In this no-holds-barred roundtable, Sheila Wysocki, Dennis Ferrier, Jeff Lucas, and Lori Morrison tackle the question on everyone's mind: Is Nashville still safe? The panel dives into the rise in violent crime, low bonds, and a justice system many feel is failing. Dennis and Jeff call out lenient judges and a DA reluctant to prosecute. Lori warns that fear is changing how people live—and women are especially vulnerable. When Sheila saw the ghost of Angela, she knew she had to take matters into her own hands.

Without Warning Podcast - Episode DescriptionWithout Warning Podcast: The Timeline of Tony Jones Step behind the curtain as renowned private investigator Sheila Wysocki unravels the truth behind real tragic deaths that just don't add up. In this gripping episode, we delve into the unsettling details surrounding the death of Crystal McCorry Jones. Sheila dissects the evidence, questions the truth, and demands justice for Crystal. Homicide detectives often question suspects to gather key information during an investigation. In cases involving a single gunshot, these incidents are treated as homicide unless evidence proves otherwise. Join us as we explore the intricate web of Tony Jones' alibi, his suspicious behavior, and the inconsistencies that have left a community in disbelief. Listen to the chilling interview of Tony Jones conducted by Detective Allen Irby at the West Carroll Sheriff's Office. Tony recounts his day, from his morning departure to the heart-wrenching discovery of his wife's body. His detailed timeline raises more questions than answers, with unsettling gaps and curious actions that defy logic. Jana, Crystal's sister, shares her initial impressions of Tony and describes his cult-like control over Crystal, leading her away from family and friends. Jana's observations of Tony's behavior following Crystal's death, including his immediate inquiries about life insurance and his inappropriate search for new relationships, paint a disturbing picture. We also delve into the critical role of victimology in suspicious death investigations. By understanding Crystal's life, habits, and relationships, we uncover patterns that suggest foul play rather than suicide. Crystal's tracking of Tony's location via his Google account before her death indicates her growing concerns about his activities. Given Tony's close ties with the local sheriff's department, the potential conflict of interest in the investigation raises further questions about the integrity of the case. How much did Tony's connections influence the investigation? Could there be a bias clouding the search for the truth? Join us as we seek justice for Crystal McCorry Jones, exploring the complexities and challenges families face in their relentless pursuit of truth. Sheila as the title says solved her best friend's murder. Sheila's life changed forever, aged 22, when she got a call from one of Angela's sorority sisters saying Angela had been brutally raped and murdered in her own home. The case quickly went cold, and Sheila left college and moved back home, eventually meeting her husband and starting a family. But in 2004 she had a vision of her murdered friend and, unable to convince local police to reopen the case, trained as a private detective, qualifying in 2005. By 2006 her persistence paid off, and Dallas police tasked detective Linda Crumb with reopening the case, including sending off the DNA found at the scene for analysis, and they found a match with Donald Andrew Bess, a convicted rapist serving a life sentence at Huntsville Prison in Texas. In 2010 he was convicted of Angie's murder and sentenced to death - it was the only cold case solved in Dallas that year. Sheila set up her own agency in 2011 and has helped many other families who have been chasing justice in cases that have gone unsolved. In 2016, Bess unsuccessfully appealed against the death penalty, but was unsuccessful, and he remains on death row. Remember the original Unsolved Mysteries from back in the day when Robert Stack was the host? How he always wrapped up the intro by saying, “Perhaps you may be able to solve a mystery.” Retired FBI Criminal Profiler John Douglas agrees. He says in our book today that “...there's almost always someone out there who has information needed to complete the puzzle.” Our book this week is The Anatomy of Motive by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker and our guest is a familiar one, private investigator Sheila Wysocki. She's going to help us understand what the term “victimology” means how you prepare one and why it's so important for investigations Sheila Wysocki became a household name in the private investigation world after she helped solve the cold-case murder of her college roommate, Angie Samota, more than 25 years later. Only wanting to figure out Angie's case, Wysocki was ready to close the case on her PI career. However, that's when letters from around the world came pouring into her inbox begging her to help their families who had mysteriously lost a loved one. “I just couldn't say no,” recalls Wysocki, “these families were in the same position I was after Angie's death, and I knew I had to at least try to help them.” Since then, Wysocki has worked on over 100 complicated cases, has been nominated as one of the Top 20 Best Nashville Private Investigators, and voted the number six most influential woman private investigator. She has been featured in The Washington Post and has appeared on Anderson Cooper, Dateline, Katie Couric, A&E Biography's “I Solved a Murder,” ABC's 20/20, Crime Watch Daily, Criminal, and numerous other podcasts. Persistence has always been how her colleagues characterize her and that persistence has paid off in the many cold cases she has worked. In 2004, a woman living in Nashville, Tennessee, was sitting up in her bed one night trying to get some homework done for a Bible study class. As she sat there, she started to feel tired and so she decided to call it a night. She bookmarked the page she was on, and leaned over to put her Bible on the bed side table, when she suddenly froze. The house was supposed to be empty, her family was out for the night... but now, standing at the foot of her bed was a person, just staring up at her... and this person was dead. For 100s more stories like this one, check out my YouTube channel just called "MrBallen" -- https://www.youtube.com/c/MrBallenIf you want to reach out to me, contact me on Instagram, Twitter or any other major social media platform, my username on all of them is @MrBallen....Note about our content:We do not do any original reporting. Without Warning Investigation Derailed – The Kadie Major Case Episode 6 Show Notes Investigations can be complex and time consuming. Few families can afford to pay for all of the help that they need. Join Sheila as she and some of her crowdsourcers discuss what they find the most shocking about this case, and why they volunteer their time and resources to help families find the truth. Sheila Wysocki is a private investigator who uses her podcast, Without Warning, to crowdsource true crime cases in real-time. The third season of the Without Warning podcast digs into the mysterious 2008 deaths of Kadie Major, her baby River, and her unborn child, Aidan, in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. The Beginnings of Without Warning Sheila became a private investigator in 2004 to discover what happened to her college roommate who was raped and murdered in the 1980s. After six years of work, in 2010, she helped to convict a man for this crime. Since then, Sheila has expanded her case portfolio across the US. Sheila began the Without Warning podcast as a real-time investigative tool for some of her cases. She uses her podcast platform to receive feedback, assistance, and tips from listeners. In her first two seasons, she covered two separate cases on the deaths of Lauren Agee and Christian Andreacchio. The Case of Kadie Major Now in Season 3, Sheila is investigating the bizarre deaths of Kadie Major, daughter River, and baby boy (to be named Aidan Robert) in Moncks Corner, South Carolina in 2008. Sheila, fellow investigators, and her Patreon team are working with Kadie’s mom, Vicky, to find the truth behind their deaths. Kadie and River’s bodies were found near a train track and quickly ruled a suicide. However, Sheila has found convincing evidence to question this suicide theory. This story digs into a strange and complicated world of Kadie’s husband, Aaron, and his immediate family. It also looks at the seemingly botched investigation by the local officials. As the case continues, Without Warning will continue to reveal more unbelievable and unworldly evidence about this case. The Power of Women Investigators One of Sheila’s primary motivations is the strength and determination of the grieving mothers of deceased adult children. Sheila works closely with these strong mothers on different cases to find justice and bring closure to these cases. Sheila is also constantly amazed by her Patreon team--many of whom are also mothers--who are working with her to solve cases in real-time. Kadie Major grew up a bubbly, cheerful girl in a small town just outside of Charleston, South Carolina. She always dreamed of owning a farmhouse where she could raise horses and grow her family. In high school, she fell in love with a quiet, reserved classmate named Aaron Major. They eventually married and settled into a house just minutes away from Kadie’s parents. By January 2008, Kadie Major seemed to have the perfect life. She and Aaron had a beautiful 10-month old baby girl named River Lynn, with a baby boy (to be named Aidan Robert) on the way. Everything was on the right track. Yet things aren’t always as they seem. Aaron appeared to struggle with depression during his college days, and the couple was prone to argument and bickering. Even Aaron’s mother, Ronda, had a series of unnerving interactions with Kadie. On the evening of January 16, 2008, Kadie asked her mother, Vicky, to join her for dinner. Dylan Swearingen claimed to be one of Christian Andreacchio’s best friends. They had not been close in high school, but a bad breakup for Dylan coincided with Christian’s final split with Avery, and the two began to hang out more. It wasn’t long before Dylan’s drug use escalated, and Christian warned Whitley that he considered Dylan a bad influence. That didn’t stop her from letting Dylan come over when Christian was gone working on the boat. Christian and Dylan’s relationship became so strained that witnesses have them fighting at a party in December. After that, contact between the two practically stopped. So why would Dylan be the one Christian called for a ride back to Meridian? Listen to private investigator Sheila Wysocki highlight key differences in Dylan and Whitley’s statements. Consider Dylan’s words when compared to forensics, video evidence, and witness statements. Decide for yourself if Dylan’s stories about the debit card, the broken cell phone, or the trip to Best Buy ring true. The suicide of Christian Andreacchio has been left a mystery for many years. The host and producer of Culpable join Mary Payne to discuss in depth. On February 26, 2014, young Christian Andreacchio was found dead of an apparent suicide in Meridian, Mississippi. However, there is mystery and speculation on whether his death was actually a suicide or whether he was murdered. Culpable, a true crime podcast, tells the mysterious story of Christian’s death and shares the complexities with the investigation of his death. Host Dennis Cooper and Producer, Mark Minnery, join Mary Payne to take a deep dive into the podcast. Questioning the Death Dennis and Mark explain in detail how they got involved in the case in 2018. The two share what went into their investigation of Christian’s death including the help his mother, Rae, gave them through documentation and timelines she had put together. The three discuss various aspects of the case, questioning how the Meridian Police Department could believe Christian’s friends and assume it was an open-and-shut case. They touch on Christian’s girlfriend, Whitley Goodman, and the role she may or may not have played in his death as well as the supposed “Gun Night” that took place earlier that evening. The Culpable team discusses their relationship with Sheila Wysocki, the Private Investigator hired by the Andreacchio family and host of the podcast Without Warning, and her role of recreating a 3D model of the bathroom where Christian was found dead utilizing forensics technology. A Reward for Information There are so many questions surrounding the death of Christian. There is currently a reward being offered up to $100,000 to anyone that can bring an arrest and conviction to this case. This reward is sponsored by the Culpable team at Black Mountain Media, as well as their partner Tenderfoot. Will there be a Season Two of Culpable with another case and story? Christian Andreaccio's last place on earth became a crime scene. Crime scenes contain physical evidence that can tell us what really happened to a victim, and in this episode, we review that crime scene with Alina Burroughs and Mark Gillespie. We discuss what was and was not done, and what should have been done. First responders were delayed after Dylan Swearingen gave the 911 operator the wrong address. When they did finally arrive, a narrative was already established: it was a suicide. Why was that narrative established? Because that's what Dylan told the 911 operator. In the past, I've talked about transcriptions. The fun part of transcriptions is you still have to end up with something that is easy to read and brings value. I've mentioned temi.com and revs.com but the one thing I didn't think about is how you can use it as an editing tool But What if Things Go Wrong? I drove to Nashville this week to attend two events. One was the Nashville podcasters meetup, and the other was the launch party of Without Warning by Sheila Wysocki which had a room full of private investigators who are thinking about starting a podcast, and music business people looking to start podcasts. When I first thought about it, I went to hotels.com and did a search for cheap hotels. I normally don't look at reviews, but as I was choosing the cheapest hotel I could find, I saw some reviews with words like "bed bugs," "Drug Deals," and "Cockroaches." It made me very nervous. I thought of getting bed bugs into my luggage and bringing them home. I thought of my last trip to Nashville where I ended up hitting a dear on the way home and totaled my car. But What if Things Go Right? I met some great people and strengthened the relationships I already had. I was interviewed, and it turns out that the Ramada Hotel I stayed at was the same one I chose the last time I was in Franklin Tenessee. By the time I left many more people knew who I was, what I do, and how to contact me. What I Learned If you get a bunch of private investigators together they are just as talkative as podcasters. Why? Becuase much like podcasters, the only people who understand what it's like to be a Private Investigator are other private investigators. My comfort zone is 7 hours in a car, but if I'm driving home I can go 8.5 and be wide awake at 3 AM. You can use transcriptions to help with editing. The two I mentioned are temi.com and rev.com More and more people are assembling teams to create a podcast (and I'm not sure people know there is an alternative) People often follow the guidelines based on their environment (so people in Nashville think you need to go to a professional studio to record - you don't) Danny Ozment of Emerald City Productions ( speaking of studios) has a great mixing room, and David Hooper of Big Podcast and Red Podcast converted his walk-in closet into a studio How Podcasting Is Like Show Shopping I was so excited to go to Podcast Movement I forgot my shoes and I realized this when I was about 4 hours into the 7-hour drive. I stopped and bought a new pair. There are all sorts of dress shoes with colors, materials, heals, souls, etc. Some are shiny, and some have a texture. In the end, you need shoes to protect and provide comfort for your feet. With this in mind, it doesn't matter what they look like, the texture, etc. Fashion is what dictates those types of guidelines and those are not really NEED, but more WANTS. For me I needed a black pair, that didn't pinch my feet, let my feet breathe, and had a soul that wasn't' going to have me sliding. I looked around, found a few that fit the criteria, and then bought the pair that fit my budget. I could've looked a lot longer, but I found shoes that fit what I needed, and I moved on and continued driving to Philadelphia. Sometimes you just need to decide, put on the shoes and go. Usually the first day, your f00t need to kind of get used to the shoe, but over time the show adapts to the foot and all is well. So Man Varieties of Show Openings Jeff Brown from Lead to Read will be coming on the show in the future to discuss this further (as we did a talk on this at Podcast Movement), but we share the opinion that the show should let people know what the show is about, what the episode is about, why we should listen to you, and then get to the content. We will dive into that deeper in the future. The Perfect Podcast Intro I'm going to play samples of podcast intros from many shows today and let you know that you don't HAVE to do an intro like mine if you don't want to. Don't want music? Don't need it. Like shoes, podcast intros come in many shapes and sizes. Lauren Agee went to Center Hill Lake in Smithville, Tennessee with some "friends" to attend the annual wake-boarding tournament known as WakeFest. They were camping on a steep cliff, 90 feet above the water. She supposedly went to bed Saturday night, and was missing the next morning. She was found hours later by two fishermen, floating dead, face down in a cove. Her death was barely investigated and her friends acted extremely suspicious.
