Jarom and Tanner are back and a little distracted with the Hawks playing at the same time as they record. They break down the losing streak reaching 4 games, coming home and finally getting that first win against Detroit, Lankinen stepping up in a big way, and the dominant Hawks power play. They also discuss the Laine/PLD swap, the Washington Russians breaking covid protocol, NBCSN shutting down, and much more.
This week on Long Walks and Robots...A thousand apologies for the optical scorching placed upon thee. The boys lament over the visual assault known as Tokyo Gore Police and Archenemy. Ryan and Shane Netflix and chill as they expose their queues to each other. I think Shane likes Cobra Kai, like more than a friend. Apparently Ryan finds the potty humor of Big Mouth's new season unsettling. The boys unfurl some binge options for the last week before WandaVision.Cyberpunk is still broken, but Cloudpunk is okay I guess? Enjoy!

Amelia reading an excerpt from Jenna Jameson’s memoir to see if Pitney can guess which celebrity about whom she was spilling some rather interesting sexual tea. Then a bit of cattiness about some Rush superfans. And finally, Pitney takes us on a woo shopping trip through Target. Bon appetit! Promos: 2 Skeptical Chaps and Thanks For Coming! This week I am talking about appropriation of queer culture and misogyny in queer culture. And, let me tell you it gets MESSY! This is just one of those things that has no one right answer and nothing is clean cut. But, what I will say is there needs to be more truth and lessons taught about what the LGBTQ+ community as brought to us as a nation and there needs to be a talk about how we should act when we are invited into their safe spaces. In this episode I talk about Ryan White if you honestly do not know who this is please start here https://ryanwhite.com/ I also have a lot of people in my DM's Thanks first to Seth from the podcast Thanks For Coming (@tfcpod) he is the one that helped me when I was debating with myself about doing this episode and was the one who encouraged me to do it. Seth thank you and I am so grateful. You can hear from Seth, Jamal and Stony every Monday on Thanks For Coming the Podcast that not only talks about Drag Race but also openly discusses life in the LBGTQ+. Jamal's DM is in my episode on Black History and I am on their show recapping Season 11's Monster Ball Episode. I also here from Trisha (@Pkittytrisha) Trisha is a sister of Perpetual Indulgence, and has worked very hard over the years to be an Ally to all people in the queer community if you want to learn more about the sisters please look here. https://www.thesisters.org/ I would also like to thank Rachael, and Holly for helping me out and giving me their opinions in my DM's. And, last but not least Adam. He is a very special person in my life and I am happy that he wanted to help this week. This episode once again was not easy to make because I had to be really honest with myself about what I have done that could have been part of this problem, but we do not grow as people if we are not honest about what we have done to others in our pasts. Please feel free to comment and get with me about how you feel about this episode, or about what you think I said that was wrong or right. I want to be and do better and I am willing to listen so that I can do that. If you have a podcast and you would like to be mentioned in the break please send me a message! Shep Hyken interviews Ryan Minton. They discuss his new book, “Thanks for Coming in Today,” the hospitality industry, employee and customer appreciation, and the concept of aggressive hospitality. In Shep’s Opening Monologue... He discusses current trends in the digital customer service world. The Interview with Ryan Minton:Having employees with a mentality of hospitality is always preferable to having employees with technical know-how.A successful business comes not only from having happy customers, but from having happy employees.Make a habit of showing appreciation to everyone in your business—employees, colleagues, and customers. Appreciation goes a long way.Operate with “aggressive hospitality.” Good customer service isn’t passive; it’s active, and you need to pursue it.Look forward to opportunities where you get to be someone’s first boss and use those opportunities to mentor your employees in the ways of good customer service. You get to establish what it means to be great manager or leader.Eliminate the phrase, “let me check with my manager” by giving your employees the tools and trust to handle issues.Empathy is crucial in delivering a positive customer experience. Put yourself in the customer’s shoes and allow that to drive your customer service.About: Charles Ryan Minton is a customer service and employee experience expert, keynote speaker, author of, Thanks for Coming in Today: Creating a Culture Where Employees Thrive & Customer Service is Alive, and the president of CRM Hospitality & Consulting, LLC. The meaty topic of auditions is on the menu this week, and somehow Rhapsody in Blue pops us twice in 32 minutes. ANAM Artistic Director Nick Deutsch joins us to share his experiences and stories of tears and triumph and how they do it in Europe, and we’re joined by ANAM horn player Alex Morton who makes what’s probably a copyright infringement during our Minute of Mimicry. We share a few collected stories from our friends and fellow auditionees who’ve experienced varying degrees of misfortune and therefore hilarity during the gruelling audition process. Why cry when you can laugh?
It's been a minute, but here's the latest all vinyl offering, part of a creativity trial I'm involved with called Sanity Project. It's about recycling beats and materials as a means of forging new ideas and reclaiming creative vitality. Being resourceful and attentive. Diligent. Organic. Even if it's painfully revealing. So far, so good. I haven't buried myself yet and that's the point...to be alive at the end of this saga. Another all-vinyl mix from the bedroom. These are all new to me, but found randomly in the record shop bins. None were heard prior to purchase. All were selected from the gut. I am sure some of these are already played out in the clubs and well passé, since it has been awhile since I have stepped out on the scene. This mix is dedicated to all the bangin' summer festivals, djs, artists, dancers and nomads. Viva Techno!
