Of: bijna niets. Volg me op Instagram: @moordpodcast

Washington High School in Tulsa, he was forced to matriculate to the University of Pittsburgh because University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and the University of Tulsa did not allow Black players.Julius quickly transitioned from a walk-on to a scholarship player after averaging 20 points per game in his first month. He finished as one of only 34 players in the program's history to score 1,000 career points. The NBA's St. Louis Hawks picked Pegues in the fourth round of the 1958 draft, but he had to serve in the military as he was in the Air Force ROTC at Pitt.In Tulsa, he was best known for his work to memorialize Tulsa's 1921 Race Massacre and the history and culture of Black Tulsans through the John Hope Franklin Center for Reconciliation. His efforts laid the groundwork for the Greenwood Rising History Center.Julius served on the boards of the Tulsa NAACP, Tulsa Urban League, Tulsa Comprehensive Health Services, Family and Children's Services, Hutcherson Branch YMCA, Tulsa Housing Authority, and Tulsa Board of Education Human Relations Committee. Man Falls into Coma in 1921 and Wakes Up In A.D. 3906 This Is His Diary of Experience - Amazing True Time Travel StoryIn 1921, Paul Amadeus Dienach, a Swiss-Austrian teacher with fragile health, falls into a one-year-long coma. During this time, his consciousness slides into the future and enters the body of another man in 3906 A.D.When Dienach awakens from his coma, he finds himself back in 1922. Knowing that he doesn't have much time left, he writes a diary, recording whatever he could remember from his amazing experience: the mankind's history in the forthcoming centuries, from the nightmare of overpopulation and World Wars up until the world-changing globalisation, the radical new administration system, the colony on Mars and the next human evolutionary stage. Without any close friends and relatives to entrust, he doesn't say a word to anyone out of fear of being branded a lunatic. Before he dies, he hands his diary to his favourite student, George Papachatzis, later prominent Professor of Law and Rector of Panteion University of Greece. The diary circulates as hidden knowledge amongst high ranking masons in the lodges of Athens. In 1972, professor Papachatzis, despite an intense dispute, decides to publish Dienach's diary in Greek.Paul Dienach was not an author, poet, or professional writer. Rather, he was an ordinary man who kept a journal, never with the expectation that it would be published.Falls into Coma in 1921 Wakes Up In A.D. 3906 Amazing True Time Travel Story Paul Dienach Time Traveler Diary Mystery Future

CLASSIC MEETS COOLMy guest today is Barron Ryan: musician, artist, entertainer, and educator. His love for music has always been divided. The son of two musicians, he grew up in a house filled with the sounds of artists ranging from Mozart to Michael Jackson. So when it comes to his own performance, he's not content drawing on just one influence. He combines them all into a musical adventure that's vintage yet fresh, historical yet hip, classic yet cool.WHAT WE DISCUSSBarron and I start at his early childhood where he began playing piano at 4 years old. He shares the influence that both of his parents had on him. He tells about going to study at the University of Oklahoma and the difficulties of starting out as a performing music artist. We discuss the range of his projects from satirical rap to his original work for the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. You'll hear how some of the best things that have happened to him were born out of crisis. We end the conversation by talking about what is ahead. https://www.barronryan.comhttps://www.firstofitskind.nethttps://www.instagram.com/barroncp/https://www.thisistulsapodcast.comSupport the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/thisistulsa)

Scholars have labeled the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921 as one of the most horrific incidents of racial violence in U.S. history. But why has that history remained under wraps for so long? Historian Dr. Karlos Hill of the University of Oklahoma; and Scott Ellsworth, author of "The Ground Breaking," shed new light on the disaster. And with this racial attack as a backdrop, host Eddie Robinson chats with acclaimed violinist, Daniel Roumain, about the real reason why he was recently fired from a special centennial concert hosted by Tulsa Opera. The Opera's artistic director, Tobias Picker, also makes a guest appearance and responds to Roumain's accusations with some surprising revelations.

Despite the 2001 Commission's recommendation for reparations in the form of direct payments, the City of Tulsa continues forward with several plans to revitalize the Greenwood and North Tulsa area instead. While the city plans for its 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre Centennial commemoration, controversy swirls around the current Centennial Commission — a commission member and U.S. Representative challenged the legitimacy of President Joseph Biden's 2020 victory, Oklahoma's governor was ousted from the commission after signing a bill limiting race education, and a lawsuit for reparations against the city forges ahead.
