As an Enneagram Three, Sarah was used to being on top of everything. But when her boss unexpectedly quit, leaving her in charge of the entire department, she felt the pressure mounting. As the weeks went by, Sarah found herself working longer hours and sacrificing her personal life to keep up with the demands of her new role. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't shake the feeling that she was failing. Her anxiety grew until it consumed her, and Sarah found herself struggling to get out of bed in the mornings. It wasn't until she sought help from a therapist that she was able to understand the toll her stress was taking on her mental and physical health. In the Bible, it is written that "a soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger" (Proverbs 15:1). By understanding our own and others' conflict styles through the lens of the Enneagram, we can communicate more effectively and navigate conflicts with grace and compassion. This can lead to reduced anxiety and stress, as well as strengthened relationships and a deeper understanding of ourselves and those around us. Bible Studies and Notebooks ADHD Wives Club

Welcome back to the second podcast in our Embracing Forgiveness series. Our first podcast was on Day One: L=Learning what forgiveness truly is but today, we will be about evaluating where unforgiveness is a hindrance in your life (body). Buckle down and grab your full on purpose notebook to take some notes. This episode is going to please all the research geeks out there and I'm totally here for it too. I want to preface this episode and say that I am not a licensed therapist although I do go to therapy every month. I'm not a licensed psychiatrist or pretend to have the knowledge level of a psychologist. The information in this podcast is a result of my own emotional journey through unforgiveness and from my research. Through studying the mind-body connection, my eyes were opened to a whole new world. So many Christians shy away from this type of study because it can cross over to new age teachings if you're not aware and grounding things in the word. Welcome back to Full On Purpose and to a brand new study on embracing forgiveness. I'll be honest…when God dropped this idea in my lap I gave him a sideways look. Lord, you know I struggle with this….you know I TRY my hardest to let go of things but some kind of way they sneak back in my dreams and in my life and in my body…how can I possibly talk to my girls about forgiveness when I'm in the thick of this thing? I was reminded of a talk during this past women's conference when one of the speakers said she was ministering to us from the valley…from the point of pain and with us in the storm. That's where I am with this study. I don't come to you as an expert on forgiveness or that I have all the answers. If anything I have a PHD on how it can wreck your life, stunt your spiritual growth and create a host of health problems. So for this study, please walk with me through it. We will be hearing from other women, besides myself about their journeys through forgiveness. I know you'll be able to relate to at least one of their stories of hope! Can you believe we are on day 5 already? I want to thank you for allowing me a platform to speak to you from my heart. I truly have given all I could to present this study in a way that is understandable and relatable. I hope you've found those to be true. If I were your enemy, I'd work to create division between you and other christians, between groups of Christians, anyone with the potential for uniting in battle against me and my plans. I'd keep you operating individually, not seeing your need for the church or tying yourself too closely to its mission. Strength in numbers and unity of purpose….I would not allow things like these to go unchecked. If I were your enemy, I'd use every opportunity to bring old wounds to mind, as well as the people, events and circumstances that caused them. I'd try to ensure that your heart was hardened with anger and bitterness. Shackled through unforgiveness. Welcome to day 4 of the overcoming comparison Bible study. If you're just finding this for the first time, please go back and watch/listen to the studies in order. So over the last 3 lessons, I've covered how the enemy attacks your passion, focus, identity, family, confidence and your calling. Today I'm going to cover how the enemy attacks your purity and your rest and contentment. If I were your enemy, I'd tempt you towards certain sins, making you believe you are basically (even biologically) unavoidable. I'd study your tendencies and proclivities til I learned the precise conditions that make you the most likely to indulge them. And then I'd strike you there. Again and again. Wear you down. Because if I can't separate you from God forever, I can at aleast set you at odds with him for the time being. Giveaway only for participants in ADHD Wives Club. Over the last few nights I've been discussing the tactics of the enemy and how he comes in to attack you in multiple ways to keep you stuck in a whirlwind of confusion….never reaching your full potential. Tonight I want to discuss that if I were your enemy, I'd attack you with your past. Priscilla say, “I'd constantly remind you of your past mistakes and poor choices, I'd want to keep you burdened by shame and guilt, in hopes that you'll feel incapacitated by your many failings and see no point in even trying again. I'd work to convince you that you've had your chance and blown it-that your God may be able to forgive some people for some things, but not you, not for this. Welcome back! Today is day two of our overcoming comparison Bible study. If you missed yesterday, please go back and listen to that one because I laid the groundwork for this study in that lesson. There are things there that I will not be covering again today. Last night we talked about the enemy stealing your passion and your focus. Tonight, I want to speak about the enemy stealing your identity and your family. Priscilla says, “If I were your enemy, I'd devalue your strength and magnify your insecurities until they dominate how you see yourself, disabling and disarming you from fighting back, from being free, from being who God created you to be. I'd work hard to ensure that you never realize what God has given you so you'll doubt the power of God within you.” Today I share details about Ken and I's testimony that I've not shared before except when ministering to someone in similar situations 1:1. My calling was never promised to be easy. I don't share things on public platforms like this and my podcast to get attention or simply because I'm an oversharer. Mental health and addiction are both rageing in our homes and taking our families. I am sharing parts of our story because if I were your enemy and wanted you to be stuck in the comparison trap....I'd attack your identity and your family....you don't want to miss this. Showing up is the first step in your healing. You know, if I were your enemy, I'd be very strategic in how I attacked you. I don't know about you, but I've returned more things to Amazon than I've kept. Decision making has often been a struggle for me and I almost always second guess myself. Kelly and I both went to the same school for our health coaching certifications but I love the way she brings out a different interpretation of the same information I learned. I had to have her come on the show because I know she's helped me! Since this episode was recorded, we've moved into a rental house and I've returned to teaching full time. Both of those were decisions that I made with ease because, as you'll hear in the episode, "you already know" what to do. Here's what we chatted about: What is one thing you hear from your clients they want more of in their life? When thinking about making decisions, what do you think gets in the way of us making the right ones? Can you tell us more about the decision making model you work through with your clients? Why is "you already know" a term you use often in your coaching, or a term you often bring your clients back to? In what ways have you seen someone following their intuition impact their energy? Hey! It's Becky. Thanks for tuning in! Today I want to talk to you about your growth mindset and how it can make a HUGE difference as you pursue your health and fitness goals. First things first, what is a growth mindset? According to experts, this is the belief that humans can develop and improve even the most basic of skills through hard work and commitment. It's the idea that intelligence and talent can be developed with the right frame of mind. This is exactly the OPPOSITE of the old idea that people are born with a certain level of intelligence or a particular set of talents, and that's the best they'll ever be. (For the record, this is called a fixed mindset. You can find lots of research on the differences between the two!) Think about this example: When was the last time you described someone as a “natural athlete”? You probably thought you were paying the person the ultimate compliment, right? BUT … It's actually a bit of a backhanded compliment. It suggests that the person's athletic skills resulted from an accident of genetics at birth---rather than the years of dedication and hard work they put in! Do you see how this type of thinking can get in the way of reaching your goals? When things get tough, it can be all too easy to think you don't “have it in you” … that it's for “other” people who are born with certain gifts or traits that you don't have … and that makes it easier to give up. A fixed mindset can also spill over to many areas in your life... You might find it hard to make changes in your relationships, your career, your health, or even your willingness to try new things. So how can you develop more of a growth mindset? Here are three strategies to try, for starters. Challenge your inner voice! When that little voice chants “I can't,” turn it right around! Replace it with “I can figure it out,” or “I don't know how...yet!” This helps you to see where the issue really lies. Then you can adjust course or ask for help as needed. One quote I love from Maria Forleo is “everything is figureoutable” Embrace your imperfections. Recognize that you aren't perfect -- because no one is! And while you're at it, you can let go of any pressure you feel to BE perfect. What a relief it is to say goodbye to that! Remember, there are no failures – only learning opportunities! If you try something and you don't get the results you were hoping for, it's not a failure. It's just a chance to learn what doesn't work. Change your approach a little, and give it another try! Most of the time - the best lessons in life come from your challenges - not from your wins. I hope these ideas are helpful! If you're in need of support or your very own cheerleader, send me a message, I'm here for you! Hope you have a great day!

Have you grown up feeling really confused about sex? I don't mean the mechanics of it, but its purpose, its place and benefits? Do you, even as a wife, have mixed feelings about it now? Many of us were taught: Sex is bad, you need to be pure because you are not married, you're to cover your body to not cause men to lust…but happy wedding day! Now go enjoy this gift of sex and intimacy with your spouse because it is good and Biblical! Today the Heaven's open up and now you magically have completely different feelings about sex, you'll feel an instant bond with your husband because he is your soul mate and everything will be AH-mazing! Wait….what? If you were raised like I was, we were taught to obstain from sex until we were married. I got a purity ring from my parents when I was 16…I STILL think this is good and right and Ken and I will teach purity to our kids as well. (Do not misunderstand this episode or its contents….the intimacy and sex we chat about in this podcast is between MARRIED adults.) I think the confusion happened for me, as a kid who wanted to please my parents and be “good”, that it caused me to not seperate sex from intimacy. We didn't really talk about sex but we didn't really talk about intimacy either. Now later into my teen years (when my siblings were older too) Dad did an amazing series on the Song of Solomon. It was incredible! But the issue was that by that time I had already made some pretty concrete decisions about sex and they weren't really healthy ones either. -Sex is dirty. -I'm dirty for having any attractions for Ken before we were married. -If I married someone who wasn't a virgin our marriage would never work. -If I dress nicely that makes me feel good, I'm causing men to lust. -I am loved for being attractive and desirable. This later translated into I'm not attractive therefore I'm undesirable. -My success as a wife is tied into my sexual ability. -If my body is desirable, my life will be in danger. Real life: The first time I gained a substantial amount of weight (20+) was after I was chased down (on 2 seperate occasions) to my car by men in parking lots. 1-Walking to my car from a Goodwill store…he actually banged on the windows and tried to get in with all the doors, 2-In a college parking lot after a late night class…this time I am the one who ran and hid in my car floorboard. I missed my class because I was too scared to look up. The next morning in the paper was a story about someone in that parking lot being robbed and held at gun point. These just solidified the lies I believed and caused me to “protect” myself with my weight and my sarcastic nature which would surely deter any dangers or men who wouldn't truly fight for me to feel safe. You see, sex, shame, safety and intimacy are all interwined in one but the world only wants to teach us about the mechanics of sex. Often times (but not always…don't send me ugly messages lol) the church only teaches you to obstain from sex (physically) and seek intimacy with God (but we often don't understand this either). This way of teaching and thought processes leave so much to be desired, but if you seek out help you get lots of strange looks or it gets back to your parents and now you're in trouble and feel ashamed. .…you aren't broken, your messaging is. In this week's podcast episode with my fellow Enneagram Coach, Shannon Lynch, we unpack the misunderstandings we believed as kids raised in the church culture and together solidify a plan to bring up OUR kids with more knowledge about true, Biblical intimacy (both with God and our husbands) and the gift that truly brings to a marriage. Song of Solomon 8:6-7: 6 Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm. For love is as strong as death, its jealousy[a] as enduring as the grave.[b] Love flashes like fire, the brightest kind of flame. 7 Many waters cannot quench love, nor can rivers drown it. If a man tried to buy love with all his wealth, his offer would be utterly scorned. Welcome to the show, my personal Enneagram coach, Hannah! Bio: I got my graduate degree in pastoral counseling from Columbia international university and graduated in 2016. I immediately started working at a local pregnancy center in Asheville NC until December 31, 2019. The last year and a half of working there I was the grief counselor for the pregnancy and infant loss and devastating diagnosis clients. God led me to stay home starting in 2020 with two toddlers. He opened the door for me to take the enneagram coaching course starting in June, I became certified in august, and I am now in the process of launching my coaching business! Hannah, I know what you do, but can you tell my listeners about your experience with this crazy couple cycle? What actually is the cycle? Is every argument a cycle? Is the cycle bad or good or is there a “right” way to argue? How do I recognize the cycle before it happens? How do I get out of it? What if my spouse doesn't help get out of the cycle? Have you ever wanted to be a fly on the wall of an Enneagram coaching session? When Katie and Sam (local brilliant bloggers) reached out to me feeling stumped on their type, I was happy to help. Even if you've read the books, taken the quizzes and listened to my free core motivations training, you still may not feel clear....and that's ok. Jamming out on typing interviews with clients is one of the most fun things I do in my coaching! I love seeing the lightbulb go off for people and I have to say it happens a lot in these sessions. Understanding how God created you from the inside out is key to unlocking your purpose. I hear so many people say they don't know what their calling is, their purpose or why they are here on earth. Although I don't help you find your perfect job, your spouse or the secrets to calming chaos in your motherhood, I actually help you work backwards to gain clarity of what your core motivations are and why you do what you do. With this incredible insight you walk away empowered to strengthen those relationships, establish boundaries you didn't know you needed and create the most incredible relationship with your kids because now you understand how YOU operate. I feel in a world where everyone and everything are telling you about who you are, it's time to turn that off and tune in to who God says you are. During our 45m session you'll hear that although I provided some lifelines along the journey, Katie and Sam tapped into their own brilliance to ultimately uncover their main types and dominant wing If you've been stumped on your type or just want me to chat out your results to help you understand them further, I'm here for it. Please email me to schedule your session fullonpurpose@gmail.com. Curious to know if Katie and Sam's blog align with their number? Check it out here: https://fromheeltotoela.com/whats-your-number/
Today I got to chat with Grace Brindle and I think you're going to LOVE this episode! As an enneagram 8 (with a solid 9 wing), Grace Brindle began to build her skillset by the hard knocks of being an oldest, strong-willed child in a family of 5 children. The skills learned in her childhood catapulted her forward into life where she has spent many years in full-time ministry including but not limited to lay-counseling, teacher, and coffee shop owner/manager—which by nature gives way to hearing the stories of others well. After running a successful online essential oil business for many years, Grace took a step back from the internet (and formal ministry) and has since deepened her education. She has since gained certifications as an enneagram coach and The Allender Center's Narrative Focused Trauma Care certification through the Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. She is currently continuing in this schooling, finding her own places of healing, and actively offering care through enneagram, story work, and counseling. Outline: Welcome Grace, Please tell us a little about what brought you to studying the Enneagram, story work and counseling? (those are three of my favorite things btw). How do you handle disciplining when something goes wrong with your kids? Can you help us understand how children respond in different ways to the discipline. What do you do after discipline and make sure the wound is repaired and not going to cause further harm. How do you help yourself to replenish when being drained with confrontation with your strong willed child. How does this look when you ae a different enneagram than your spouse and it comes to parenting? Where can moms find you or how can you work with you?
