Stavros from the Atlas Moth is back for his 4th appearance on Car Con Carne - it’s been over four years, so we were overdue for a chat. The first thing you may notice in this episode is how easy the conversation is between the two of us. Besides Stavros being a natural and funny conversationalist, we have a lot in common: music, comics, horror, vinyl collecting. Lots of common ground there. We talk about why the Atlas Moth has been dead silent for the past five years, and Stavros reveals the plans for an upcoming covers EP. You won’t believe the artists they’re covering! We also talk about Stavros’s new band, Motherless, set to release an album in September. The entire conversation took place at the unlucky-looking Talisman Center in Glenview, specifically outside the Works Grill, home of some of the area’s best gyros (no lie). This chat’s a little longer than usual, but I swear it’s a fun one. William Johnson, CEO of The Harris Poll, talks with host Amy Guth about recent survey data sentiment around health care, major federal spending cuts and other big issues.Plus: Illinois plans sale of $725 million in bonds for capital budget; big lease secured for new logistics hub at former Allstate campus in Glenview; Joann to close all remaining stores, including 33 in Illinois; and craft distilleries look to change a law from 1934 as some fear the worst.
Bill Stone, chief investment officer at Glenview Trust, says that the stock market has priced in so much good news that it makes him want to be more cautious, looking into headline risks for potential value opportunities. Stone notes that the stock market has had previous periods with three strongly positive, consecutive years — and it could complete that process again this year — but it makes him nervous that the market could adjust and re-set. That's not pushing him out of stocks, but has muted his expectations. Charles Rotblut, editor at AAII Journal, discusses the organization's investor-sentiment survey, which shows that nervousness is on the rise, but so is bullish sentiment. Kyle Guske, investment analyst at New Constructs looks at large-cap value funds and finds an attractive pick this week — rather than looking for the standard Danger Zone trouble spot — noting that even in a category that is doing well, top potential performers stand out. Plus, author Ross White discusses his recent book, "The Tree That Bends: How a Flexible Mind Can Help You Thrive."

The old Scott Foresman headquarters on Lake Avenue in Glenview opened in 1966 and has been vacant since 2020. It isn't just an architectural standout but also an important cultural landmark. Reset's “What's That Building?” contributor Dennis Rodkin tells the story. For a full archive of Reset interviews, head over to wbez.org/reset.
Born in 1966 in San Antonio, TX, King Williams was moved around a lot as a young lad. The moves landed the family in Glenview, IL, a suburb of Chicago. After overcoming the urge to pronounce the “S” at the end of “Illinois”, he moved more freely in northern society and came to genuinely love the city itself. In that time, the need to play music reared its spiny head and he learned how to play bass. Sinking his teeth into it, he became somewhat competent and enjoys playing to this day. King noted, however, that that wasn't likely to provide a steady income, so he created a fall back plan, becoming a recording engineer. A short stint at Columbia College under renown engineer and curmudgeon Malcom Chisholm gave king much of what he'd need to succeed as a recordist, though it was as yet unrealized. These two career paths crisscrossed and caromed off each other, but the lure of steadier work as an engineer eventually landed King a job in Nashville, TN at famed RCA recording studio “A”, then known as “Javelina Recording”. After a few years of that, King went freelance and spent much of his time at local houses such as OceanWay, The Tracking Room and, Sound Emporium. In 2004, King was approached by recently minted Music Director at The Grand Ole Opry, Steve Gibson, to join the staff as broadcast and post production mixer. King was hired on and had been the responsible engineer for that seat for the last 20 years, and will likely still be in that chair through The Opry's 100th anniversary, which will be celebrated throughout 2025."Still on the Run" - https://www.fbrmusic.com/Host - Trey MitchellIG - treymitchellphotography IG - feeding_the_senses_unsensoredFB - facebook.com/profile.php?id=100074368084848Threads - www.threads.net/@treymitchellphotographySponsorship Information/Guest Suggestions - ftsunashville@gmail.com

Wingnut Social: The Interior Design Business and Marketing Podcast
One of the best kept secrets in the interior design industry is designing for vacation homes. How do you do it? How do you get into it? What are the benefits? Today's guests, Melinda Cahill and Suzanne Glavin of North Shore Nest, discuss the ins and outs of vacation home design. Stay tuned! “We began North Shore Nest in 2004 from our basements in Glenview. Prior to launching, we were doing design projects on the side for family and friends while we worked our full time careers. When the market crashed, we made the decision to launch North Shore Nest full time, and we have spent the last seventeen years designing spaces for working professionals and young families along the North Shore. Our shared passion for great design paired with sensibility allows us to transform interiors into warm, livable spaces that stand the test of time. By taking a fresh updated approach to traditional styling and building rooms with layers, we are able to provide depth and individuality allowing our clients to live beautifully everyday. We are based in Glenview Illinois, serving the Chicago area and surrounding suburbs, as well as the Lake Geneva Wisconsin area. We enjoy the diversity and learning opportunities offered by working in communities other than our own.” ***
Carl Quintanilla, Sara Eisen and David Faber began the hour by looking at the markets, after stocks suffered their worst week since early September. Tech was also a big focus today, following a report in The Information that Nvidia AI chips were overheating, which sent shares of the tech giant lower. On the other hand, Tesla shares surged following reports that President-elect Trump's transition team is looking to ease rules for self-driving vehicles. Also in focus: CVS added 4 new members to its board, including Glenview Capital CEO Larry Robbins, who joined the program for a CNBC exclusive interview. Squawk on the Street Disclaimer

In 2003, The Redwalls, a really good band hailing from Chicago suburb Deerfield, IL kicked off their album “Universal Blues” by encouraging a “Colorful Revolution”; in a most Beatle-esque Banger fashion. By coincidence (?), a mere 31 years earlier, there was a colorful “Daytime Revolution” as John, Yoko, and friends took over a week's worth of “The Mike Douglas Show” - a.k.a. the guy all of us, if we're being honest, initially confused/conflated with “The Dick Cavett Show”. This new, soon-to-stream documentary examines these historic episodes, and had a brief in-theaters showing on what would've been John's 84th birthday. Tony saw the film solo in Chicago suburb Glenview, IL, as T.J. handled the un-related, un-paid improv rehearsal many miles from his home - and even further from #GlenviewsFamousDawgPark. The result is a new-ish phase Beatles podcast, reproduced for streaming by Producer Casey. Roll up for this special UBP field trip, an aural journey (cue: “Faithfully”) of Tony documenting a documentary, as documentary commentary from T.J. documents Tony's documentary commentary of the documentary's documentary commentary. With the market melting down Monday and suffering its worst loss in over two years, Bill Stone, chief investment officer at Glenview Trust, says that wary investors are justifiably nervous, but they shouldn't be distracted from their long-term goals, which means staying diversified and invested and looking for opportunities. Stone does warn that the well-publicized opportunities in artificial intelligence may be a bit overblown now; while he believes AI technology will reshape industry and deliver on its enormous potential, he thinks the market has gotten ahead of itself in terms of valuing AI plays. That sentiment is shared by hedge-fund manager Lukasz Tomicki, managing partner at LRT Capital Management, who says in the Market Call segment that he is avoiding most artificial intelligence plays now, noting that the AI "frenzy" has created unreasonable valuations and expectations. Plus, economist Paul Collier discusses his new book, “Left Behind: A New Economics for Neglected Places,” which was released today and which questions traditional assumptions on how to improve economically struggling areas.

Serial Killer Michael Gargiulo (Hollywood Ripper) Documentary - Ashton Kutcher Girlfriend Serial Killer Michael Gargiulo (Hollywood Ripper) Documentary Michael Thomas Gargiulo (born February 15, 1976)[1] is a convicted American serial killer[3] and rapist. He moved to Southern California in the 1990s and gained the nickname The Hollywood Ripper. He was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder and sentenced to death on July 16, 2021 Description of crimes Gargiulo is a native of Glenview, Illinois, where he may have stabbed his neighbor, 18-year-old Tricia Pacaccio, to death on her backdoor step. Her body was found by her father the next morning on August 14, 1993.[5][6] Gargiulo moved to Los Angeles in 1998, allegedly to escape the scrutiny of police in Illinois,[7] and committed two murders and an attempted murder in Southern California between 2001 and 2008. On February 21, 2001, he stabbed 22-year-old Ashley Ellerin 47 times to death in her home in Hollywood. Ellerin's injuries included a neck wound that nearly severed her head, and deep punctures to the chest, stomach, and back. Some of her wounds were up to six inches deep.[8] According to detective Tom Small, one stab wound "actually penetrated the skull and took out a chunk of skull like a puzzle piece."[8] On the night she was murdered, Ellerin had planned a date including dinner and drinks with actor Ashton Kutcher.[9] On December 1, 2005, Gargiulo stabbed 32-year-old Maria Bruno, his neighbor, to death at her home in El Monte, California.[10] She was stabbed 17 times.[8] Gargiulo attempted to murder another neighbor, 26-year-old Michelle Murphy, in her home in Santa Monica on April 28, 2008.[11] She fought off the attack, and blood matching Gargiulo's DNA was found at the scene.[12] Arrest and prosecution Gargiulo was arrested by the Santa Monica Police Department on June 6, 2008. On July 7, 2011, the Cook County State's Attorney charged Gargiulo with the first-degree murder of Tricia Pacaccio.[13] Although Gargiulo was charged in the two California murders as well as the Pacaccio murder in Illinois, police did not link him to any other murders.[5] Gargiulo allegedly told authorities in the Los Angeles County Jail that just because 10 women were killed — and his DNA was present — does not mean he murdered anyone, leading investigators to believe that there are more victims.[5] Media in Los Angeles dubbed Gargiulo the "Hollywood Ripper" as well as the "Chiller Killer."[13][14] Gargiulo was held at Los Angeles County Jail while awaiting a capital murder trial.[15] A pre-trial hearing was held on June 9, 2017, in Los Angeles Superior Court with his trial scheduled to begin in October 2017.[16] After delays, his trial began on May 2, 2019.[9][17] In May 2019, actor Ashton Kutcher testified about the crimes Serial Killer Michael Gargiulo Hollywood Ripper Documentary Ashton Kutcher Girlfriend True Crime Podcast 2023 Police Interrogations, 911 Calls True Police Stories Podcast Serial Killer Michael Gargiulo (Hollywood Ripper) Documentary Michael Thomas Gargiulo (born February 15, 1976)[1] is a convicted American serial killer[3] and rapist.
We are also currently working on new construction design projects in Scottsdale Arizona and Naples Florida and enjoy the diversity and learning opportunities offered by working in communities other than our own.” ***
