Today I sit down with the amazing Megan Lohne and Dan Ciba, we talk theater at this moment and there up coming shows The Great American Science Fair and Crumbs, information for both shows can be found at the below website. https://www.adelphialumniplaywrightsgroup.com/ I'm really excited about speaking to my new play, where seven female scientists are brought on to the reality show The Great American Science Fair, competing in a series of experiments to please the American public over the course of an evening in the hopes that they will win the million-dollar prize to further fund their research. Filmed in front of a live studio audience, you, The Great American Science Fair is an interactive glimpse into the gender-biased world of science through the gentle and palatable gaze of everyone’s favorite guilty pleasure, reality television. Watch what happens when the contestants test the hypothesis to see if the Future of Science is indeed Female. The Great American Science Fair is streaming Saturday, April 24th at 7:30 pm. Dan Ciba is directing: https://www.danielciba.com/ Dan has also written a piece for the festival which goes up 5/2 titled Crumbs, which was inspired by Hansel & Gretel. This reimagining of the Hansel and Gretel fairy tale concerns two sisters as they grapple with their journey into adulthood. Mixed with musings on childhood innocence, personal loss, and the inscrutability of memory, Crumbs considers how the past continually informs the present. But as Hannah and Greta run away, get lost, and meet their witch, can they resist the familiar story— the awkward legacy that casts them as justified murderers—and find their own path forward?

Along with her artistic endeavors Caren is also an educator at Whole Foods and has some amazing information about nutrition. If you are trying to get off sugar as so many of you are, give this a listen. Thanks Caren. Here are some notes from Caren: Here are my food ingredients guidelines: If I can't pronounce it, do I really want to eat it? If it has more than 5 ingredients, I won’t eat it. Is it real food? Food is simple. Chemicals make food last longer, and food isn't designed to last long in the body. A few years ago New England Journal of Medicine stated that minute amounts of pesticides can contribute to tumor growth. We need much more testing and food label requirements before allowing GMOs into our food stream. Thankfully there are many orgs tracing food sourcing and putting that on food labels. Majority of Europe bans GMO. Celery juice is absolutely great, but any green juice is fantastic and low alkaline. (Most bodies are highly acidic.) Celery has multiple nutrients, but currently social media is highlighting its ability to cleanse the body and liver. Juicing allows nutrients to bypass the digestive process, which is incredibly taxing on the body, organs, and requires a lot of energy. Consequently, juicing delivers the vitamins and nutrients directly to the bloodstream, where they are readily absorbed.
