Today I am talking to Lelia Gowland, a married Southern woman with a literal white picket fence, who confronted her fears and her need for anonymity to very publicly embrace her queer and polyamorous identities and discover the beauty of deep connection and authentic self expression. You will hear us talk about how the polyamory landscape has evolved over the last decade or two, and how self acceptance of your personal identities, queer, polyamorous, non monogamous, whatever they are, can affect you. Lelia is a writer and a speaker who centers her work on authenticity. She's written for publications like Forbes, Huffington Post, and Harper Bazaar, and she speaks to organizations and individuals about leading with authenticity to create happier, more productive lives.
The secret to an easy, embodied, magnetic life is to stop doing anything that doesnt feel authentic to your soul. To be fully and courageously YOU in a world that tells you to be more like them. Thank you @Nick Zei for this interview
We often confuse numbing ourselves with feeling pleasure. We even have names that add to the confusion like, “comfort” foods, getting “high”, or a “trip.” Overeating, drinking alcohol, and taking drugs, however, are all ways of escaping reality and causing us more pain and suffering. Seeking empty pleasures like status, money, or reckless sex have the same result. Pleasure, on the other hand, takes us deep into our authentic feelings. Dr. Gottlieb defines pleasure as: “any experience that feels good…fills your body with delightful sensations, evokes warm feelings in your heart and positive thoughts in your mind, brings a smile to your lips, excites, amuses or satisfies, lifts your spirits or inspires a sense of well-being, meaning, and purpose.” He describes pleasure as a prism of experiences with four levels: physical (pleasures of the flesh), emotional (love, fun, and other positive social feelings), mental (like the delight of learning new ideas or the satisfaction of finding our purpose), and spiritual (including ecstasy, bliss, and peace of mind). Drawing upon his own life experiences, work as a healer, and insights from history, religion, philosophy, neuroscience, and mysticism, Dr. Gottlieb shows us how pleasure helps us live a fulfilling and meaningful life. Please join us Thursday to learn concrete steps for mastering the art of enjoying life.

This episode took us on a journey from "ego to eco and back again". We started at the planet ego, discussing how we explore our own earthly landscapes by e.g. discussing some psychology models and human studies on character traits and further measures. From there we switched to a wild rocket ride to explore other orbs in our galaxy, looking at interplanetary conflicts and finally landed with a deeper understanding how these different beings might acheive a shared flow: A united federation of planets that are approved by Jean-Luc Picard himself. At least that is our subjective belief ;-) OK, we see the (basic forms of) anxiety rising for every reader that is not really keen on Star Trek talk. You may remain seated cause that is not really part of the episode. Ok maybe one or two space references but that's it. We promise. So all you German listeners go grab your Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary now and enjoy our very personal view on "how to be more authentic in your life - including at work". Feedback, questions, etc. can be beamed into the orbit or send via mail to [post@dailyofthemonth.de](mailto:post@dailyofthemonth.de). Greetings earthling by the three space cadets **Chris, Joshua, Markus** **PS:** There will be sequel to this episode. We will be talking about this talk with a psychological consultant. The session will start soon. more info and media at: https://www.agile-podcast.de/blog/folge-9-authentisch-sein/

We have arrived at adolescence in our understanding of relationship—in other words, we have a long way to go. But, well, what do we expect? Only 150 years ago, we were still often arranging marriages. We arranged for a good dowry, good property, money, inheritance, prestige, even good teeth and good hips. So this thing of marrying someone we love is new, and we have only begun the work of understanding how to do it. But you know what happens typically in adolescence: we fall in love and out of love very quickly. Unfortunately, that's still where we are with this new understanding of marriage. But actually that process for the adolescent teaches him or her something about relationship—and so we are likewise learning. What are we learning? Tune in to find out how to have a healthy, happy, long-term relationship.
Turned away by the hypocrisy of those around you or even in the Church? In a sermon entitled “Authentic Christianity”, Pastor Don Modglin exposes our hearts and the hypocrisy that we can so easily fall into. Pastor Don calls us to living lives devoted to the Lord and living the authentic Christian life.
