Welcome to Episode 2 of Kundalini Without The Cult, where hosts Tiaga Prem and Guru Singh explore the profound journey of spiritual teachings and the complex dynamics of power in the world of yoga. Back by popular demand; Guru Singh and I are together again. This time we are talking about the third eye and its significance in Kundalini. We talk about the anatomy of the third eye and the role it plays in receiving messages and then sending messages throughout the body. We also touch on the importance of balance in this powerful energy center. Grab some tea and deep dive with us on:
Welcome to the first Episode of "Kundalini Without The Cult," where hosts Tiaga Prem and Guru Singh delve into the essence of Yoga and Kundalini. This episode aims to demystify these ancient practices and clarify the common misconceptions surrounding them yoga and Kundalini yoga specifically.
In this episode of Out of the Clouds, host Anne Mühlethaler explores the transformative world of Kundalini yoga with accomplished yoga teacher Kia Miller. In addition to Kundalini, Kia also teaches meditation, breathwork, and Vinyasa yoga. In their conversation, Anne and Kia dive right into Kia's meditation, grounding and breathwork practices, before Kia recounts how she has blended her beloved Ashtanga Vinyasa with Kundalini tradition to form the unique Radiant Body Yoga school. With an emphasis on the power of breathwork and energy coherence, Kia shares how she evolved to discover these practices and how they harmonise the energies of heart and mind, ultimately offering a balanced approach to managing the stresses of modern life. Kia's journey reveals the profound impact that yoga can have on building self-trust and presence.Kia opens to Anne about her personal evolution from an athlete that was disconnected from deeper self-awareness to a yoga teacher who embodies authenticity and presence. She discusses how Kundalini yoga ignited a spark within her, leading to a newfound intimacy with herself and a conscious way of living. Kia found inspiration and support through her teachers Guru Singh — whom she calls a wayseer — and Guru Chan. Kia explains how she found a path to connect genuinely with the present moment, shedding her old skin metaphorically, and became the teacher she is today.Kia talks in depth about the spiritual awakening that is facilitated by Kundalini yoga in focusing energy at the pineal gland. Kia likens the pineal body to a radio receiver that, through dynamic movement, breathwork and meditation, can release powerful chemicals, facilitating deeper spiritual experiences. Kia tells Anne how Kundalini kriyas (a specific sequence of physical actions that work toward a particular outcome) help shift awareness from a "me-centric" to a "we-centric" consciousness, enhancing interconnectedness and making infinite potential accessible.Grounding practices are another focal point of the conversation, with Kia emphasising to Anne the importance of breathwork, core kriyas and energetic field practices for maintaining energy and stability. She shares her secret superpower of deep empathy and highlights how food, nature walks, and connection contribute to radiance and happiness. The episode concludes with Anne and Kia making reflections on the essence of happiness found within connection, reinforcing the idea that true happiness lies within.A compelling discussion about self-discovery, finding the source of inner power, and our interconnectedness, with a devoted yogini and accomplished teacher. Did you know that mantra activates the parasympathetic nervous system, and stimulates different parts of the body? Overall, mantra is seen as a vehicle for calming the mind, balancing the brain, activating the chakras, and connecting to universal consciousness. Today let's delve into the Sa Re Sa Sa mantra from the Kundalini tradition, its meaning and benefits:

In this illuminating episode of Stay Grounded, host Raj Jana sits down with Dr. Guru Singh, a revered spiritual teacher, third-generation yogi, and master of Kundalini Yoga. With over fifty years of experience in conscious living and Eastern mysticism, Guru Singh brings a wealth of wisdom to this conversation about reconnecting with our inner technology. Drawing from his extensive studies with Yogi Bhajan and his family's deep-rooted connections to India's spiritual masters, Guru Singh offers a unique blend of ancient wisdom and modern practicality, guiding listeners on a journey to harmonize their head, heart, and gut.Key takeaways from this episode include:• The importance of breath as the fundamental thread connecting us to our inner technology• Understanding the three levels of the heart: hope, willingness, and courage• How to engage with our emotions as friends rather than adversaries• The power of "coming home" to our bodies and embracing our full human experience• Practical techniques for grounding ourselves in a world that often pushes us to transcend• The concept of epigenetics and how ancestral experiences influence our present• The role of sound and mantras in stimulating our inner healing mechanisms• Dr. Singh's daily practices for maintaining vitality and groundedness at any age• The importance of integrating all parts of ourselves, including those we might want to avoid• How to navigate life's challenges by leaning into discomfort rather than bypassing itAs we conclude this profound conversation, Guru Singh reminds us that true growth comes not from transcending our human experience, but from fully embracing it. His practical fusion of Eastern mysticism and Western pragmatism offers listeners a roadmap to reconnect with their inner technology and live more authentically. Whether you're a seasoned practitioner or new to the world of conscious living, this episode promises to uplift and inspire. Sit back, relax, and enjoy one of the most unforgettable Fretboard Journal Podcast interviews ever. This week's guest is spiritual teacher and yogi Guru Singh. Born Gerry Pond, this one-of-a-kind guitar fanatic garnered acclaim as a folk singer in Seattle's coffee house and music scene of the '60s. He was one of the first young rock musicians to sign with Frank Sinatra's Reprise Records. Gerry then relocated to San Francisco where he found himself playing concerts with the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin and others. Unfortunately, he was also a fish out of water: A sober, meditation-loving yoga living in SF's wild Haight-Ashbury scene. To compound things, his early protest songs about Vietnam resulted in him being blacklisted from radio stations and targeted by the Feds. So, in the late 1960s, Gerry safely stored his cherished Gibson J-45 and went on a yearlong quest to the deepest reaches of Mexico, a journey documented in his book, Buried Treasures. When he returned, the J-45 was still there but his music and life was completely transformed. Now known as Guru Singh, he teaches Kundalini yoga and meditation techniques to practitioners around the world, collaborates with artists like Seal, and spreads positivity wherever he goes. We talk about all this and more on this very special podcast. He shares the story of his favorite guitars, offers advice to help you get through the holidays, and even encourages a little guitar acquisition syndrome. In a Fretboard Journal first, he also teaches us all how to breathe a little better. We first spotted Guru Singh on the Rich Roll Podcast, where we couldn't help but notice all the unique acoustic guitars he employed. We knew we had to get him on the Fretboard Journal podcast one day and here, at long last, is our first interview. https://gurusingh.com/ Registration is now open to attend our 2024 Fretboard Summit: https://fretboardsummit.org/ If you enjoy this episode, please leave us a review on Apple Podcasts and consider joining the Fretboard Journal's new Patreon page. Kundalini yoga is unlike any other type of yoga that you might practice. Where hatha yoga and vinyasa flow might focus on the physical exercises (asana) that yoga has to offer, Kundalini focuses on the spiritual practice of yoga. It's about the energy body as opposed to the physical body. Don't worry, it's not as scary as it sounds. Kundalini Yoga is the “yoga of awareness,” and we unpack exactly what that means in this juicy episode.
