What if the very thing that helped you succeed is now holding you back? In this episode of the WholeCEO Podcast, Lisa G. sits down with entrepreneur, investor, and startup builder Safeer Qureshi to challenge one of the most common assumptions in business: that being smart is the key to success. Safeer explains why intelligence can sometimes become a founder's biggest obstacle, leading to overthinking, analysis paralysis, and missed opportunities. Drawing from his experience launching his first business at just 14 years old and investing in high-potential founders, he shares practical lessons on entrepreneurship, execution, hiring exceptional talent, and recognizing opportunities others overlook. You'll discover: • Why being "smart" can slow down startup success • The entrepreneurial lessons Safeer learned at age 14 • How investors identify underdogs with massive potential • Real examples of "stupid" ideas that became big successes • How to test business ideas quickly without wasting months building the wrong thing • Why the best founders surround themselves with people smarter than themselves • Advice for aspiring entrepreneurs who feel unqualified to start Whether you're a founder, CEO, investor, or someone sitting on an idea you've been afraid to pursue, this conversation offers a refreshing perspective on what it really takes to build something meaningful. Listen now and learn why action often beats intelligence, and why your greatest advantage may not be what you think. #WholeCEO #Entrepreneurship #Startups #Leadership #Innovation #BusinessGrowth #FounderMindset #VentureCapital #StartupAdvice #BusinessPodcast

Romans 14 confronts us with a challenging truth: the church is called to be a family full of grace and truth, not a courtroom full of critics. This passage addresses how we treat people who don't look like us, act like us, or believe exactly as we do on secondary matters. The core message reminds us that we all share three fundamental realities—we're created in God's image, we're sinners in need of a Savior, and Jesus died for each of us. When we remember that the ground is level at the foot of the cross, our perspective shifts dramatically. Paul urges us not to pass judgment, not to be stumbling blocks, and instead to pursue peace and mutual upbuilding. The discussion of food laws in the first-century church serves as a powerful metaphor for our modern disputes over preferences and convictions. Whether it's about what we eat, drink, how we educate our children, or how we celebrate holidays, we're called to prefer others over ourselves without forcing our personal convictions onto them. The question becomes: when someone walks through our doors—broken, ashamed, addicted, or simply different—will they find critics ready to throw stones, or will they find hope-filled people pointing them to Jesus?**Sermon Notes – Romans 14:13–23****Big Idea:** In non-essential issues, Christians must refuse judgment, avoid causing others to stumble, and actively pursue peace and mutual upbuilding, inside and outside the church.---### 1. Do Not Pass Judgment (v.13a)- “Let us not pass judgment on one another any longer.”- God alone is Judge; we are not.- Our tendency: - Gravitate to people who “look/act/smell/run like us.” - Judge those who don't fit our traditions or expectations.- Legalism = creating extra-biblical standards and condemning those who don't measure up.- Matthew 7:1–5 – Jesus warns against judging others while ignoring the “log” in our own eye.- John 8:1–11 – Woman caught in adultery: Jesus exposes hypocritical judges and shows grace and truth.**Key principle:** Examine yourself before criticizing others.---### 2. Do Not Be a Stumbling Block (v.13b–17, 20–23)- “Decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother.”- Issue in Romans 14: food laws, days, wine—secondary issues, not the gospel.- Jesus has declared all foods clean (Mark 7:14–23); what defiles is the heart, not the menu.- Some believers have “weaker” consciences on certain issues (food, drink, holidays, schooling, entertainment).- We must: - Refuse to make our personal convictions the standard of spirituality. - Be willing to limit our freedoms to protect others from stumbling.- “Do not…destroy the work of God for the sake of food.” (v.20)- “Whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.” (v.23)**Key principle:** My freedom is never more important than my brother or sister.---### 3. Pursue Peace and Mutual Upbuilding (v.18–19)- “Whoever thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men.”- “Let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding.”- Our flesh tears people down to feel superior; the Spirit leads us to build others up.- Philippians 2:3–4 – Count others more significant than yourselves.- The church is not a courtroom of critics but a family marked by grace and truth.- Everyone who walks in: 1. Bears God's image. 2. Is a sinner in need of a Savior. 3. Is someone for whom Christ died.**Key principle:** The ground is level at the foot of the cross.---## Practical Applications1. **Audit your judgments** - This week, notice when you internally critique someone's appearance, past, parenting, etc. Confess it immediately.2. **Protect someone's conscience** - Identify one believer whose convictions differ from yours (food, drink, media, schooling). Choose to adjust your behavior around them to prefer their conscience over your freedom.3. **Welcome the “unlike you” person** - On Sunday, intentionally greet and encourage someone who does not “run like you” (age, ethnicity, style, background).4. **Guard unity over preferences** - When tempted to argue over non-essentials, ask: “Is this worth more than our unity in Christ?” If not, let it go.---## Discussion Questions1. Where are you most tempted to judge other believers? What does that reveal about your own heart?2. Have you ever felt judged in a church setting? How did that affect your view of God and His people?3. What are some common “secondary issues” in our context that we wrongly treat as essentials?4. Can you think of a time when someone limited their freedom to protect you? How did that impact you?5. What would it look like, practically, for our church to “pursue what makes for peace and mutual upbuilding” this month?

The exchanges between the Chinese and US leaders on Thursday and Friday have provided much-needed strategic guidance for the future of China-US relations. The two sides agreed to build a "constructive China-US relationship of strategic stability". The "constructive strategic stability" means positive stability with cooperation as the mainstay, healthy stability with competition within proper limits, constant stability with manageable differences and lasting stability with expectable peace. The new vision for relations between the world's two largest economies indicates that both sides recognize the need to prevent confrontation and manage differences prudently. The Taiwan question remains the most important one among all the issues affecting bilateral ties. If it is handled properly, the Sino-US relationship will enjoy overall stability. Otherwise, China and the United States will have clashes and even conflicts, putting the entire relationship in great jeopardy.Yet certain forces in Washington continue to treat the Taiwan question as a "card" they can play to maximize US gains while claiming they value peace and stability in the region. Moves such as arms sales, political collusion and military signaling send the wrong message to "Taiwan independence" separatist forces on the Chinese island. "Taiwan independence" and cross-Strait peace are as irreconcilable as fire and water. The more external forces embolden separatist elements, the greater the risks to regional stability. The recent remarks made by the secessionist-minded leader of Taiwan, Lai Ching-te, via virtual link, at a so-called "democracy summit" in Copenhagen, once again exposed the separatist nature of the Democratic Progressive Party authorities. By attempting to portray his authorities as fighting for the "values" of the West, Lai sought external support for his separatist agenda while deliberately provoking cross-Strait tensions. The timing of Lai's remarks was particularly telling. They were delivered shortly before the US president's visit to Beijing. However, US President Donald Trump, in an interview with Fox News aired on Friday, warned the Taiwan authorities against pursuing "independence" under the illusion of unconditional US backing."They have somebody there now that wants to go independent," he said. "They want to get into a war" because "they figure they have the US behind them".Trump poured cold water on that, saying he is not looking to fight a war thousands of miles away.Yet the US leader also described Taiwan in the interview as "a very good negotiating chip" in dealing with Beijing — a remark that reflects a transactional and exploitative approach to the Taiwan question. For China-US relations to achieve steady, sound and sustainable development, the stumbling block of "Taiwan independence" must be decisively removed. The US should recognize the true nature of "Taiwan independence" forces — as alterers of the status quo in the Taiwan Strait, disruptors of cross-Strait peace, and troublemakers in regional affairs.Policymakers in Washington need to realize that the historical trend of the national reunification of China is irresistible. They should demonstrate genuine respect for China's core interests and major concerns. Beijing has made it clear that the Taiwan question is a red line in China-US ties that cannot be crossed. The outcomes achieved during the latest China-US economic and trade consultations, held in the Republic of Korea on Wednesday, demonstrate once again that despite differences and competition, China and the US still share extensive common interests and broad space for cooperation. No one should underestimate the complexity of managing China-US relations. Competition will continue to exist. Differences will not disappear overnight. But what matters most is whether both sides can manage these differences rationally, avoid strategic miscalculation and uphold the broader interests of peace and development.China and the US have more common interests than differences. The US has much to gain from a healthy Sino-US relationship and much to lose from playing unilateral tricks, zero-sum games or the "Taiwan card".Only when both sides address each other's core concerns, and especially when the US handles the Taiwan question with due prudence, can they jointly turn the agreed vision for bilateral ties into reality.

Men, by whom sin came into the world, must be consumed by God's wrath.
Men, by whom sin came into the world, must be consumed by God's wrath. The book of Zephaniah confronts the reality of God's righteous wrath against sin, vividly portrayed through imagery of cosmic judgment and the destruction of all creation, echoing the flood of Noah's day. Yet amid this terrifying proclamation, the central message emerges: God does not abandon His people, but hides them as His treasured possession in Christ, just as He preserved Noah in the ark. The prophet's warnings, rooted in divine authority and echoing the language of Deuteronomy, serve not only to convict but to point to the ultimate refuge in Jesus, who bore the full weight of God's wrath on the cross, rendering it powerless over those who trust in Him. This divine hiding is not a mere escape, but a promise of future glory, where believers will shine with Christ in the kingdom of God, having been preserved from the consuming fire of divine judgment. The sermon calls the hearer to pay close attention to God's word, not in fear alone, but in faith, recognizing that the same God who judges sin is also the God who hides His people in Christ, securing their salvation through grace.

The Education (Admission to Schools) Act 2018 has undoubtedly improved fairness and transparency. The Act for the first time required that every school publish a clear, nondiscriminatory admissions policy and that they follow an agreed common national timeline. There is no doubt that parents now have greater confidence in how places are allocated. But one unintended consequence means that Catholic schools can no longer give priority to children of Catholic families. In the opinion of Alan Hynes this is the decisive factor that has prevented communities from supporting divestment. Parents are reluctant to relinquish a denominational school if they cannot be assured that their children will have priority access to the remaining Catholic option.

We've been given many liberties in the Lord! In Romans chapter fourteen, we're given some valuable instruction on the things God may have us let go of in order to show love. Some examples might be alcohol, listening to certain music, the watching of particular TV shows. The world encourages us to indulge in these things, but in the end, they tend to interfere with God's desire for us to serve Him, and to serve and love others. This is message 19 in Gospel Record of John John 6:59-71 When the truth of Christ moves from meeting physical needs to demanding faith and surrender, the crowd begins to thin. Many are willing to follow while benefits are flowing, but they stumble when confronted with hard truth that exposes pride and calls for wholehearted trust. Jesus does not soften His message to keep followers. He forces a decision. Real discipleship is revealed when others walk away and a heart remains anchored, not because everything is understood, but because there is nowhere else to go. Eternal life is found in Him alone, and each person must decide whether to be offended and leave or believe and stay. That's what Derek, Brooke and therapist and author guest Lucy Vittrup Christensen explore in this episode. Together they explore how the pressure to fit in, the loneliness of expat life, and Denmark's open drinking and drug culture can blur the line between social habits and addiction. Lucy explains how addiction often grows from the same place as loneliness. a longing for connection, and why internationals may be more vulnerable when routines, roles, and identities shift abroad. John the Baptist exemplifies what it means to be "a voice crying in the wilderness"—someone who cries out to God rather than complains about circumstances. His journey from bold proclamation to imprisoned doubt reveals how to navigate life as a true Christ follower when God's will doesn't align with our own desires. Even when Jesus doesn't meet our expectations, we are called to trust the evidence of His work and remain faithful without being offended by His methods or timing.Julian Lowe CONNECT WITH US!Engage with this message: https://tpcc.org/messagesVisit our website: https://tpcc.orgWe believe in the power of prayer: https://tpcc.org/prayer Instagram: https://instagram.com/traderspointcc/Twitter: https://twitter.com/TradersPointCCFacebook: https://facebook.com/TradersPointCC/

Beer, bonds, and belonging in Denmark. In Denmark, alcohol isn't just a drink—it's a social shortcut. From Friday bars to school parties, booze is woven into daily life in ways that can shock newcomers. For internationals, it can feel like you have to drink just to make friends, join in at work, or even learn the language. But is that really true? And how do you handle it if you'd rather not?
