Alek Skarlatos, Oregon Chair for U.S. Term Limits. Congressional term limits for Congress
Life has been catapulting us toward this moment...the episode where we lose our minds singing the praises of THE 15:17 TO PARIS with returning guest, writer and Slow Learners Podcast host John Semley! Join us for several hours of exaltant analysis of Clint Eastwood's 2018 avant garde docudrama, starring the real guys who really tackled a heavily armed shirtless man on a train. We really get into it here, folks: millennial masculinity amid the bleak futurelessness in which we've all spent most of our lives, re-enactments/non-professional actors in cinema history, and the transcendental quality of Dutch nightclubs. Listen up or we'll kick you out of Air Force sewing class! Topics include: Clint as optimistic Hill/McBride, trains, Clint making some big and unequivocally not-lazy choices, Ian invokes Bresson a bunch, millennial grammar, the supporting cast of sitcom players, major breakthoughs on Clintertextuality, and more! Former Air Force Staff Sgt. Spencer Stone garnered international headlines in 2015 when he and his childhood friends, Anthony Sadler and Alek Skarlatos, thwarted a major terrorist attack on a Paris-bound train. An unarmed Stone rushed toward the danger, subduing and disarming a man wielding an assault rifle, pistol, box cutter and enough ammunition to kill everyone on board. Stone and his friends saved hundreds of lives that day. Despite serious injuries as a result of the encounter, Stone provided life-saving care to a man who received a gunshot wound to his throat during the attack. For his heroic and selfless actions, French President Francois Hollande presented Stone with the nation's highest decoration, The Legion of Honor. Upon his return to the United States, he was honored in a ceremony at the Pentagon and was awarded the Airman's Medal and a Purple Heart. President Barack Obama also hosted the trio at the White House. In a stunning turn of events, just a month and a half after the Paris attack—and three days before Stone was to return to duty in the Air Force–he was brutally attacked in his hometown of Sacramento, CA, while defending a female friend. Stone was stabbed in his heart, lung and liver with injuries so serious that the crime scene was initially declared a homicide. Life-saving surgery followed, and he has since made a full recovery from the attack. Stone, Sadler and Skarlatos released a book detailing their incredible journey, The 15:17 to Paris, which caught the eye of legendary filmmaker Clint Eastwood. Now a major motion picture, Stone and his friends play themselves in the film, which was released in February 2018. Stone and Sadler are contestants on season 33 of Amazing Race on CBS. Sta solo a guardare? Ovviamente no!

Our guest today is Alek Skarlatos. Alek is a specialist with the Oregon army national guard, and was one of three friends who stopped a terrorist attack on the 15:17 Train to Paris. Now Alek is running for elected office in Oregon, seeking election to US Congress to represent Oregon's 4th District. 1) First of all, thank you for your continued Service to our nation, and for stepping into the battle-zone that Politics can be. Was there a main issue or a main tipping point that caused you to decide to run for office in Oregon? 2) We’ve seen months and months now of the riots and unrest in many places across the country, but specifically the ongoing riots in Portland. Bring us up to speed on that situation? What has gone well and what could have been done better? 3) The citizens of Oregon have also seen their share of forest fires – some of which the news has portrayed as intentionally set as arson. And however a fire starts, it takes a tremendous amount of organized manpower to manage and put out. Do you see any proactive measures that could prevent future fires from becoming as large as the ones we’ve seen this year? 4) This next topic is about guns, but from the perspective of our Constitutional Protections. It is alarming how many Candidates are seeking Offices who have no intention of upholding their Constitutional Oath. Some are blatant and trying to win votes on the promise not to uphold their sworn oath, and others are being sneaky and sidestepping the issue during their campaigning, all while planning to continue their attack on our 2nd Amendment Rights the minute they get elected. Over the past several months 5 Million people have become new gun owners. How do you see that impacting the 2020 Election?
Tonight we are joined by Veteran Alek Skarlatos who is running for the 4th Congressional District of Oregon.

On Wednesday’s Mark Levin Show, we have another pseudo-event. This time from a different anti-Trump author, Bob Woodward, accusing President Trump of downplaying the coronavirus to prevent panic amongst the people. These leftists and disgruntled former administration officials want to beat Trump and will use media to do it. Sadly, Woodward's attack on the president is not surprising. This is the very same media that played down the virus and echoed Anthony Fauci's claim that the virus was comparable to the seasonal flu. Then, Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by a Norwegian. If not for the Wuhan China virus, Trump's re-election would be a cakewalk. Yet some generals think that they, not the president, are the commander in chief. Later, do Hispanic lives matter to the democrats? A new Miami Herald poll shows Trump gaining traction as does the latest NBC poll. The truth is that Joe Biden did nothing for minority communities while he was VP or for 40 years before that. Afterward, Congressional candidate Alek Skarlatos, one of the hero's that helped topple terrorists that attacked a train in France, is running for Congress in Oregon. He highlighted policy differences between him and Rep. Peter DeFazio. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
