Will Downing's daughter, Aron Siobhan Downing, tragically died by suicide on January 11, 2023. She had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, depression, and schizophrenia. In her memory, Will Downing released a heartfelt song titled “Till We Meet Again,” aiming to raise awareness about mental health and provide comfort to those facing similar challenges. You will see the video in tonight's episode, which Mr. Downing gave us permission to include in this interview. He joins Dr. Delvena on the couch and courageously opened up about this devastating chapter, shedding light on the importance of mental health and the need for support, love, and understanding. His story reminds us to check in on our loved ones and ensure no one feels alone in their struggles. This unimaginable pain has touched not only his family but also countless others who share in their grief. Let's honor her memory by continuing the conversation around mental health and reaching out to those who might be suffering in silence. If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out for help. You are not alone.

In this episode, Linnea Larsdotter Mikkelä, creative director and president of NIFF, Nordic International Film Festival, takes us on an inspiring walk-through of this year's festival program. We talk about the identity of Nordic filmmaking, and why the 2022 Cannes Film Festival was the busiest festival ever for Nordic filmmakers, among them Ruben Östlund, who won his second Palme d'Or with Triangle of Sadness, Tarik Saleh with Cairo-set Boy From Heaven, and Iranian-Danish director Ali Abbasi's Holy Spider, the story of an Iranian serial killer. The vision behind NIFF, is to build bridges between filmmakers in the Nordic region and the international film community, by finding diverse independent films with strong characters and storylines, that encourage all filmmakers to submit their films, regardless of ethnicity, religion, or worldviews. Linnea is a much-acclaimed actress and film producer in her own right. Till We Meet Again is a romantic adventure drama film directed by Thai filmmaker Bank Tangjaitrong and starring Johan Matton, Linnea Larsdotter, Emrhys Cooper and Vithaya Pansringarm. The film was written and produced by Johan Matton - who also co-founded NIFF with Linnea in 2014 - and won awards at several film festivals, including the Audience and Jury prizes at the Long Beach International Film Festival, and Linnea won best actress at NYLAIFF, New York Los Angeles International Film Festival. Till We Meet Again by Allen SweetsirIn 1936 Berlin, an unlikely friendship develops between Sidney Klein, the son of an American Army officer, and Klaus Bergman, the son of a Nazi SS officer. Although they are of complete polar opposites when it comes to the political spectrum, they develop a trust and friendship that will remain throughout the coming world war. When they part ways after the end of school, they promise each other, "Till we meet again."Neither of the friends could possibly guess that their paths would cross again in the least likely of places and under the most unusual of circumstances. Their career choices will lead them along very similar, yet diverse paths. Their combat experiences are quite different, but both are equally affected by the death and destruction of war.Sidney's girlfriend, Rachel, travels with her Aunt Sylvia to Germany to help Sylvia's Uncle Abraham close his shop and move out of Germany. It is also to be an opportunity for Rachel to experience the city nightlife of Berlin. A series of events that result in Rachel and Aunt Sylvia losing their passports and coming to the attention of German authorities sees them being arrested and sent first to jail and then the concentration camps.Sidney makes a difficult decision to join the OSS (Office of Strategic Services) in order to get to Germany and rescue his beloved Rachel. He uses all available means to locate where Rachel is being held and does his utmost to be placed in a position to liberate her.Life in the concentration camp is brutal, dangerous, and subject to mistreatment. Both women are fortunate in possessing skills that make them "essential" personnel, extending their lives and probably improving their chances for survival. As the war draws to a close, Sidney is leading a rescue party headed for the camp at Dachau, and Rachel. Little does he suspect that the promise he and Klaus Bergman made so many years ago will be fulfilled. They will meet again in the living hell called Dachau.https://www.amazon.com/Till-Meet-Again-Allen-Sweetsir/dp/1662469608http://www.bluefunkbroadcasting.com/root/twia/kpp61622.mp3

Ah, the year is 1989 and the world hasn't yet realised the potential of two soon-to-be superstars of the late 20th century. We are of course referring to none other than Hugh Grant and the wonderful Courteney Cox, who star together in this two-episode television miniseries based on the 1988 Judith Krantz novel, Till We Meet Again. In the full swing of the First World War in 1915, Eve (played by Lucy Gutteridge) meets Paul de Lancel (played by Michael York) while performing for the army and falls in love with him. Devastated by Paul working in the army and his continued absence, his wife Laure (played by Susannah Harker) kills herself. After this, her family swear revenge on Paul by keeping his and Laure's son Bruno (played by Hugh Grant) and raising him to hate his father... Make sure you're following Taking Hugh for Granted on Instagram and Facebook (@TakingHughforGranted) as well as Twitter (@TakingHugh). You can get in touch with us there or via our email takinghughforgranted@gmail.com Unsure who we're on about? Hugh Grant is a British actor who is best known for starring in films like Love Actually, Notting Hill and The Undoing alongside huge stars such as Nicole Kidman and Julia Roberts. In 2022, Hugh Grant continues to make movies and has a wife and kids.
