    My guest, Dr. Joseph Michelli is a world renown speaker, author and consultant who shares his knowledge of exceptional business practices with corporate leaders to develop productive workplaces with a focus on customer experiences. He is a Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Publishers Weekly, Nielson BookScan, and New York Times #1 bestselling author. One of my favorite books he wrote is The New Gold Standard. It’s a must for training my team to specifically learn how to adopt the principles of the Ritz-Carlton level of customer care and service, which is essential for servicing our affluent clientele. Our discussion starts with Dr. Michelli telling us about customer service. And by sharing examples from some of the companies he has consulted with he describes what is important for our affluent market - the journey to a great customer experience. According to Dr. Michelli, a great customer experience is when companies and their employees meet customer expectations and exceed them. They develop emotional connections and then customized the service delivery to the wants, needs and desires of their customers, both stated and unstated. In my opinion, a great customer service experience is not some strategy that’s “nice to have.” It’s a requirement if you want to build loyal, affluent customers.     Lauren Kane is one of my clients who is enjoying great success because of what she learned in the Marketing to Millionaires program. Lauren has worked with female entrepreneurs for a decade. She spent six years as Director of Operations for one of the nation's largest Angel Groups/early stage VC firms, Golden Seeds. After Lauren left Golden Seeds she decided that she wanted to continue to serve female founders, to take what she knew from being on the investor side of the table (especially now as an Angel Investor herself) and help founders be more strategic with their fundraising efforts.     I would say that about 90% of the sales within my own company actually happens immediately after we have an event. And if you've heard that the fortune is in the follow-up, it's so true. From the very moment you start a marketing campaign, whatever it is, you need to actually make sure that you are planning for the follow-up process. You need to have a mechanism, a system to follow and capture your leads, and to keep track of your prospects in detail. I teach a very specific process and it involved using a customer relationship management software. The process involves keeping track of your prospects and clients with personalized, follow up action. I give you an idea of what the process is in this episode.     I've previously recorded strategies for reaching our target market and they are correct if we were dealing with normal day-to-day business. However, life in this COVID-19 global pandemic has presented challenges that require us to make pivots. By activating those pivots I have seen enormous growth and success coming from my clients and within my own business. It all starts with you paying attention to your mindset and making the decision that this is going to be the biggest growth opportunity in your business that you've ever had to date. Then take action. Here are some of the most successful strategies you can follow and what I see working now: · Pivot your marketing strategy. As an example, consider online paid networking, hosting or attending virtual events. · Pivot your delivery strategy. · Understand that the affluent market sees this time as an opportunity for growth and you can still meet their needs. · The most important strategy as a marketer is to have a mindset of abundance. · Keep reaching the affluent market and don't focus on the saturated mass market.
