Paul wrote to the Galatians with the motivation to help turn them back to grace and the ministry of the Spirit that he had introduced to them. They had come freely to Christ by faith alone and received the Spirit apart from works ... but they would later be solicited by believing Jews who warned them they also needed certain applications from the law of Moses—starting with circumcision. It got us thinking about a question that may be difficult to answer: What if they had never been approached by the Judaizers who were baiting them into adding law/works to faith? Would they have continued on the path of grace by faith alone as Paul had ministered to them? Or would they have drifted towards feeling the need to establish or maintain their own righteousness without any outside persuasion? In other words, as humans, are elements of legalism and fleshed-based works unavoidable in this world? As God's creation, we are faced with many choices. Ask yourself, do you believe confidently in what God did through the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ, to bring you life and a righteous perfection ... or do you feel it was deficient and uncertain enough for you to work at adding something to it? It may even be something related to church ceremonial practices. Will we listen to the witness from within or the wide array of audible voices from outside? --Available on Amazon - "Clash of The Covenants: Escaping Religious Bondage Through the Grace Guarantee" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0713ZSKY7

decided on a compilation of past nuggets that never made it to the IG feed (or did they???) but came from our magical backlog of over 1100 episodes. hope you enjoy this as much as I did!Familiar will typically always be more comfortable than the unfamiliar. Even if that familiar is fairly unhealthy. Many people are miserable and comfortable. Many people can find comfort in sadness. There is no shame in it, because often, we're so used to the sadness, anger, or shame that we don't even realize there is another way. - Day 230You should never feel too cool to get enthusiastic about your life. Lean in, make your life romantic even if it's not aesthetic or instagram worthy. Move in silence, focus on your mindset, and remember regularly how fucking dope the life you've created really is.A lot of us are numbing ourselves until the bad shit we can't be numb for hits us in the teeth and then we go right back to numbing ourselves. That means some of us are literally only fully experiencing the bad shit. We are numb for the goodies and tap in only for the crisis and that is truly depressing. - Day 173Stop waiting for the other shoe to drop when good things are happening to you. You deserve good things to happen to you and they are happening because of your commitment to yourself. Just don't forget to continue that commitment by honoring what you really need in each present moment. - Day 170Gravitate towards the things that bring you joy instead of waiting for them to knock on your door. I'd like for us to pause a moment and reflect on and CELEBRATE a major milestone! Today, we are releasing out 100th Episode! We started Dear Midlife on Valentines day of 2022 and we've consistently released 1 episode every week for almost 2 full years! And today we celebrate and honor the women we were when we started this endeavor, and the women that we have become. It is fun to reflect on the growth we've both experienced since beginning our show. Each guest has touched us in unique and special ways and we've taken the tips and tools offered by each to heart and have both evolved a great deal individually and together this past couple of years. One special guest who has made an impact on us is our dear friend Heather Hope Wyszinski. 4 Years ago, after celebrating her 40th birthday, she looked in the mirror and noticed how her body had changed after years of pregnancy, corporate stress, nursing and sleep deprivation. She said she noticed she had bags under her eyes and had decided to attempt a DIY closet makeover to refresh her life when the House of Colour found her. As a franchise owner of The House of Colour, she now gets the opportunity as an image consultant to empower and inspire women, daily, to see themselves in a new light. She helps clients cultivate confidence through a color and style analysis. You see, ladies, we can control the message we convey through our non-verbal communication and the way we show up. When you look good...you feel good. Heather helps her clients develop their own authentic style and elevate their personal brand with intention by helping them understand their personal color palette and the styles that suit them. The thing we love most about Heather and her process is that she helps you to rediscover your own personal beauty. Every one of us is beautiful in our own special and unique way. Heather helps uncover your natural beauty and appearance and step into your light with confidence and authenticity. You don't need to hide behind a lot of makeup, fade into invisible with age, blend in, or get stuck in what's no longer serving you. You simply need the tools to stand out as your most unique and be-YOU-tiful self. Today we speak with Heather about her own midlife entrepreneurial journey and how she's evolved personally and professionally. Heather stepped into a new life chapter after 40 and has changed thousands of people's lives in doing so. In this episode, Heather teaches us: Sometimes we have to start new chapters messy. If we wait for perfection, we'll never get started. We provide freedom to those around us to fail, but avoid failure ourselves. Let's show ourselves the same grace we show others. It's time to operate in your zone of genius. Take stock of what you are passionate about and what you do well and do more of those things. Find opportunity to delegate or outsource tasks and activities that you are not effective or efficient at doing. Social narratives have told women time and time again that we are not enough. But, you ARE enough...and sometimes it just takes someone to show you how to lean into your most authentic self. Call her a sherpa of sass Embrace who you are and where you are now and celebrate! Reflect on what compliments that you've received over the years. They are indicators of how others see you. Gravitate towards replicating the looks and styles in which you've received the most compliments in the past. What is your next chapter? You see, here at the Dear Midlife podcast, we want to give you the tools to grow and evolve, because baby girl...THIS is our time! The second half of your life is just beginning! Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day

Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day for November 13, 2023 is: gravitate • GRAV-uh-tayt • verb To gravitate is to move, tend to move, or be attracted to or toward someone or something. // Many young people now gravitate toward careers on social media. See the entry > Examples: “... Olipop has grown into a nationwide brand and favorite among Gen Z and millennial consumers, who gravitate to the brand's eye-catching packaging and nostalgia-inducing flavors like root beer and vintage cola—many of which [CEO, Ben] Goodwin comes up with in the early hours of the morning.” — Morgan Smith and Lauren Shamo, CNBC, 16 Sept. 2023 Did you know? The force is strong in the family of words descended from the Latin adjective gravis, meaning “heavy”: gravitation has it, graviton has it, and gravitate has it, too. That force is gravity (gravity being another gravis descendent), a fundamental physical force that is responsible for bringing us literally back down to earth (or Tattooine, as it were). But you don't have to be a full-fledged linguistic Jedi, young padawan, to know that gravity, like its Latin ancestor, also has figurative meanings, as does gravitate. When it first landed in the 17th century, gravitate meant “to apply pressure or weight,” and later it maintained its connection to literal gravity with a sense (still in use today) meaning “to move under the effect of gravitation.” It then, however, acquired a more general sense of “to move toward something” (such as toward a specific location), and finally a metaphorical sense of “to be attracted,” as in, “when choosing movies to watch she often gravitates toward space operas.”

But a lot of it just has to do with the experience I've had when taking vacations, and maybe you're like me in this, that for many, many years, I would be on vacation. And it would I would find it profoundly disappointing or profoundly unsatisfying. And then I'd come home from vacation and feel like I either wasted my time or I felt tired, or I would re-enter my life like something other than refreshed and ready. So the book Sacred Strides actually commits a couple of pages in a chapter to a conversation about vacation and some reflection on our American practice of getting away and taking vacations; I've got some criticisms of how we do it. And I won't read that chapter right now. It's some stuff we'll do later on. But part of what I've figured out as, as I come to those criticisms has to do with the way I have learned to approach time away, time off, and vacation. So here's the thing that I recognize, I learned, and part of why I'm enjoying vacation time in the summer. So when I leave for a vacation, when I'm on vacation, I don't actually like having a plan. That's not to say I don't want to know where I'm going; I want to know where I'm going. I want to have a destination for sure. I want to know that I've got a place to stay, and there'll be food to eat, etc. Outside of that, I really like to keep things kind of loosey-goosey and make decisions as I go along to be stuck with, like, here's the agenda, here's what time you're supposed to be there. Here's what time it's over like. Like, that's how I live the rest of my life vacation time away. I really like not having a plan. But the problem with not having a plan is it leaves me open to impulses. And then the question is about the nature of my impulses. And in the past, this was part of my historical pattern. Because I like my work, and I like my job so much that left to do nothing, I'll just kind of gravitate towards a project or gravitate towards like doing something maybe creatively or even logistically, like that's my natural impulse, my natural pattern, because I've developed that at practice that. And so I'll spend my quote-unquote vacation time tinkering with ideas and with projects or work stuff that I would actually just be happier doing back home, in my office space where all my stuff's available to me. So I would live in this tension like, I'm only half here, the impulses, I'm actually giving myself over to find a deeper, more comprehensive fulfillment when I'm at home in my office. That doesn't tell me I spent some time over the course of years in the practice of rest, paying attention to those impulses in me; why do I gravitate towards work? Some of it really does have to do with my joy. At work, I actually love what I do. But there was this other thing that I didn't recognize in me until I started paying attention.Because an impulse is a momentary explosion of interest or desire, that means that our impulses, which were the way I was thinking about my impulses, have a lot to do with knowing what I want. And in a lot of popular religious culture, all impulse is considered problematic. And sadly, I think that's because, in a lot of our religious contexts, all desire is painted as problematic. And I had spent very little time in my life, slowing down enough to pay attention to different wants in my life. So I could verify I could acknowledge, and celebrate my desire to make something I want to make good things in the world. That's a good thing to want to do. But outside of that, I think I was nervous. Actually, no, I was nervous to ask myself, what would you want for yourself? What would feel good to you? If we weren't doing something productive? We weren't adding to the bottom line. Maybe you resonate with that, that I just wasn't trained and paying attention to my own desire to paint and paying attention to the things that I wanted to my soul is even asking for. It's been in rest and moving away from the normal and very satisfying work patterns that I've learned myself as a person. With desires and interests, it's been in rest that I've had the space to examine and measure the differences between those desires. And those interests, I would be afraid of the desire, in fact, to nap, like it felt guilty like I don't, I shouldn't want to nap, lazy people nap, or to enjoy a nicer meal, not like I don't eat like super expensive stuff, but like, I'm definitely kind of a peanut butter and jelly kind of person most of the days, and so to go out somewhere and actually get a nicer drink and a nicer like, I was afraid to confess to myself that those were things that would actually satisfy my soul in a unique way. See, there are, without question, competing interests and desires in me. And if I don't give myself space and time to recognize them, and examine them, then I can't weigh the one versus the other and actually go ahead and choose better desires over lesser ones or even know the metric by which I'm making that decision. And I think this is where cheap religion and deep religion have their most profound difference. In cheap religion, it's just really simple. You're a corrupt vessel. And the only good in you is what gets injected into you either by your religion or by a Savior who doesn't really like you and tells you we're better than you are already. In deep religion, there are seeds of desire in you that if you chase them, if you follow them, they will lead you to good places because you were designed good by a loving and Good God, who holds your life together, as it is in a posture of joy, and love. And yes, in fact, desire. One of the experiences I have come to in vacation time is I get to be met by the same guy that meets me at work. I get to be met in fun, in recreation, and in that big, fat map.Rest. Far from just being a thing I do between work projects, it is a space in which I get to pay attention to myself and my desires. So that when I separate myself from my life's normal patterns, I can experience joys I wouldn't otherwise know.

When starting out, you may want to capture research to better understand your target market.  This can be super informative.  However, not all forms of research are created equal.  Let's talk about the different types and when to leverage each so you don't get bad data. How to launch a profitable B2B SaaS business for less than $750 - https://nxtstep.io/b2bsaasEpisode Transcript Hey folks, Sean here, and in this episode I want to talk to you more about a topic that comes up quite a bit as it pertains to the research that you wanna do to figure out which problems you wanna solve for your B2B SaaS customers. Now, there's different ways to gather feedback from a target market. For the most part, those break down into two categories. There's qualitative and there's quantitative types of data that you can collect. For the most part, the qualitative data usually takes the form of interviews or conversations for you to learn more from a target market. And there's different ways to gather that, which I'll talk about next. The second or quantitative is usually some form of asynchronous method of capturing information from a similar target market, like surveys, for example. Now, In the beginning, I hugely favor qualitative over quantitative, and I'm gonna explain why. But what I want to inform you of is that most people are often very interested in collecting survey data, and there's for various reasons for this, I'm sure, but I believe that to be a trap in the beginning because it can severely limit what you can learn, and it could also be misleading, pointing you in the wrong direction. Here's why. Because in the beginning, if you don't know your target market intimately well enough, as in if you haven't had a decent number of conversations with them in one-on-one capacity, then it's gonna be really difficult to create an effective survey because you're not necessarily gonna know which questions are more relevant than others. As such, this is why I'm a huge favor in, in huge, in favor of the qualitative conversations and capturing that type of data first, because that's gonna enable you to learn some of the most important and relevant information. And it will also inform your ability to create the best surveys as well. So let's talk about the different types of qua qualitative information that you can collect when performing this research. Now, there's two different methods that this breaks down into as well. Also, There's one-on-one conversations, really a personalized approach. There's also different types of group conversations, like focus groups, which you've probably heard of before. You may have been part of one on either side as well. Also, I'm also not a huge fan of focus groups. I. Also, especially in the beginning, and the reason for that is it's susceptible to a number of different problems. Two that I can think of right away is what I call group think. That's where the consensus of the room seems to be heading in a direction, but that other people in the room are more than likely just.Gravitate or want to kind of go along with the flow in terms of where the room is heading, if a few, and that can be misleading because it could be a few people in the room dominating the conversation and taking it in a direction that other people in the room don't agree with, but are kind of unwilling to just fight that what seems to be inevitable or just natural so far in the dialogue that's happening in the room.Groupthink is a big problem with focus groups. Uh, the other one is the loudest voice, which is related to that, where someone's being adamant about something or maybe combative, whatever it is. Other folks in the room may not feel comfortable speaking up or fighting that momentum for whatever reason. So, You can get a lot of misleading information.Now. It sounds great, it sounds efficient, and it sounds like you could kind of do everything all at once. But that's like, uh, which I've said the other day, 10 women making a baby in a month. It's not really, that might be possible from a theoretical perspective, but in practice it doesn't work like that.So instead, hu, I'm a huge advocate for personalized one-on-one conversations, especially in the beginning. Uh, a qualitative nature so that you can figure out what type of information's most relevant, what questions work best, and how to get the information that's gonna inform all of your decisions from here.Do a series of those and then you'll get better at them along the way. Plus, you'll learn better information as you get a better understanding and what you should be asking. And where the areas of opportunity are. So that process will naturally become more efficient and more effective. And then from what you learn, investing in that process, that can inform other more efficient methods you might wanna leverage at scale. And that's where you can consider some quantitative methods that will have a high impact as well too, like issuing surveys because now you know how to design that survey because you've had enough one-on-one conversations to understand the patterns. And his disciples came to him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds of the field.” He answered, “The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, and the good seed is the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one, and the enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels. Just as the weeds are gathered and burned with fire, so will it be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all causes of sin and all law-breakers, and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father.
