In Advent, We Watch, Anticipate and Prepare for Jesus’ Return, but Secular Temptations Are Everywhere; Self-Denial Keeps Our Advent Focus MESSAGE SUMMARY: In a time in which we hear so much about self-help, self-image, and self-actualization, Jesus is saying self-denial is the way to life. Taking up one’s cross means to die to self-ambitions, as we are told by Jesus in Matthew 10:38-39: “And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.”. When we die to our self-ambitious and put them on the cross, the Jesus’ life moves through us -- “Not my will but Thy will.”. By denying self, we become a new person who is alive through Jesus; and the Holy Spirit flows through us, as we are told by Paul in Galatians 6:14-17: “But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. For neither circumcision counts for anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation. And as for all who walk by this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God. From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.”.   TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Anger. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Forgiveness. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5). SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Matthew 16:24; Mathew 10:38-39; Galatians 6:14-17. Jeph Loeb gets the boot from Marvel TV because Kevin Feige is a boss while D.B. Weiss and David Benioff walk away from making a Star Wars trilogy to work with Netflix. Miracles do exist. Our Recent Review this week is Terminator: Dark Fate. "There is no fate but what we make." Or something like that. It must be dark because it's Daylight Savings Time. Definitely not a fate thing. We Watch the Watchmen is back and we talk about the 3rd episode. If you haven't watched this show yet, what is wrong with you? Welcome back to Gaming with Gage, your podcast for Roleplaying Games and the Periphery. Thanks for being hereWelcome, welcome, welcome to Season Five! We’re so excited to have you here, as we kick off another season of Gaming with Gage. It’s so wonderful to be back and we have some exciting things planned.First, we’ve launched our very own Patreon so those of you who would like to support the show can! Patrons will get access to an exclusive Discord channel, previews on upcoming projects and our new Patreon exclusive podcast We Watch, We Talk, where Amanda and I watch a movie and then talk about it. I’m told it’s the most creative name in the history of the internet. For our first episode we watched The Fellowship of the Ring and I had some thoughts . You can listen to those, and support the show at https://www.patreon.com/GamingWithGage.I also have a number of appearances coming up soon including the Gamerstable streaming show Big 20, that hosts a rotating cast of GMs, and the finale of The Marshals Actual Play, with Chris Hussey.Speaking of Chris Hussey, he’s on this episode! This week we took a deep dive on a sometimes sensitive topic, Rules vs Rulings. We talked about GM responsibility, the importance of communication and trust with your game group, and one of the few rules in Savage Worlds that I don’t like. If you have more thoughts to add to the conversation I’d recommended joining our Discord. It’s the easiest place to yell at me. I mean discuss with me. As always, we ask that you rate and review the show on Apple Podcasts, Stitcher or wherever you listen.Subscribe on Apple PodcastSubscribe on AndroidAnd with all that out of the way, let’s jump into our Season Premiere, Rules vs Rulings with Chris Hussey. Some other helpful links,Our WebsiteTwitterInstagram

John is sick. He may *sob* never record again. At least for this week, which is why for the first time ever, a ZCPC episode was recorded without him. This is an historic moment, one whose implications may very well echo all the way to next week. When Henry won’t be able to record. Anyway, … Continue reading Episode 126: What Didn’t We Watch (ft.   Bonjour, Mon Ami, tonight Nightcaps at the Theater is going back to Paris, France, with the raunchy, raucous, frolicking farce that is 1982’s Le père Noël est une ordure or Santa Claus is a Bastard/Stinker. If you ever have had a rough time during the holidays or are just down in general then why don’t you call in to our “SOS Distress Friendship” Suicide Prevention Hotline. We are all here for you during this holiday season, as long as we aren’t stuck in an elevator, breeding rabbits, eating oysters, or throwing random corpse pieces to zoo animals. What was that last one…oh, never mind. Strap in to see just how homeless ruffians, stuffy telephone operators, and a drag queen manages to survive one of the most magical nights of the year. Trust us your family has nothing on the crass, vulgar mouths, stuffed into this French Film and if you beg to differ…mon dieu. Press the Button! Press the Button! Bang!
