Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a 2026 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man. Produced by Columbia Pictures, Marvel Studios, and Pascal Pictures, and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing, it is the 38th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and the fourth film in the MCU Spider-Man film series following Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). The film was directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, and stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker / Spider-Man alongside Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Florence Pugh, Tramell Tillman, Marisa Tomei, and Mark Ruffalo. In the film, Parker anonymously protects New York City as the hero Spider-Man and investigates a powerful new threat while his superpowers undergo a surprising and potentially dangerous evolution.Sony was developing a fourth MCU Spider-Man film by August 2019, and producer Amy Pascal revealed in November 2021 that it was intended to be the first in a new trilogy starring Holland. Work on the story began that December, with Holland more involved in development than he was for the previous films. McKenna and Sommers returned as writers by February 2023, Cretton was hired to direct by October 2024, and the title—derived from the 2008 comic book storyline "Brand New Day" that reset Spider-Man's status quo—was announced in March 2025. The producers wanted Holland's Parker to be a "proper Spider-Man" for the first time, on his own and fighting street-level crime in New York City. Ahead of filming, Bernthal and Ruffalo were revealed to be reprising their MCU roles of Frank Castle / Punisher and Bruce Banner / Hulk. Filming took place from August to December 2025, with location filming in Glasgow, Scotland, and throughout England. Soundstage work occurred at Pinewood Studios in England.Spider-Man: Brand New Day premiered at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, on July 27, 2026, and was released in the United States on July 31 as part of Phase Six of the MCU. The film received generally positive reviews from critics and has grossed $1.188 billion worldwide, becoming the second-highest-grossing Spider-Man film and the highest-grossing film of 2026. It had the highest opening weekend gross for the United States and Canada and the second-highest worldwide. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Daily Soap Opera Spoilers by Soap Dirt (GH, Y&R, B&B, and DOOL)
Click to Subscribe: https://bit.ly/Youtube-Subscribe-SoapDirt General Hospital spoilers are set for a surprising twist as Chris McKenna, who plays Jack Brennan, is confirmed to be leaving the show. The character's death will mark McKenna's exit and is speculated to occur in fall. Initially, Charles Major portrayed Jack Brennan and was later succeeded by McKenna in February 2025. Despite initial hesitation from fans, McKenna's interpretation of Jack Brennan ended up resonating with viewers. However, the actor's departure and the character's imminent death are yet to be officially confirmed by ABC, General Hospital, or McKenna himself. Brennan's death on GH is speculated to be tied to the information hidden in his 'black box' which holds evidence against Drew Cain, played by Cameron Mathison. Another potential scenario involves Carly Spencer's (Laura Wright) desire for revenge against Brennan for recruiting her daughter, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), into the WSB. General Hospital spoilers indicate that Brennan's death could also be a result of his involvement in protecting Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) from Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) or due to his association with the dangerous Sidwell. Lastly, Brennan's attempt to dissuade Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) from reopening the shooting case might cost him his life, marking a dramatic ending to his character arc. INTRO:I'm Hank, longtime podcaster, filmmaker, and YouTuber, and this is my review of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. This is a spoiler-filled review of the movie so you've been warned.BUDGET:225 million dollars. You want to hit a 2.5x to 3x for profitability. The movie hit a billion dollars worldwide in six days.SETTINGS:New York City feels alive, populated, expansive, and adds character to the film unlike many other films that feel so much smaller. Even the interior shots of Damage Control and even apartments, felt larger than life and realistic. The damage caused in the environment also feels like it will put other people in danger.CHARACTERS:Tom Holland: Peter ParkerZendaya: MJJacob Batalon: Ned LeedsSadie Sink: Jean GreyJon Bernthal: Frank CastleMark Ruffalo: Bruce BannerLiza Colon-Zayas: Det. You can get your name in the credits of the film by donating. Head to NotScaredMovie.com for more information. I've lowered the amount to get your name in the credits.HITS:This movie lands on all emotional fronts.Happy, sad, fear, anger, disgust, surprise.I was finally invested in Peter Parker and MJ.Real Hulk returns! The Punisher and Spider-Man team up exceeded my wildest expectations! Why was The Hand there? Who cares, because the set pieces with them were next-level!Location, location, location. I felt like we were going all over New York and everything was interactive.Someone was cutting onions when we did the Aunt May flashbacks. The set pieces in this movie will be copied for years to come. The overall depth of Peter Parker/Spider-Man was something we haven't seen from Tom Holland's version of the character.MISSES:I hate when super hero movies add government oversight (save for Captain America Winter Soldier). Once you add the government you start asking questions that the story can't answer. The writing in some spots is clunky. Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers, and rewrite contributions by Justin Kuritzkes. You have to do substantial re-writes in order to get credited.I am not a fan of Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner.I dislike the Jean Grey introduction and casting. She does not feel like the character at all to me.Plays a dislikable character. It was far too easy to see who the villain was going to be.Some of the swinging CGI scenes took me out of the movie. They lingered on the shots too long.CHECK OUT MY NEW SHOW CALLED: Low-Budget Movie ReviewsLINK: https://feeds.captivate.fm/low-budget-movie-reviews/MOVIE SCORE: 8/10DIRECTION: A Destin Daniel CrettonWRITING: B Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers, and Justin KuritzkesCINEMATOGRAPHY: APOST PRODUCTION: (score/sfx/edit/color grade) AREWATCHABILITY: A1 Awful content = Fails on every single level.2-4 Poor = Terrible on almost every front.5 Mediocre = Some of the content is worthwhile but mostly broken.6 Average = Okay writing, acting, storytelling and execution.7 Good = Solid writing, acting, storytelling and execution.8 Great = Great writing, acting, storytelling and execution.9 Almost Perfect = Very minor nitpicks but otherwise excellent.10 Perfect = A masterpiece! Apple wants parents to celebrate its latest parental control updates. But child safety advocates aren't buying the hype.In this episode, I brought in Titania Jordan of Bark Technologies and Chris McKenna of Protect Young Eyes to separate PR from reality. They discuss why Apple's changes arrived only after mounting lawsuits and legislative pressure, what the company still isn't doing to protect children, and why many of the announced features amount to little more than shifting responsibility back onto parents. If Apple truly prioritizes child safety, why can children still receive explicit content, easily workaround parental controls and use a device designed primarily for adults? Before you trust the headlines, listen to what the experts have to say.Safer options for your child: Get the Bark Phone! AI isn’t just helping your kids with homework - it’s shaping who they trust, how they think, and what they feel. In this eye-opening conversation, Dr Justin Coulson sits down with Chris McKenna from Protect Young Eyes to unpack what most parents are missing about screens, social media, and the explosive rise of AI. "Send us a message! (questions, feedback, etc.)"The scariest thing about kids and tech isn't just what they can find—it's what can find them. Greg & Bobby sat down with Chris McKenna, founder of Protect Young Eyes and president of Better Tech, to map a practical path through the chaos: clear relational scripts, layered technical guardrails, and a mindset that trades “set it and forget it” for steady, confident presence.Chris breaks the work into two buckets—relational and technical—and shows how the ratio shifts as kids grow. For little ones, lock down devices and avoid exposure; for teens, double down on agency and honest talk. We explore the five habits of a tech-ready home (you'll want to get to know these). Chris outlines layered protection—router, device, location, and app—and explains why your router is the most important device you own. If your teen already has social media, you'll get “ridiculously direct” scripts for sextortion-proofing and an approach that invites confession without shame. We also touch on policy and the broader movement: how Better Tech equips classrooms and pushes for laws that protect kids and hold platforms accountable. Meanwhile, Carly Corinthos Spencer (Laura Wright) is harboring him in her she shed, ready to sabotage Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna). As tensions rise, a brutal showdown between Valentin and Jack seems imminent, with Carly in the middle as the grand prize. GH spoilers suggest that Valentin's unexpected arrival at Carly's house, bloody and battered, frightened her. Despite her reservations, Carly agrees to hide him, remembering her similar action with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) in the past.
