Also on this day in the year 2010, Princess Tiana from The Princess & The Frog is officially inducted into the Disney Princess Royal Court. Some Fun news Announced yesterday, When the New Star Wars Galaxy's Edge opens this summer, guests will be able to use the Disney Parks App to not only Navigate but translate the New Land. In Park News, Spring Break season has officially begun so be prepared for large crowds. Spring Break crowds will be here until Mid April. What does the Pixar Play Parade at Disney’s California Adventure (March 2008 – August 2017), the Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun Parade at WDW Hollywood Studios (January 2011 – April 2013), and the Pixar Play Parade “Pixar Fest Edition” Disneyland (April 2018 - November 2018) all have in common?  I’ll give you 5, 4, 3, 2…. FUN. Yes, they are all Disney/Pixar parades… AND they all share the same soundtrack.  “Welcome to our world of play. Come on, it’s time to celebrate…. everyone countdown to fun, yea… 5, 4, 3, 2, Fun...”.  While they share the same soundtrack and mostly the same characters, they don’t share the same floats.  In fact, the parade itself is much different between the Florida and California versions.  California Adventure used floats that featured water jets that would shoot water into the crowds, while most of the floats at WDW Hollywood Studios were recycled from the Block Party Bash from disneyland(March 14, 2008 – January 2011).  Block Party Bash itself was more of a traveling stage show than a parade, and it was recycled from the Disneyland version which was part of Disneyland’s 50th Anniversary running from May 2005 – January 2008.  So, a block party designed for Disneyland’s 50th went to Hollywood Studios as a block party then was revamped into a parade using the same music as a parade in California Adventure and that lives on in various locations today in WDW…  While WDW was recycling and retooling, Disneyland was developing new floats for the DCA parade and moved it to Disneyland as part of Pixar Fest in 2018.  The new floats included Luxo Jr, Up and Inside Out.  The Pixar Fest version of the Pixar Play Parade was a limited time offering during the celebration, providing an opportunity for Mickey’s SoundStation Parade to take a needed maintenance break. While most Pixar properties appeared in both DCA and HS, the Pixar fest additions: Luxo Jr, Inside Out, and Up (2018) along with Ratatouille (2008-2010) and Cars (2008-2017) only appeared in California. Also, this week was the end of an Era in DCA, On Wednesday we said Goodbye to Bugs Land, After 16 years of entertaining park goers...Bugs Land closed its doors forever to make way for the New Marvel Land. Proving it's tough to be Bug. You can already see Stark Industries stamped throughout the walls around the former Bugs Land. This week Marvel Studios released its First Official Look of Brie Larson as Captain Marvel. So Make sure you check it out. Just announced. Incredibles 2 will be on Disney Blu Ray November 2nd, along with an all-new Animated Short called Auntie Edna, showing us what really happened the night Bob Left Jack Jack with Edna Mode. Today is the Day!!! Halloween Time has Officially begun in the Parks!! And with that, All the Halloween themed Merch, Food & Decor that comes with it! Even more exciting news, The Haunted Mansion is Back with Haunted Mansion Holiday, Space Mountain with Ghost Galaxy & Guardian's of the Galaxy with Monsters After Dark. It's also time for Vamperina's Debut, she is now here at DCA from 12:30 - 5:30. You can find her outside the Disney Theater on Hollywood Blvd. For a Limited time Beginning Today - September 30th, AP Corner will be making its debut near Stage 17 in Hollywood Land at DCA. Make sure you stop by for a fun Halloween Themed Photo Op and while there, You will also be able to pick up an Oogie Boogie Button while supplies last. Speaking of OOGIE BOOGIE…. The Popcorn buckets that hit the Parks today is actually last years Oogie Boogie Popcorn bucket. According to a cast member, they should be here in about 2 weeks. Also, there is a NEW WALL in DCA Guys. The Alebrije Wall, it's located where in the COCO area.…. It's a Beautiful wall with Giant WINGS Not sure if anyone has even noticed but after the Pixar Fest's last day this week, there were no fireworks this week in the parks due to the parks closing so early. However, starting TONIGHT, “Remember… Dreams Come True Fireworks Spectacular” begins. This just in, High School Musical the TV Series will be making its way to Disney's direct to consumer streaming services with 10 Episodes in the works. Breaking News this Week. Music Composer, John Williams is reportedly returning to Score Music for Disney's new Star Wars Galaxy's Edge expansion for Disneyland. He's supposed to be teaming up with another great Disney Composer, Michael Giacchino who has done music for the Incredicoaster, Space Mountain & some Pixar films. I'm pretty sure this Dynamic Duo will create something Epic! We learned this week that In Select AMC Theaters you will be able to relive the Magic with some of your favorite Princess Movies from September 14th - October 18th BEAUTY & THE BEAST - September 14 THE PRINCESS & THE FROG - September 21 TANGLED - September 28 MOANA - October 5 CINDERELLA - October 12 FOOD - We just learned that Tangaroa Terrace at the Disneyland Hotel will Close on September 9th, reopening in Early 2019 as Tangaroa Terrace Bar & Grill. Happy Friday, July 27th Everyone! The Weekend is here! Park News - First off let's get right into Bing Bong's Sweet Stuff Confectionary which opened last Saturday. We got to explore it a few times this week and have already noticed some changes since it's opening day. On opening day they had a few hiccups with the drinks. It's BACK!! The Wildest ride in the Wilderness!! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad made its return from refurbishment today! Can't tell you how happy I am about that! It is My FAVORITE ride so I've missed it! Disney announced this week that Holidays at the Disneyland resort returns November 9th. With that comes, Festival of Holidays, A Christmas Fantasy parade and of course, Sleeping Beauty's Winter Castle. We also learned this week during the Disney Parks Live Stream for Paint the Night, that The Paint the Night Parade & the Pixar Play Parade will be sticking around after the September 3rd Pixar Fest end Date! Still no word on the Together Forever Fireworks Spectacular but we will be keeping our fingers crossed that it stays! A couple more refurbishments hitting the parks starting next week. Starting Monday, July 30th, Pinocchio's Daring Journey will be down till August 3rd. Matterhorn Bobsleds will be down July 30th - August 23rd (Estimated date) Also, don't forget the Enchanted Tiki Room will be closed starting August 6th with an unknown return date. Also in Disney News….PhotoPass day is coming Sunday, August 19th. During this day-long celebration of photography in Disney parks, you'll discover creative & fun photo ops throughout the parks! Breaking News Today - Disney & Fox shareholders have voted to approve the $71.3 Billion merger of the 2 companies, marking another step closer to Marvel Studios Introducing the X-Men & Fantastic Four into the Marvel Cinematic, Universe. We learned this morning that Disneyland Resort workers approved a contract that raises the Minimum hourly wage for Cast Members Effective Immediately, as of this morning their pay is now $13.25 and starting January 1st goes up to $15.45. Congratulations to all our well-deserved cast members! Speaking of Cast Members, we have come in contact with SO MANY AMAZING cast members who make Magic Happen Daily!! Cast Members who truly Love what they do and embody The Disney Spirit! On the other hand, sadly you get a few that unfortunately aren't so magical. Not Park news but it is Disney! Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Sandwiches (2 per order) with Vanilla Ice cream, drizzled with caramel & chocolate sauce. River Belle Terrace is now serving Breakfast! Here are the new Breakfast menu items! Short Rib Skillet, Southern Fried Bone-In Pork Chop, Country Biscuits & Gravy, Becky Thatcher's Fried Green Tomato, Mickey Shapes Pancake, Granola & Mixed Berry Parfait, Southern Sweet Skillet, Monkey Bread & Seasonal Oats. 12/11/17 - In this week’s Disneyland and Southern California news, a fire at the Splitsville construction zone causes some excitement in Downtown Disney, OSHA tells Knott’s to make some changes in the Timber Mountain Log Ride, and another Downtown Disney merchant is undergoing a change.
