The pious month of Ramadan and Navratri has commenced and many people would observe fasting with food, without food and water (for limited hours). Approximately 80% of diabetics can observe safe fasting. International Diabetes Federation (IDF) has made global guidelines on Ramadan fasting for People with Diabetes (PWD), which should be followed during fasting. According to these guidelines, most of PWD can do fasting with precautions. Those who have Brittle Diabetes with lot of fluctuations of blood glucose should avoid fasting. PWD on many oral drugs or multiple doses of insulin should avoid fasting to prevent hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia or ketosis. Many T1 Diabetics (T1DM) are on Insulin Pump, where insulin doses can be adjusted as per the carbs in their meal, lifestyle and blood glucose. They must consult their treating Doctor before commencing any type of fast. Similarly, T2DM those who are on single or multiple drug combinations or on diet control should also consult their doctor before fasting. Few medicines like Biguanides (Metformin), Gliptins etc. are safer during fasting and have low risk of hypoglycemia. Those who are on insulin, the dose may need to be reduced to prevent hypoglycemia. PWD with associated complications like heart disease, brain stroke, kidney failure, retinopathy, Cancer etc. and those with history of any recent major surgery should avoid fasting. It is advisable to take a fitness certificate for fasting from your Doctor and practice smart fasting. While fasting, mild exercises like daily household work, walking, yoga & Pranayam can be incorporated, however we should avoid vigorous exercises. Women with diabetes in pregnancy should avoid fasting for a healthy fetal growth. Awareness about fasting should be created amongst the health care professionals, para medical staff and diabetes educators, so that they can counsel their PWD for safe fasting.
Taking a pause and dedicating time to relax or unwind is inherently incongruent with sacrificing comforts, adjusting to unexpected outcomes, and prioritizing the sole goal of success. The discrepancy is a limitation for translating "going with the flow" into our daily schema. While these difficulties are ever present in our lives, we can either let the hindrances define our decisions or choose to take a course of action that anchors our minds to our surroundings. This narration of personal experience is a reflection in staying grounded.OTHER PLATFORMS:INSTAGRAMhttps://www.instagram.com/baps_betterlivingMEDIUMhttps://medium.com/bapsbetterliving

Sat Nam, This episode covers the last 3 of the 10 Values of the Aquarian Age. (This is Part 3 of a 3-part series, to listen to the earlier parts check out episodes 38 and 42). At the end of this episode, I lead you through Sitkari Praynam, known for its cleansing effects and ability to boost glandular function. Here are all 10 values of the aquarian age for your reference: Episode 38 1) Change and learning is continuous and life-long. we must maintain mental, emotional, and physical flexibility. 2) Intellect is not enough. We need a new relationship to intuition, emotion and instinct. 3) information is not enough. Neither is knowledge. We need wisdom. 4) Learning is not enough. We must learn how to learn. Episode 42 5) Complexity is increasing, as is our need to deal with it. 6) Our sense of personal identity and its foundation is shifting. 7) This is an age of paradox - more global and more individual, with fewer boundaries and more demand for political separations. Everything is faster and we have less time. We need far more love and unity, for we have more fear and tremendous insecurity. Episode 46 8) Stamina and contestant peak performance are the common benchmarks to evaluate all people and their work, and the need is to go inward and regenerate. 9) We require a reconciliation and integration of the spiritual side of life with the technological and material sides - a spiritual fitness to sense values and meaning. 10) There is no isolation. Each action we take must be considered ecologically, and globally because each person does affect, directly or indirectly, vast networks of people, and other living beings and places. One of the best ways to manage the tensions and stressors of this time is a daily meditation or spiritual practice. Translation in English : By following the Yog marag (Pranayam) one may prolong his life to the extent of the four cycles of this world (Four Yugas-Satyug, Traita, Duapar, and Kalyug) and even ten times that period. He may gain a worldwide reputation, and everyone may feel honoured by walking in his train. The praise of his virtuous deed may be on every human tongue. But if he has not attained His grace, then a time will come when no one would care even to recognize him. His misdeeds shall be reckoned with, and he shall be found guiltiest of the guilty, and a worm among worms, the lowliest of the low, in the assembly of the saints in the life hereafte If a guilty person repents, He grants him good qualities, and makes the virtuous more virtuous. There is none else in the world Who can uplift such a degraded person, and there is no other who can be a bestower of good qualities. He alone is the source of all good. He is dependent on none else. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/sant-teja-singh-ji/message
Translation in English : He is self-existent and Eternal. He has not been established or created by anyone (unlike worldly gods or goddesses whom people set up in their temples or other places of worship). He is One-in-All and All-in-One. He reveals Himself in His creation and revels in its glory but is unattached to everything. He who meditates on His name as the Eternal Reality gets the gifts of self- realization or God consciousness, and attains eternal greatness both Here and Hereafter. Sayeth Nanak: Sing the praises of Him who is the treasure house of all virtues and noble qualities. By this singing and listening to His praises with rapt attention and filling our mind with His love and devotion we get freedom from attachment – the source of all worry and trouble – and attain self-realization, the haven of eternal peace and bliss. In the second part of this verse, Satguru Nanak Dev Ji declares that the path of Prema bhagti (losing oneself in the Eternal Divine by meditation on His name), one need not depend on outward props, which the followers of Yog Marag or Pranayam do. For the follower of this path absolute and complete faith in the Guru is essential. So Guru Nanak says: - The spoken words of the Satguru who has realized the Truth is the rhythmical sound on which I have to fix my mind. The Guru‟s word is the source of True knowledge for me. It makes me realize the Divine, everywhere and in everything. The Satguru is my Isher (Shiv destroyer). The Guru is my Vishnu (the protector and feeder). The Guru is my Brahma (the creator) and the Guru is my Parbati (the goddess of knowledge and wealth). The greatness of the Guru is so boundless, even if I realize it, I cannot express it in words, as it is beyond the reach of human language. Note: - By meditating on the Divine name and singing His praises with complete love and devotion, a time comes when one realizes the Divine within. The veil of ignorance – the attachment to the body and the world – is removed, and one feels His presence within and without. The heart becomes in tuned with the Infinite. Just like a drop in the ocean, the ocean and the drop become one, but the drop cannot express the greatness of the ocean. God is the subject matter of consciousness. He is beyond the limited intellect of man. He can be realized, but cannot be expressed in words just as joy and sorrow are felt, but cannot be described in words. Through the grace of the Satguru I have realized that He alone is the Bestower of all gifts to His creation. Every moment I feel His presence within me, and I live, move and have my being in Him. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/sant-teja-singh-ji/message
This episode is a little different in that it is not a guided meditation, but rather a guide to a breathing technique. Box breathing is a favorite of mine because it can be used anywhere at pretty much any time. It nearly immediately calms the nervous system in times of stress or overwhelm, and it is super simple. Education neglected the INNER GROWTH. Our educations systems out rightly rejected the realm of INNER SELF, SELF AWARENESS and WHO AM I. The educations systems all over the world merely burdened the delicate minds with information and knowledge of outer world only and too heavily focused on achieving merely materialistic goals in life without teaching the students how to live life, how to live happily, how to live peacefully under all circumstances and how to handle himself or herself. As a result, education systems produced LIVING ROBOTS WITH DEGRATED HUMAN VALUES AND INSENSITIVITY that generated anger, frustration, anxiety, depression and mental abnormalities in society in general. Education needs to teach and make students experience the Spiritual Quotient (SQ) in addition to IQ and EQ. Manish Vyas: India, its Paths, Traditions, Yoga, Music, Mantra, Spirituality
With roots along the ancient path of Sanatan Dharma, many different roads have been used amid thousands of years to arrive to the same ultimate destination, realize the God within. One of these paths is mantra, the science of sound, by which one can invoke a particular energy through the use of certain sounds. One of the most famous texts has been known as Gayatri Mantra, which is in Sanskrit and comes from the Rig Veda.In the occasion of his recent 8-minute Gayatri Mantra release and his upcoming release of 108-chanting, Manish Vyas presents the subject of Gayatri in a half hour podcast, with very interesting stories and information which may help any person from any background interested in the subject know more about the incredible science of sound from India, and moreover, understand how to approach it.What is the best way to use this mantra, what is its origin, who was the author and the history behind it, what kind of music should be used with it, what are its essential elements, what is Gayatri Sadhana, how to use it for listening meditation or pranayam practice...? These are some of the points covered in this pleasant interview."Important is that the purpose of each mantra is served; the reason why mantras are there, has never been to use them for entertainment, but firstly to be aware of what we are dealing with when we talk about 'mantra' in general and each mantra in particular; and second, use them adequately and if possible keeping in sight their full potential. Then their purpose is served with grace and respect to this ancient practice discovered by enlightened sages, wise ancestors of humanity."
