Charlie Ragle isn't used to losing football games in Arizona. One of the most success Arizona prep coaches in recent history returned to the Valley last year to become Arizona State's assistant head coach and special teams coordinator. As we know, 2023 was a tough year for the Sun Devils, but through the adversity, Ragle feels the lessons learned will be of great benefit for the program moving forward. Heading into 2024, Ragle will oversee a special teams unit that will be replacing all of its specialists. With the grind of the Big 12 schedule, their play will be crucial. On this episode, Charlie and I discuss how the staff navigated the tough year and how they grew, the progress of the program's culture, a rundown of the special teams units and fall camp battles, and much more.

Recorded: April 15th 2023 | On our final episode of our Arizona State spring tour and final episode of our spring tour entirely, we sit down with Taylor's high school coach and now Assistant Head Coach at ASU, Charlie Ragle. We take a deep dive into Taylor's past in high school. Ragle talks about the first time saw Taylor as an opponent, and how he eventually recruited Taylor to Chaparral. Again we get into Taylor high school transcript and how blatantly bad it was. Ragle talks about how college coaches were afraid at first because of how bad it was but then once they saw Taylor play, they eventually came around to see if they could make it work. Ragle tells this hilarious story of how he got Taylor to sign over to Chaparral as well as how Taylor was the original "Blind Side" by blocking kids onto the track. Ragle is a high energy guy and really gives Taylor his flowers in this episode. We hope you enjoyed this years spring tour and we will catch you next year. To activate the Valley, Arizona State needs leaders who know it well and coaches who know what it takes to establish a winning program. Charlie Ragle helped build Moon Valley High School into a state champion as an assistant before taking the reins at Chaparral and leading a powerhouse program. While there, he helped guide a young 17-year-old kid named Kenny Dillingham into coaching. Ragle would then go on to coach at two Pac-12 schools before being named Idaho State's head coach last season. But when Dillingham was named ASU's head coach, the opportunity to come back to the desert and help him rebuild the Sun Devil program was too good to pass up. On this episode, we discuss why he gave up a head coaching job to come back to the Valley, how he set Dillingham on the path to coaching, the staff's plans to activate the Valley, local recruiting strategy, and so much more.

This week, Regan preaches out of Mark 15 on the story of Jesus being handed over by Pilate to be crucified. In the midst of His trial, Jesus' shows His love, peace, and humility, especially when a murderer named Barabbas was released instead of Him. Jesus endured His torturous death out of his immense love for all sinners, and we can live with hope knowing that, no matter what we've done, His love covers all of our sins (3/20/22).

Parkinson’s Surgery Transforms Their FutureDebilitating tremors. Uncontrollable muscle spasms. Dr. Bill Ragle was trapped inside a body that had a mind of its own. Since 1995, Ragle has served as professor of finance at Cedarville. He will be retiring at the end of this academic year. The fact that he has continued to work while suffering with Parkinson’s disease is a miracle all by itself. But then last year, he underwent surgery to implant electrodes deep in his brain to control the involuntary body movement. A battery pack placed in his chest constantly sends 1.6 volts into his brain.Since the procedure, he is, miraculously, back to normal: able to focus, able to teach, able to play guitar, able to play tennis. He has had no negative side effects. Now, Bill, and his wife, LuAnn, look forward to retirement as an opportunity of continued usefulness in the service of the Lord.“After my diagnosis, my wife and I went through a year of mourning,” Ragle shared during an interview last year. “Eventually, the question came to me: Which of these things brings more glory to God? Healing me from a debilitating disease or having the world watch me cling to Him as I walk through it? I want to trust God to let Him receive glory the way He wants to be glorified.“What I’ve received is not a cure, but I’ve decided however God wants to use me in the future to glorify Himself, count me in.” ………….Bill was honored in chapel on April 15 during a program honoring the faithful service of five retiring professors.
