THE ONLY TRUE GOD, Part 4 of Chapter 11 of The Church and The Gospel Pages 167 to 173 To Summarize This Chapter The Prophet Joseph Smith said that “very few” understand “rightly” the true character of God.Scientists and philosophers have fallen short in their ideas of explaining the creation of man on this planet.Mankind are the offspring of God. All things are reproduced through no other means than procreation and generation. All the plants and animals came to this earth from another world.Adam (Michael, the great Prince, the Archangel) came here with a resurrected celestial body, and brought Eve (one of his wives) with him. By eating of the fruit in the Garden of Eden, their bodies were transformed, allowing them to have mortal children. This doctrine, as taught by Joseph Smith and Brigham Young, was gradually rejected by subsequent Church members and leaders, and today is considered as merely a false theory.

“ADAM–WHICH IS MANY”, Chapter 18 of Mysteries of Creation What a monumental work for those who become an Adam and an Eve! The First Dispensation The fall of Adam (Michael) and the redemption of Christ were meant to work together. Paul says: The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven. (I Cor. 15: 45, 47) Adam's fall was from heavenly to earthly, and Christ's sacrifice was restoring from earthly to heavenly. Not all sermons about Adam refer to the office or station, but sometimes refer to the person who filled that position. Consider the following from the Prophet Joseph Smith: The Priesthood was first given to Adam; he obtained the first presidency, and held the keys of it from generation to generation. (TPJS, p. 157) Adam holds the keys of the dispensation of the fullness of times; i.e., the dispensation of all the times have been and will be revealed through him …. (TPJS, p. 167) This, then, is the nature of the Priesthood; every man holding the Presidency of his dispensation, and one man holding the presidency of them all, even Adam; . . . (TPJS, p. 169) He (Adam) is the father of the human family, and presides over the spirits of all men. . . . (DHC 3:387) He had dominion given him over every living creature. (TPJS, p. 157)

How poor migrants shape city politics during urbanization As the Global South rapidly urbanizes, millions of people have migrated from the countryside to urban slums, which now house one billion people worldwide. The transformative potential of urbanization hinges on whether and how poor migrants are integrated into city politics. Popular and scholarly accounts paint migrant slums as exhausted by dispossession, subdued by local dons, bought off by wily politicians, or polarized by ethnic appeals. Migrants and Machine Politics: How India's Urban Poor Seek Representation and Responsiveness (Princeton UP, 2023) shows how slum residents in India routinely defy such portrayals, actively constructing and wielding political machine networks to demand important, albeit imperfect, representation and responsiveness within the country's expanding cities. Drawing on years of pioneering fieldwork in India's slums, including ethnographic observation, interviews, surveys, and experiments, Adam Michael Auerbach and Tariq Thachil reveal how migrants harness forces of political competition—as residents, voters, community leaders, and party workers—to sow unexpected seeds of accountability within city politics. This multifaceted agency provokes new questions about how political networks form during urbanization. In answering these questions, this book overturns longstanding assumptions about how political machines exploit the urban poor to stifle competition, foster ethnic favoritism, and entrench vote buying. By documenting how poor migrants actively shape urban politics in counterintuitive ways, Migrants and Machine Politics sheds new light on the political consequences of urbanization across India and the Global South. ELECT HEIRS, Chapter 14 of Michael Adam on The Adam God Doctrine Pages 161 to 170 CONCLUSION: Many important truths were to be revealed in this last dispensation, for the Lord has said: . . . I deign to reveal unto my church things which have been kept hid from before the foundation of the world, things that pertain to the dispensation of the fulness of times. (D & C 124:41) New truths, never before revealed, would be of course very difficult to substantiate from ancient scripture. The Adam-God doctrine would be one of the mysteries of God revealed in this last dispensation of time. The gospel, as recorded in the New Testament, contains a very minor portion of the words and deeds of Christ. (John 21:21-25) Also the Gospel that Jesus taught to the Nephites, as recorded in the Book of Mormon, contains only a “lesser part” of His teachings: And now there cannot be written in this book even a hundredth part of the things which Jesus did truly teach unto the people; . . . and these things have I written, which are a lesser part of the things which he taught the people. JESUS THE SON OF ADAM, Chapter 8 of Michael Adam of The Adam God Doctrine Pages 72 to 76 If Adam is the God of this world, he would, of necessity, have to send his own son to “redeem” all men from the “fall”. Jesus, therefore, would be the son of Adam (Michael) if the Adam-God doctrine be true. Brigham Young had already explained this point, even within his first announcement of the Adam-God doctrine: Jesus, our elder Brother, was begotten in the flesh by the same character that was in the Garden of Eden, and who is our Father in Heaven. (JD 1:50) Up to the year of his death, President Young continued to advocate this filial relationship: The Savior comes to the Father, the Ancient of Days, and presents to the Father the kingdoms of this world all in a saved condition–except the sons of perdition. And he says, “Here, Father; here they are, and I with them.” Then he is prepared to go forth and fill up his kingdom, and so he goes on. (Brigham Young in St. George, L. John Nuttall, 1877) Read the full Chapter: https://fundamentallymormon.tumblr.com/post/672095264109199360/jesus-the-son-of-adam-chapter-8-of-michael-adam Read the full Book: http://ogdenkraut.com/?page_id=149 Read other Books on Restoration Theology: http://ogdenkraut.com/?page_id=30

Episode 27: This month, we talk to Adam Auerbach (American University) and Tariq Thachil (University of Pennsylvania) about COVID-19 challenges in India's so-called “slum settlements”. They argue that the landscape of service delivery is increasingly centralizing, and the lack of property rights in the slum settlements shape relations between the citizens and the state. Most residents feel that the state is dismissive in their response to COVID-19 in the urban slums of India. They further analyze and how settlement leaders cope with COVID-19 in the slums, where it is very difficult to socially distance. Selected work: Auerbach, Adam Michael and Tariq Thachil. 2020. “How Does COVID-19 Affect Urban Slums? Evidence from Settlement Leaders in India.” World Development.

What would it look like to live on mission every day for Jesus? Peter begins this portion of his letter to the elect exiles with some practical ways that we can relate to today.
Love does! What does it mean to love like Jesus? Many times we can get caught in making sure we are doing the RIGHT thing instead of having our focus on Jesus. We end up doing things from a selfish or prideful standpoint instead of from a pure heart.

Then we dive into the music. Good songs, great songs, and terrible songs lie ahead, as we continue to answer the question: what did the radio sound like in the 1990s? Bush makes a couple appearances, Sublime brings us joy, the Offspring kicks us in the teeth, and No Doubt makes us yearn for a different era. But this chart doesn't really make it through the finish line. Listen to see what we mean! Let me ask you a question. And be honest: do we make you horny, baby? Do we make you randy? Do we? Yeeeah. Following "The Poop Episode," this week’s show begins with Adam & Michael rather appropriately talking about their latest, mostly self-caused "stomach ailments." Then after giving their thoughts on the big boxing match between mixed martial artist Conor McGregor and boxer Floyd Mayweather, the guys segue into the featured topic… all about Adam’s grandfather, Samuel Robinson aka "Grandpa Sammy." Not just a timeline of a wonderful man’s life from proud US Veteran to world traveler, Adam shares a number of great stories about his relationship with his grandfather, from the time Sammy saved Adam from drowning, to the time he bought Adam and his sister Kit Kats, instead of the requested Tic Tacs (Sammy unfortunately had some trouble hearing). This podcast could never truly do Mr. Robinson justice, but we hope you enjoy a little insight into the life of someone who was a truly wonderful father, son, husband, grandfather, friend, and much, much more.
Today, Adam & Michael recap Adam’s recent visit to see Michael in Seattle, where they had an “epic fail” when it came to trying to record a show in the Emerald City. But despite their Facebook live attempt ALSO falling victim to technical misfortune, the guys still had a great time riding on “Wings Over Washington” and eating roasted grasshoppers at the Mariners/Mets baseball game at Safeco Field. So whether you like your roasted grasshoppers spicy or mild, be sure to get your protein while enjoying this very Seattle-centric show.
