In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham and Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple Double") are back in studio talking about the latest roster and coaching staff movement with the NCAA Transfer Portal opening last week and player movement happening at record rates. The biggest portal news for USC happened on Tuesday with the Branch Brothers announcing they would be the latest Trojans to transfer. Wide receiver Zachariah Branch and safety Zion Branch both were slated to play major roles on this team in 2025, but neither will be wearing Cardinal and Gold going forward after they put their names in the NCAA Transfer Portal. With Zachariah's departure, all four five-star players recruited by Lincoln Riley from the 2022 and 2023 classes have now left the program: Branch, cornerback Domani Jackson, wide receiver Duce Robinson and quarterback Malachi Nelson. USC will also be on the market to hire a new offensive line coach and offensive coordinator with Josh Henson departing to join Barry Odom at Purdue. Henson will be the offensive coordinator for the Boilermakers but unlike his role at USC, he will be the primary play caller at Purdue. The guys talk about Riley's decision to hire from within, promoting tight ends coach Zach Hanson to be the Trojans new offensive line coach. They also discuss the other players that hit the portal and some of the candidates to fill the open linebacker coaching spot. CLICK HERE for 50% OFF an annual VIP membership to USCFootball.com! On their weekly Penn State football podcast, host Adam Bittner welcomes Post-Gazette/Daily Collegian Nittany Lions insider Joel Haas to preview the College Football Playoff first-round matchup with SMU on Saturday at Beaver Stadium. Is this Drew Allar's big chance to show a big audience what he can do in a do-or-die moment? Have he and coach James Franklin been slept on because casual fans only see them fail in big games? Was Allar's announced return in 2025 a surprise? Or a smart move for his NFL draft stock? And how will the rest of the quarterback room fill out behind him, with Ethan Grunkemeyer and Jaxon Smolik vying to replace transfer Beau Pribula as the No. 2 guy? Our duo tackles those questions and more, including: How much can transfer portal addition Kyron Hudson help the weak wide receiver corps next season? Could former USC Trojans teammates Zachariah and Zion Branch join him in Happpy Valley? Could Penn State see other key players like Abdul Carter, Kaytron Allen or Nick Singleton return next season? How does the PSU defense match up with SMU stars like QB Kevin Jennings, RB Brashard Smith and WRs Roderick Daniels Jr. and Key'Shawn Smith? Does the men's basketball team have March Madness potential after receiving AP poll votes this week? And what are the women's volleyball tam's chances to stop rival Pitt from winning a national title this week?
It's never a dull moment for the USC Trojans and their fans. After a wild end to the 2025 recruiting cycle and a crazy start to the Transfer Portal window, USC was hit with more departures. Both WR Zachariah Branch and S Zion Branch have hit the Transfer Portal (Zachariah with a non-contact tag) intending to play elsewhere.Amid this news, it was announced that USC Offensive Line Coach Josh Henson would accept the Offensive Coordinator position at Purdue. Is it time to panic or stay the course?Tune in and make sure to subscribe to the USC LAFB YouTube Channel!Listen to our USC Football Trojans Podcast: https://www.lafbnetwork.com/category/usc-trojans-podcastGo to www.LAFBNetwork.com for FREE full access to all of our podcasts and join the community!Twitter: @LAFBNetwork | @RyanDyrudLAFB | @LAFBJamz | @Coach_Rowe2 | @CatchCandice

Trojan redshirt freshman safety Zion Branch and freshman wide receiver Zachariah Branch are two of the young stars on the USC football team. Tunnel Vision hosts Ryan Abraham and Shotgun Spratling were joined in studio by the Branch brothers, talking about Zion's unfortunate season-ending knee injury and his road to recovery plus Zachariah's electric start to his college football career including being part of the flea-flicker touchdown pass from Caleb Williams to Tahj Washington. The interview was conducted in conjunction with House of Victory, an alumni-backed nonprofit collective dedicated to providing a competitive edge in the NIL space for University of Southern California student-athletes. On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Jack Smith and Connor Morrissette (aka Triple-Double) are back in studio to preview what could be a pivotal game for the Trojans, a matchup with the only undefeated team in the Pac-12, No. 5 Washington Huskies. With USC's loss to Utah two weeks ago the margin for error in the race to win the conference is essentially gone, especially with the gauntlet of a schedule the Trojans have left. For Lincoln Riley to have any shot at winning the Pac-12 in its final year of existence, his squad will need to take care of business against the Huskies on Saturday. Jack and Connor talk about what the players and coaches said this week during practice as they get ready for this important contest and discuss the news and notes including the unfortunately season ending injury for safety Zion Branch. They also break down the newly released Big Ten schedule with dates for 2024 where the Trojans travel to Michigan, Minnesota, Maryland, Washington and UCLA and host Penn State, Wisconsin, Rutgers and Nebraska. Both hosts will be in the Coliseum for this one and they give their thoughts on how it will turn out including their picks against the spread (Trojans are a 3 point underdog to Washington). Plenty to get into as the USC Trojans are just 2 weeks away from their season opener against San Jose State. Zion Branch balled out in the scrimmage session and Coach Lincoln Riley had plenty of positive things to say. What does this mean for the secondary? 4-Star Cornerback, Dakoda Fields, just flipped his commitment from USC to Oregon. Is this concerning for the future? Pre-season All-Conference and Awards Watch Lists have been announced. Ryan and Jamal talk about all of the Trojans and where they could finish the season at! In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham and new USCFootball.com senior staff writer Connor Morrissette were in studio to talking about how this Trojan football team has looked a week and a half into USC fall camp. So far the Trojans have practiced 10 times including their first full pads scrimmage over the weekend. Ryan and Connor talk about what they have seen out on the practice field during the open media windows and what head coach Lincoln Riley and the assistant coaches and players have said following those partially open practices. The guys start out talking about some of the interesting comments Riley had following Tuesday morning's practice, where he focused on how the defensive depth has improved and there are competitive position battles almost everywhere. He said players that saw plenty of playing time last season now find themselves in a real battle to even get on the field now, showing how much deeper a roster (especially on defense) USC has heading into the 2023 college football season. Riley also talked about the first scrimmage of camp (closed to the media) and how it was won by the defense, led by the pass rush of the defensive front. Riley said the battles of the offensive and defensive lines have gone back and forth, as have the overall offensive and defensive battles, but over the weekend in the scrimmage it was the defense that won the day led by safety Zion Branch who had a pick-6 and forced a fumble. Next week is "mock game week" and Riley said it would be critical for guys to put themselves on the radar if they want to play this season. Guys who are playing well next week have a chance separate themselves and earn their spot on the depth chart for the opener against San Jose State. Some shocking news broke Sunday evening when former Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley announced that he had accepted the USC job. Will USC suddenly become more of a threat?- What about 2022 QB Devyn Brown, who recently decommitted from the Trojans? Could he reconsider, or is Ohio State still one of the favorites to land him?

Ohio State added a wide receiver to the Class of 2022 on Monday as Kaleb Brown made an expected commitment. But that wasn't the only news of the day. Florida State commitment Gabriel Harris - who visited Columbus last week - decommitted from the Seminoles and had an Ohio State offer shortly thereafter. You do the math. Duane Long is here and we also tackled a number of questions submitted on the Front Row: * Could Ohio State add two elite safeties - Zion Branch and Xavier Nwankpa - to the same class? * Are we overlooking any future B1G Buckeyes? * Which Class of 2022 prospect still on the board tops Duane's wish list?
