After Jaymee's mother, artist Victoria Roberts, had survived a horribly abusive childhood by establishing a foundational relationship with God being Love, she arrived in London in 1971 at the age of 18 and was instantly swept into the inner circle of rock legends The Who and The Faces. The first time Who drummer Keith Moon met Victoria at The Roundhouse in London in 1971, he confessed his innermost feelings of guilt over the accidental death of his driver and bodyguard Neil Boland just months before, a rare showing of vulnerability from the late rock legend. Victoria taught Ronnie Wood from the Faces (now The Rolling Stones) how to ice skate around that time, and was with The Faces when they trashed Alice Cooper's after party at the legendary Rainbow Theatre while he was still performing on stage. A year later, after listening to Stephen Stills first solo record in 1972, she simply imagined herself hanging out with him... two months later, Victoria was searching for an unlocked window at Stephen Stills Boulder, CO home to climb through, hellbent on cleaning the house, which from the outside looked trashed and partied in heavily. What'd Stephen do when he arrived home a few days later when he found her as an intruder in his home? He gave her a job for the next year as his live-in assistant/housekeeper. Victoria's life is an exemplarily demonstration of how thought can physically manifest, and how one can radical heal themselves and others through self love and living a life of honesty. She shares her multi-layered process of healing herself from the unspeakable horrors of her youth, how an accidental psilocybin trip at 16 years old played an integral role, and how on multiple occasions in life she talked herself out of being raped by discussing her spiritual healing with each looming aggressors. Victoria's life is also a great example that you may find your artistic voice in late in the game, and how simple and beautifully sweet it it all can be. They normally work on trucks - but this week a team of good samaritans is building bikes for a group of deserving kids. They're this week's KRLD Difference Makers. They keep some of the largest fleets of vehicles rolling across the U.S.  "FleetPride is the largest heavy-duty distributor of heavy-duty truck parts and service in the United States," said Victoria Roberts who is the Director of Marketing. "We supply all of the world's commercial fleets. We keep the U.S. running." Now the team at FleetPride is using their skills to build bikes for hundreds of kids in need. "We are working in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Tarrant County to build bicycles," Victoria said.  The kids said they wanted two wheels so they could "go wherever they want." Victoria says the team is always looking for ways to give back. Previously, the team built wheelchairs for the elderly and donated $30,000 to St. Judes Children's Hospital after donating a portion of their proceeds on North Texas Giving Day.  We're proud to call Victoria Roberts and FleetPride this week's KRLD Difference Maker "They have several kids that are very excited to receive these so I can't wait to see pictures. I think they are going to be very surprised," Victoria said.  If you know someone making a difference in the community, send us an email at differencemaker@krld.com.    Image courtesy of Victoria Roberts

By the 1980’s, Victoria was introduced to and fell in love with the idea of using found objects in art, studying under Assemblage artist Ron Robertson in Santa Barbara. The 90’s found Victoria branching off in another direction—she started a business selling art and antiques, and eventually managing major art shows including the Los Angeles Art Show, American Indian Art Show Marin, The Great Southwestern Antique Show, and Brian Lebel’s Old West Shows. After years of working in the antique and art business, her focus turned to assemblage art. Her current works are infused with her lifelong devotion to art, with the inspiration she gained from her experience in both the art and antique worlds.Victoria Roberts, Los Angeles native and New Mexico transplant, stops by to discuss her life and art from her roots in cell animation to her affinity for breathing new life into old items.

Ooh we can’t wait for you to get stuck into this week’s podcast!  Selina got together with Victoria Roberts - body image and intimacy coach and certified sexological bodyworker to talk about sex, self-love and orgasms and everything in between.  It is as juicy a podcast episode as you might expect it to be.  They talked about the taboo around discussing sex openly and honestly in our society - where that comes from and the impact it can have on us, the importance of exploring and experimenting when it comes to our bodies and what turns them on and why sometimes it’s best to take the orgasm off the menu for a bit to focus on the other aspects of sex and learning how to give your body pleasure all over.  Victoria shared LOADS of practical tips about how to get back in touch with your body and improve your sex life, whether you’re in a relationship, single or somewhere in between.  So sit back, relax and enjoy this juicy episode!

For our second podcast in the series ‘Women who follow their hearts’ I got to interview one of my clients - the wonderful Victoria Roberts. Victoria came to me when she was living a fast-paced life in London, burning the candle at many ends and while it was fun and money was good, she was burnt out and knew this wasn’t what she wanted to do with the rest of her life. But she felt stuck and miserable and couldn't see any way forward. After that first teary phonecall Vic embarked on an amazing journey during which we saw her transform her relationship with herself, her love life, how she lives and what she does for a career. She is a wonderful and inspiring example of someone who, despite the fear (and there was a lot of it at times) I won’t spoil the surprise and tell you what her new career path is but I will say that in October she will be our special guest on our Project Love Salon that month and we expect it to be packed out… So with that I will leave you to have a listen in. My heart was bursting by the end of it - I hope you’ll find it equally as inspiring and heart-warming.
