mom and it keeps it keeps just that I hate to say it keeps them out, but there's just there's just a natural barrier to entry and getting in the business.   Sam Wilson (00:12:44) - And so I think that's it's good in the sense. The other thing I'm seeing I think is really good is a, um, a sophisticated ownership group entering the space. Tell me what you think about when I say that. What do you think?   Mike Worthy (00:12:59) - So and that's kind of a loose term because everyone's different and sophistication is based on someone's own opinion on for sure. Where did they get that information? So you get some folks to get some great information and you get some that, hey, I read it. You know, everything you see on the Internet, it's true. And everything you read is true. You get some people that get some bad information. And that's that's the key. I can't stress that enough is if I'm shopping for a vehicle, I'm going to look at the three or 4 or 5, six different brands, and then I'm going to start looking at dealerships. And in this day and age of point and click and instant gratification through through a, you know, through a drive through or through your phone.   Mike Worthy (00:13:36) - Sometimes people don't do the research. They just say, Hey, I found the first guy right here. Here's the first one on Google. I'm going to call him. Oh, he sounded good. And don't do the rest of the research. So there's a lot of underlying things that we see when we say, Hey, this group may be great and this group may not be so great, but they both think they're great. And so the key is just using the research that's available at your fingertips.   Sam Wilson (00:14:01) - Right? Right. When I when I say that one of the things I'm thinking of is that we're just seeing people come to the space that want to do this professionally. They want to build a replicable, scalable business that serves their customers really well. It goes back to, you know, the, you know, the rise of the Speedway gas station, talking about things that you you know, where it's like, hey, you get there clean. They're well lit. I mean, you can see two gas stations, one across.   Sam Wilson (00:14:26) - I'm thinking of BP versus and BP maybe coming around. I don't know. But if I think of which one's going to be better lit and more well equipped, I'm going to say, well, it's going to be a speedway gas station versus maybe a BP gas station because maybe. Right. Different standards. And so what I'm seeing is that same thing in the laundry space where we're seeing consolidation ownership groups are buying ten, 20, 30 stores at a time or in their portfolios, rather, versus the just stand alone mom and pop owner that, again, you know, is lacking a phone line or a website to.   Mike Worthy (00:14:54) - That's correct. And that's not where it's at. So if I'm building a laundry, that's what I'm looking for, is if my competitors, the small little laundry mom and pop, the biggest thing if I walk into a competitor and there's all these signs that say Broken out of order, that's my key to build. Absolutely in in a heartbeat builder by now. And it makes it makes sense.   Mike Worthy (00:15:13) - But you've also got to do those demographics just because you see the one laundry in town and then you start looking at the number and going, Well, I'm going to spend $600,000, but the laundry is only going to make $80,000 a year. That's not smart, know, And being able to understand the demographics, it's not just let me print something out and hand you a nice portfolio and you figure it out. You have to be able to dive in, do the talk, walk the walk, and then you get into the you know, then you get into the deep dive of who's the distributor in the service after the sale and the parts and the equipment brand and, and it goes on and on. But this is not we do see a lot of people that have got the right mindset, like you said, But, hey, my wife's going to run it in her spare time and I'm a doctor over here. This is not that. This is not the glamour of a subway or a restaurant.   Mike Worthy (00:15:56) - And look at me. You're going to you're going to have a baby stock hung in a pump. You're going to have someone lost their money and they're upset. You're going to have you know, you're going to have a myriad of things that could could happen in a laundry, as you can imagine. But this is your this is a hands on. This is not just I'm going to set it and forget it and go rake up all the money and go buy a new bass boat. And that's where the mentality has been for the last couple of decades, right?   Sam Wilson (00:16:20) - Yeah. And you said all the things that could go wrong. I'm going to switch that word out and say all the things that will go wrong. Well, I was.   Mike Worthy (00:16:26) - I was being optimistic, But you're you're right on there, you know. You know what I'm talking about.   Sam Wilson (00:16:29) - Absolutely, man. I've and that's that's the other thing is that is it is. It is. And you can decide, I think, how operationally complex you want to make it.   Sam Wilson (00:16:39) - But even even if you're not doing wash dry fold, even if you're not doing delivery laundry with drivers and trucks and all that stuff that you can add on, even on just the self-serve side of things, it's still an operationally complex business. And I think that's that's what people kind of miss estimate as they look to get into this and go, oh my gosh. And we just have the fortunate pleasure of just kind of learning on the job and having other things going on too. We got in the laundry business kind of by mistake, and then I found out I loved it. I'm like, Oh, this is great. Well, it's.   Mike Worthy (00:17:10) - Great. It is. It is fantastic. You meet a lot of nice people. Yeah, it is. It is one of the things I mean, we've been doing almost 40. I've been in almost for 20. And I learn something new every day.   Sam Wilson (00:17:19) - Absolutely. Let's talk.   Mike Worthy (00:17:20) - Coming to work.   Sam Wilson (00:17:21) - I do, too, man. I think. I think it's great.   Sam Wilson (00:17:23) - One of the there's two things I love about the business. One is that it has excellent margins. And then I think the other side of it is that when you bring an excellent product to market, we get to serve a demographic that's not used to being served in that way.   Mike Worthy (00:17:36) - I'm almost shocked if this is for me, this, wow, this has air conditioning, you know, so many places you walk into and it's really kind of sad of how can you expect someone to to operate a facility and you don't have heating air or you don't have a restroom or you don't have a just basic a chair, right? And so you come in and offer. Someone that what they expect and you go beyond the expectations and that's your advertising. They will tell people and then they'll spread the word. They'll post it on Facebook. That's your that's where you're going after is the word of mouth.   Sam Wilson (00:18:11) - Right? We have we have this new store we just brought online. In the last seven days. We've generated over 55 star Google reviews for that store.   Sam Wilson (00:18:19) - I mean, it's like it's just not that hard to present a really great product that people love. I want to talk to you before we run out of time, though. Let's talk about the future of laundry. One of the things that I always emphasize is that I feel and tell me if I'm right or wrong. So I'd love some feedback on this that that the laundry business is recession and inflation resistant. What do you think?   Mike Worthy (00:18:42) - Well, they've been saying that same sentence and you've hit it right on the head again for for decades. And when the when the chips are down, guess what? People are at the laundry, Right. And then when the chips are up and everyone's doing well, guess what? Then you've got to think of other ways to keep that business going. And guess what? The wash dry fold you've just hit an area if you're doing wash dry fold for people that have a washer and dryer and have a have a two car garage and have a college education, they just don't want to do laundry.   Mike Worthy (00:19:06) - I don't like to do laundry. I hate it. But if I can take it and drop it off and someone will have it all nice and pressed and ironed for me, hey, great. I'll pick that up and I'll pay for that service. You pay for the for the biggie fry or the biggie drink. You know, there's there's things people want to pay for and that's one of them that more and more people are going, I don't want to do laundry. I don't want it. You think of the think of the the influx now of landscapers and yard workers. Used to be, you know, everyone was proud to do their own yard. I'm going to mow my yard. I'm proud Now. I was like, I'm not doing I'm hiring that I got my time is valuable, right? And so put value on your time. And that's why you see the Wash Dry fold is doing so well.   Sam Wilson (00:19:44) - It really is. Yeah. I mean, this goes back to just the continued specialization of people within their niches.   Sam Wilson (00:19:51) - It's like and the same thing holds true for me. I mean, you hit it on the head the maybe 2 or 3 years ago. I'm like. I'm no longer mowing my lawn. This makes no sense to me to go out on a Saturday and spend two hours mowing my grass when it's like, Well, I could spend two hours building our laundry business or any of our other commercial real estate businesses and have a far greater return on my time than pushing more around this.   Mike Worthy (00:20:14) - Maybe it's me. I take the two hour nap on a Saturday. You know, let me relax. People want to enjoy some time off for a while, and that's not where it's at. And laundry also is not where, you know, do you really want to have to spend all that time doing that? More and more people are saying, no, I'll take it somewhere, as long as it's cool, clean and comfortable and reputable. That's not going to happen in these little small, dumpy little laundries. You offer what you know, you basically you build it, they will come.   Sam Wilson (00:20:37) - You build it, they will come. That's so true. Yeah. I always make the joke. One of the stores we just bought the five closest stores to this one that we're remodeling. I wouldn't wash my dog in, let alone go. It's like, okay, we have. We have nothing but unlimited opportunity in upside. So I really love the idea. I didn't know that that was really something you've been saying for, you know, since coin laundries or just laundry.   Mike Worthy (00:20:59) - It's been around for a while. But that but you hear that and people hear it. But you still have to have the eagerness and the finances to get into the business. Right. And it's a great and you were right when you said, hey, it's think of how many people have a restaurant, mom and pop restaurant, and you see them come and go, This is not going to be the mom and pop come and go investment. You're not going to see that. Nope. And so kind of weeds out the bad investments.   Mike Worthy (00:21:22) - Hopefully. Now it doesn't mean we doubt everybody, but then now you've got to make sure you've got the right equipment mix and the right distributor to help.   Sam Wilson (00:21:29) - That's it. I mean, that's it. And we rely heavily on our distributor for making those informed decisions because it and one of the things I keep saying to our investor base is that we want to thoughtfully scale, like as we grow, because you can still buy a bad store, you can still buy a bad location, you can still overbuild under build wrong, mean wrong payment systems. You can misread it without all of the correct data and think that is where a distributor such as yourself really, really comes in and helps guide. And I know you guys are in the business to sell equipment. I understand that that's how you get paid, but also you build alongside of those that you work with because if we fail, you fail too.   Mike Worthy (00:22:07) - So that's actually part of that is true and part of that is false. So one of the things that we've said since we've opened our doors is my job isn't to sell you equipment and you go, Well, what's that? My job is to make you successful.   Mike Worthy (00:22:21) - I can't afford to sell you equipment. And then you're, you know, I'm just talking. And I said, you get you all hopped up to buy equipment and you fail. I can't afford that. I want you successful. And then you're going to tell someone or you're going to buy another store or they're going to know, Hey, call Mike. This guy really treated me right. I can't afford to fail. So, you know, when we say we're truly behind the customer from the demographics to the design to, you know, trying to get same or second day service being in town, we put a strong focus on that. So it's it's not hey, let me just make a quick sale that, you know, we all like to make money, but I like to see you successful. That's that's my number one goal.   Sam Wilson (00:22:57) - Love it. Mike. Thank you for taking the time to come on the show today. It was certainly fun for me to get to banter with somebody else about the laundry business.   Sam Wilson (00:23:05) - I don't get to do that every day. We talk a lot about all the other commercial real estate asset classes, and this was personally a lot of fun for me, just because it's something we are so passionate about right now. If our listeners want to get in touch with you or learn more about you or the laundry business, now that they've got a front row seat to how it should be done, what is the best way to do that?   Mike Worthy (00:23:25) - Okay, so a couple of ways. Central laundry equipment, that's our website, Central laundry equipment. Or you can call our 800 number. We have offices in central Arkansas and Memphis. That number is (800) 467-3194. (800) 467-3194. And we'll even send you a couple of some information about our company. And we've got some great infomercials that will talk to you and you'll hear from our customers, our manufacturers, our people that have invested in laundry and people that we've done service for, for 20, 30 years that will kind of talent who is central laundry equipment.   Sam Wilson (00:24:05) - That is fantastic.   Sam Wilson (00:24:06) - We'll make sure we include all of those things there in the show notes. Mike, thank you again for your time today. I certainly appreciate it.   Mike Worthy (00:24:12) - Take care. Thank you again. For Your Coaching Business Courage Comes Before Confidence

Prosperous Coach Podcast

This episode is part of the Smart Mindsets & Habits series.Today I’m talking about courage – something all successful coaches had to raise within themselves long before they felt confident about anything. Show Note are here. This episode is for you if you are feeling afraid of crossing any threshold large or small to launch your business and build it into something solid to support your family. If you’ve been looking for confidence in a crucial moment and feeling none here’s the truth … It is courage not confidence that will help you break through. Courage is the fire within you. Confidence is earned through repetitive acts of courage. Before we get into that, I want to share something deeply personal …Courage has been asking me to step up lately.I’ve lived a life boosted by centuries of privilege. My parents were middle class and worked hard. My dad was educated by the GI bill and got a good job. Their parents scraped by through the Great Depression in the South – Arkansas and Kentucky. But they were propped up by privilege, as were their parents before them going far back in the family tree. Until now, I haven’t questioned why the neighborhoods and schools I grew up in or why the companies I worked for in Colorado were homogenously white. I did not get it that those neighborhoods and schools weren’t available to people of color by design. Now, with the murder of George Floyd echoing centuries of similar murders in my country and others, I am finally realizing my own complicity in these crimes against humanity.By failing to see the roots of my privilege clearly I also failed to perceive the policies and systems that built and sustain that privilege for only some.I am an empath and a highly compassionate person who has always cared about fairness. But I have been asleep, accepting the ways of the world. I have accepted injustices that — were I truly courageous — I would not have simply lived with.So I’m making a pledge today to you that I will do more day to day to fight against injustice and systems that exclude black, indigenous and people of color from the privileges that I have taken for granted. I will use my ears to listen and learn. I will use my voice, my vote and other resources to work towards deep systemic change while also working on myself to be a better human being.Thank you for listening. Now let’s talk about courage that will launch and sustain your business …Intelligent Coaches Are Stopped By FearThe coaches I have the honor to work with are some of the most intelligent people I’ve ever known. Many of them are far more educated and have more impressive careers than I ever have. Most of them are brimming with passion that awes me every day.And all of them are afraid to take steps to launch their business and keep getting out there.Fear is a human condition and in the territory of entrepreneurship, it’s a raw emotion experienced often. Not only have I been there in the early days of my own coaching business but fear still makes me hesitate, procrastinate and waste time. I get past it more quickly than I used to but the feeling that freezes me in my tracks still comes up.I’ve seen it in colleagues and clients. Sometimes a person will do everything but cross those final thresholds to launch. It’s one of the reasons why the statistics of entrepreneurial business survival are so dismal. For more Show Notes and 6 Ways to Boost Your Day-to-Day Courage and Gain Confidence go to https://prosperouscoach.com/79

This one is a bit out of the norm for my typical interviewee. However, I think you will enjoy the conversation. This is not intended to be an evangelical proselytizing, but the subject matter is Christian in its origins. I’ve known Robert for a little more than a year now and have grown more and more enamored with his ability to inspire his congregation every week. After having lunch one afternoon with my wife, it occurred to me that the amount of creative energy required to deliver with that much punch weekly must be researched. Not to mention he gave me the best headshot ever. The Reverend Robert Wetherington has been working in ordained ministry for over ten years. He is currently serving as the rector of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in El Dorado, Arkansas, and has served as Missioner for the Episcopal Diocese of Mississippi and as chaplain to The Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman, MS. Other work includes serving as rector at The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Biloxi, MS, and as the convocational dean for the coast convocation of Episcopal Churches along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He has been an Executive Director at Camp Mitchell Episcopal Camp and Retreat Center in the Diocese of Arkansas and has served on several committees and councils. Father Robert is married to the Rev. Betsy Baumgarten, who has served as an Episcopal priest in many and various capacities, including her current role as Ministry Coordinator for South Arkansas. They have two children, five dogs, and one cat. They share a passion for the outdoors and a variety of hobbies and interests. Within the chaos that fills their days, they find abiding joy in life.

Alan and Jordan spend a few minutes with Glen Knight, a missionary to the Philippines. He was in town and graciously took time to stop by the house, have some pie, and talk about his journeys. He grew up in South Arkansas, but eventually found himself living on a boat (that he designed and built), along with his family. Constantly moving, for various reasons, not the least of which is the dangers of piracy that have overtaken that areas, sailing the waters surrounding the Philippines. The area he ministers to has recently been dubbed "The New Somalia". He's joined by his step-son, Justin, who "aint from around here." (He's from South Africa). Glen tells us some stories that you will find fascinating.
