Do you want happiness, a quiet mind, a certainty of purpose, and a sense of worth and beauty that transcends the world? Do you want care and safety, and the warmth of sure protection always? Do you want a quietness that cannot be disturbed, a gentleness that never can be hurt, a deep, abiding comfort, and a rest so perfect it can never be upset?All this forgiveness offers you, and more. It sparkles on your eyes as you awake, and gives you joy with which to meet the day. It soothes your forehead while you sleep, and rests upon your eyelids so you see no dreams of fear and evil, malice and attack. And when you wake again, it offers you another day of happiness and peace. All this forgiveness offers you, and more.Forgiveness lets the veil be lifted up that hides the face of Christ from those who look with unforgiving eyes upon the world. It lets you recognize the Son of God, and clears your memory of all dead thoughts so that remembrance of your Father can arise across the threshold of your mind. What would you want forgiveness cannot give? What gifts but these are worthy to be sought? What fancied value, trivial effect or transient promise, never to be kept, can hold more hope than what forgiveness brings?Why would you seek an answer other than the answer that will answer everything? Forgiveness offers everything I want. What could you want forgiveness cannot give? Do you want peace? Forgiveness offers it. Do you want happiness, a quiet mind, a certainty of purpose, and a sense of worth and beauty that transcends the world? Do you want care and safety, and the warmth of sure protection always? Do you want a quietness that cannot be disturbed, a gentleness that never can be hurt, a deep, abiding comfort, and a rest so perfect it can never be upset? All this forgiveness offers you, and more. It sparkles on your eyes as you awake, and gives you joy with which to meet the day. It soothes your forehead while you sleep, and rests upon your eyelids so you see no dreams of fear and evil, malice and attack. And when you wake again, it offers you another day of happiness and peace. All this forgiveness offers you, and more. Forgiveness lets the veil be lifted up that hides the face of Christ from those who look with unforgiving eyes upon the world. It lets you recognize the Son of God, and clears your memory of all dead thoughts so that remembrance of your Father can arise across the threshold of your mind. What would you want forgiveness cannot give? What gifts but these are worthy to be sought? What fancied value, trivial effect or transient promise, never to be kept, can hold more hope than what forgiveness brings? Why would you seek an answer other than the answer that will answer everything? Here is the perfect answer, given to imperfect questions, meaningless requests, half-hearted willingness to hear, and less than halfway diligence and partial trust. Here is the answer! Seek for it no more. You will not find another one instead. God's plan for your salvation cannot change, nor can it fail. Be thankful it remains exactly as He planned it. Changelessly it stands before you like an open door, with warmth and welcome calling from beyond the doorway, bidding you to enter in and make yourself at home, where you belong. Here is the answer! Would you stand outside while all of Heaven waits for you within? Forgive and be forgiven. As you give you will receive. There is no plan but this for the salvation of the Son of God. Sometimes you're fortunate enough to meet someone by chance and your interaction — even if short, has a significant impact on your life. When I happened upon Tom Scannell in May of 2020 during a family trip to Pine Island, Florida, I knew I'd found a fellow freedom fighter in this humble yet extremely driven lifelong, extremely fit farmer. He gave us a tour of his Pineshine Farms, patiently answered my barrage of questions and very generously gave me a book that is now one of my favorite reads: Everything I Want to do is Illegal by Joel Salatin, owner of Polyface Farms.Tom is a rebel in the agricultural space. He had to unlearn most of what he was taught to grow “beyond organic” food in a regenerative fashion, and I admire his focuses on appreciating beauty in Nature and harmonizing with our natural resources. I also love that he's not afraid to “fail forward” nor speak the truth, whether it means exposing the ties between big agriculture and the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, discussing the war on real milk or pointing out the scary fact that just four meat processors control ninety percent of the United States industry. Salatin's book goes into excellent detail on this, as well as the ridiculous hurdles our government (funded by big ag) makes small farmers jump in order to run their operations. It's hair-pull-out maddening!Tom rightfully comments that in today's terribly busy and off track society that Americans “take better care of their cars than their bodies… and spend more on lawn care than growing food.” Do not despair as there is plenty of hope within his message! Tom also explains how the environment in which we live and the foods we consume can help us greatly in creating or regaining our health. Dearest wonderful listeners, from this episode we're changing things up a bit, not to mess with your minds but simply because we wanted to play more songs from recent Eurovision history. In this, our sixteenth episode, we debut our 'Last 5 years' category with the brilliant Mata Hari by Efendi, one of the songs that formed our soundtrack to living in Stockholm in 2021. We follow this with our previous 10 years category (Yep that's 2008 to 2107 - keep up at the back!) and that headphone-obsessed Slovenian duo Maraaya from 2015. There's a lot of excitement about this years' Czechia entry by Vesna, but back in 2002 it was Croatia's Vesna who was causing a fuss as she writhed around to Everything I Want on the stage in Tallinn. Vesna is the first in our new and ridiculously mammoth 1956-2007 slot! Or the Eurovision Archive as we are rather rudely calling it. Next up we have everyone's favourite scouser, the diminutive Sona who represented the UK in 1993 at Millstreet, Ireland, and only missed out on winning thanks to a truly bizarre set of points from Malta. We might forgive them one day, but it's unlikely. The Semi-Final exit slot brings us the joy that is the irrepressible Donna and Joe McCaul, a little-known (and little in size) Irish duo that Andy adores. He has a similar passion for what is the most current Deuce award we've ever included: Ulrikke Brandstorp who came second to Queen of Kings in the recent Melodi Grand Prix final in Norway with the wondrous power ballad Honestly. Finally, the Randomiser lives up to its name and offers up Liora singing Amen for Israel, in Ireland once again, who secured a top 10 finish in 1995. "But what is the theme of the episode?' I hear you cry? Well, Ryan thought he was on to winner when he noted that several of the artists have their own businesses, Efendi owns a sweet shop for instance, and Liora is a yoga teacher. Aside from this we realised after we recorded that there's a lot of performances in Ireland and of course there's pocket-sized Donna and Joe, so, yep, 'Entrepreneurs and, er, Leprechauns' it is. Do not turn away in aimless wandering again. Accept salvation now. It is the gift of God, and not the world. The world can give no gifts of any value to a mind that has received what God has given as its own. God wills salvation be received today, and that the intricacies of your dreams no longer hide their nothingness from you. Open your eyes today and look upon a happy world of safety and of peace. Forgiveness is the means by which it comes to take the place of hell. In quietness it rises up to greet your open eyes, and fill your heart with deep tranquility as ancient truths, forever newly born, arise in your awareness. What you will remember then can never be described. Yet your forgiveness offers it to you. Remembering the gifts forgiveness gives, we undertake our practicing today with hope and faith that this will be the day salvation will be ours. Earnestly and gladly will we seek for it today, aware we hold the key within our hands, accepting Heaven's answer to the hell we made, but where we would remain no more. Morning and evening do we gladly give a quarter of an hour to the search in which the end of hell is guaranteed. Begin in hopefulness, for we have reached the turning point at which the road becomes far easier. And now the way is short that yet we travel. We are close indeed to the appointed ending of the dream. Sink into happiness as you begin these practice periods, for they hold out the sure rewards of questions answered and what your acceptance of the answer brings. Today it will be given you to feel the peace forgiveness offers, and the joy the lifting of the veil holds out to you. Before the light you will receive today the world will fade until it disappears, and you will see another world arise you have no words to picture. Now we walk directly into light, and we receive the gifts that have been held in store for us since time began, kept waiting for today. Forgiveness offers everything you want. Today all things you want are given you. Let not your gifts recede throughout the day, as you return again to meet a world of shifting change and bleak appearances. Retain your gifts in clear awareness as you see the changeless in the heart of change; the light of truth behind appearances. Be tempted not to let your gifts slip by and drift into forgetfulness, but hold them firmly in your mind by your attempts to think of them at least a minute as each quarter of an hour passes by. Remind yourself how precious are these gifts with this reminder, which has power to hold your gifts in your awareness through the day: Forgiveness offers everything I want.
