Premchand wrote boldly and fearlessly about his times. He wrote of abject poverty and desperation, he wrote against feudalism and for betterment of women. He spoke of the evils that plagued society in his times…and those evils sadly still continue to haunt us to this day. But there was this other side to Premchand that I find fascinating. That was his sparkling wit and humour. He saw all the ugliness in the world for what it was and yet he managed to smile…even laugh…his laugh was famously raucous and free spirited. I have read his deeply emotional, unflinchingly empathetic stories and they are moving like none other but I have to confess I most enjoy reading of his everyday life, which he documents with humour and lightheartedness that's like coming up for air.

It's been nearly 19 years to the day since we have had restrictions on taking liquids through onto the aircraft. Almost 2 decades of decanting our toiletries into small containers, of getting held up because we forgot to empty our water bottles, and countless expensive bottles of perfume have no doubt been confiscated. For pilots and flight attendants, it changed the way we work!Do you remember why though? It's something we are so used to now that many of us don't remember what led us to that place. And it all started in the UK. A local terrorist plot that had consequences worldwide and changed aviation and travel forever. In today's episode of The Red Eye, we have a dramatization of the events of that day. The day that the liquids were banned on planes.Music Credits for The Liquids BanOminous & Gloomy - Music by ViraMiller from PixabaySnowy Peaks pt I - Chris HaugenYacoby - SchwartzySound Effects by freesound_community from Pixabay Sound Design by Ally MurphySend us a text! But there is one place he's not allowed to dig: the glove box in her car. She always tells him: "It is not for you Gregory - at least not yet." Many years later, Gregory gets to discover the magic that was kept inside - a magic that could show him something very dear to both him and his grandmother. Most pilots are incredibly upstanding people. They have a very serious job that has taken years of training and discipline. But they do also need to be good with people. Working as a team is crucial for both safety reasons, and for a smooth trip with colleagues when you reach your destination. So when we were told this true story of a pilot causing scandal and upset whilst down route in Jamaica, we couldn't believe that he'd gotten through the recruitment process without someone spotting that he was a total liability!Music Credits for The Layover LiabilityRelaxing Piano - Music by Clavier Clavier from PixabayChill Reggae - Music by Jerome Chauvel from Pixabay Friends and Things - Music by Brotheration Records from PixabaySound Effects by Send us a text! It's crazy when you think about it, but every pilot must have their first ever flight with passengers on. We will never know about it, but up the front that rookie pilot with a handful of flying hours in their pocket will be sweating, nervous and then haul a whopping great aircraft into the air with real live people on it. They suddenly have the lives of lots of people in their hands! Crazy right?!We got the chance to chat with a brave pilot who was surprisingly happy to share his first experience - which was nearly his last! We're very grateful that the mistake was discovered in time, and we bet the passengers are better off being none the wiser!Music Credits for Cabin PressureThe Plan's Working - Cooper Cannell Sound Effects by freesound_community from Pixabay Sound Design by Ally MurphySend us a text! In this story, Suryabala has written with great tenderness and compassion of the destructive storm that rages in a woman's heart, while on the surface she seems as calm as a deep river. How long before she asks for more than a staid secure life?

Lots of Flight Attendants move on to different careers in the Emergency Services. W dobie algorytmów, prawdziwe historie rodzą się tam, gdzie spotyka się doświadczenie i młodość. Poznaj tę perspektywę w tym podcaście.Technologia potrafi dzielić. I to ostro. Nic nowego. Nic strasznego. W coraz bardziej stechnicyzowanym świecie, gdzie algorytmy podpowiadają, co mamy czuć, ludzkie emocje pozostają takie same.

On June 10th 1990. Captain Tim Lancaster took off from Birmingham Airport to Malaga, when he reached 17,000ft, the window blew out and he got sucked out with it.Cabin Crew member Nigel Ogden, along with Chief Steward John Heward and flight attendant Simon Rogers held on to their captain's legs and refused to let go. First Officer Alastair Aitchison expertly landed the plane in Southampton. The crew thought Tim was dead, but miraculously he survived. Breezy love story
Qurratulain Hyder could weave a story in a manner that was quick in its pace and yet lingering in its mood. Her characters, often from urban backgrounds, live lives riddled with irony, while Qurratulain Hyder narrates their story with sardonic humour.One of the sharpest minds of her times, she spread her wings wide in the literary skies- she wrote for newspapers, short stories, memoirs and that magnificent historical novel, Aag Ka Dariya ( that she later translated into English herself as River of Fire)- a novel that encompasses the fates of four recurring characters over two and a half millennia. Let's listen today to a story that well illustrates her sparkling skills as a storyteller par excellence! -----About this channel: On this Youtube channel, you can listen to Hindi and Urdu Stories by famous writers of Hindi sahitya/ literature. Listen to Hindi kahaniyan and Urdu Kahaniyan by famous as well as lesser known writers. You will find here stories from everyone from Premchand to Ismat Chughtai ; Suryabala to Mohan Rakesh, Kaleshwar and Mannu Bhandari.---There are certain tropes that one comes across in Hindi narratives, whether it be stories, TV series or films. One such is that of the mother suffering at the hands of her adult children. While one can argue that it is not far from reality, one has to admit that it is only in the hands of an accomplished writer that the nuances come through and words spoken by characters come alive, elevating the story above the mundane. Storyjam,podcast,Bhisham sahani,Bhisham Sahni,Hindi,kahani,kahaniyan,literature,Hindi literature,books,hindi books,hindi kahani,khoon ka rishta class 11,hindi audio story,urdu audio story,radio story,audible,progressive writers,bedtime stories,hindi mein kahani,saag meat,radio storytelling,chief ki dawat,chief ki dawat class 12,chief ki dawat kahani,chief ki dawat by bhisham sahni
