While the counties are preparing for the election and handling early voting, Secretary of State Frank LaRose has pursued a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. LaRose wants access to a database to check the citizenship status of Ohio voters. Any access if granted would not change anything for this election, LaRose has said. We will begin Friday's “Reporters Roundtable” with LaRose's ongoing efforts to get access to citizenship records as well as a judge's decision to throw out a challenge by the ACLU of Ohio over an Ohio rule that requires newly naturalized citizens to present their papers to vote if their state ID still labels them as a non-citizen. Plus, the nonprofit organization that owns both Progressive Field and Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse says it needs $40 million combined from the city of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County to pay expenses owed to both the Guardians and Cavaliers. Gateway is publicly funded and acts as landlord for the teams that rent the downtown facilities. The request is split between $20 million for Progressive Field which the city will field and another $20 million from the county for Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.

In his tear-jerking video for his new single “Temporary,” Eminem reveals that he's going to become a grandfather. The song, included on the rapper's latest album “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce),” is dedicated to his daughter Hailie Jade, who surprises her father at the end of the video by gifting him a jersey that reads “Grandpa” with the number one on it and a photo of her ultrasound. Three Days Grace have announced that original singer-guitarist Adam Gontier has rejoined the band -- and current singer Matt Walst is sticking around too. On Wednesday the band posted an audio message on their social media with Gontier leaving a message for Walst saying he was going to be late getting to the studio. A few hours after the Three Days Grace announcement Saint Asonia, Gontier's band with Staind guitarist Mike Mushok, posted a note on their social media that said "Thank you for all of your love and support. We will be back." Chef Vegan Vicki is a proud Cleveland native who, in 2008, was diagnosed with non-smoking lung cancer.

 After surgery, she started researching ways to get healthy and avoid a recurrence of this or any form of cancer. No surprise, her homework led her to a whole foods, plant-based diet and she ended up losing almost 100 lbs! This transformation changed everything in her life and she went from working in the insurance industry to becoming an iconic chef. In this inspiring conversation, she shared how she started her cooking journey at the Cleveland Veg Fest and Taste of Black Cleveland events, offering mouthwatering vegan soul food that no one else was making at the time. 

As you can imagine, she faced initial resistance and skepticism towards vegan food; however, she persisted, gained recognition, and eventually became the first vegan to be in a major sports arena at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland! Today, as founder of Koncious Kuisine, she's also a private vegan chef to several families and members of the NBA and NFL, and continues to run pop-ups in the arena and all over the Cleveland area.
