It's a Winans Wednesday edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, as Jacob Winans(@Jacobwinans8) joins Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) to break down the Panthers and Lightning Preseason clash from the Amway Center in Orlando. This is the fourth time the Panthers and the Lightning face off in Central Florida in the preseason. This was a game full of fights, 10-minute misconducts and unsportsmanlike conducts. With not a lot of 5-on-5, the Panthers were still in this one. Although it was difficult for the Panthers to move the puck early on, the Panthers found their grove in the second. As the game when on, the connection tape to tape on the power play got better, despite not scoring. Sergei Bobrovsky does not give up a goal at 5 on 5(though very little time on it). We discuss how Mackie Samoskevich, Casey Fitzgerald and Anton Lundell looked as the Panthers had a mostly NHL ready team on Tuesday Night. The guys also discuss the ranking of the greatest players in Florida Panthers History, discussing number 20-16. We discuss this and more on today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast: Your Team, Every Day.Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

Sure, the Sabres have been done for about a month, but the Amerks season is over and now the real offseason discussion can begin in earnest. And hey, you know what, Lance and Joe run down how Jack Quinn, J-J Peterka, Peyton Krebs, and Casey Fitzgerald closed out the playoffs; they get a good laugh about how some thought Mattias Samuelsson was going to play anytime soon in the Calder Cup playoffs; UPL's hamstring status and how it may also how his much maligned development might hamstring NHL hopes; and what's the deal with Oskari Laaksonen and Arttu Ruotsalainen's future in red, white, blue, and gold? They also go over what the Amerks run means for the players involved and what's ahead for Rochester and how their lineup might have to look next season. Thanks as always to all of you listening -- thank you for the kind ratings and comments, too -- we'd sign you all to a one-way deal no matter what.Follow Lance and Joe on Twitter!Read Lance's work at The Buffalo NewsRead Joe's work at Noted HockeyBig thanks to our musician friends --Intro: MerlinBerlin -- "Orbit" - Find them on BandcampOutro: Chips 'N Cellos -- Boss Fight (Sabre Dance, Khachaturian) - Find them on Bandcamp

(0:00) The excitement of a great road trip for the Sabres got people talking playoffs. PLAYOFFS!? Fine, we'll be grinches about it -- but realistic grinches! NOTES AND COMMENTARY Joshua 5:9-12 The manna stops Luke 15:1-3, 11b-32 The Prodigal Son 2 Corinthians 5:16-21 The ministry of reconciliation Psalm 32 Trust, part four VOICE IN THE WILDERNESS: Casey Fitzgerald faithandwonder.com storydivine.com PSALMIST IN THE FIELD: Richard Bruxvoort Colligan psalmimmersion.com @pomopsalmist In this episode Casey Fitzgerald shares a compelling and convicting commentary on Joshua 5. Then we move into one of the most beloved stories of the Bible, the prodigal son (or is it the prodigal father?). 2 Corinthians is an important piece of our understanding of the mission of the church. We are reminded that we are in the ministry of reconciliation, and it is easy to see how others should reconcile. It is much harder when we are the ones needing reconciliation. Finally, Richard shares part four of this Lenten Psalm series on trust.

Preaching her last sermon at Westminster, Rev. Casey FitzGerald leaves us with three thoughts: 1) Do not be afraid--fear is the wrong story; 2) Surround yourself with Elizabeths--those who would name for you how God is working in your life. Be Elizabeths--do not withhold your joy in naming the way you see God working in the world; and 3) Learn and tell the stories, that, like Mary, you might recall the promises of God when you and the world need them most! The Scripture lesson is Luke 1:26–56.
For Jesus, the political is pastoral and the pastoral is political. Casey FitzGerald preaches from Matthew 21:23-32.
In our story for the day, our assigned lectionary text, Jesus drops the mic on 2017: It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles, but it is what comes out of the mouth that defiles. Jesus is clear--words matter. Casey FitzGerald preaches today from Matthew 15:10-28. The song included in the Scripture reading is "Listen in the Silence" by Linnea Good.
There are moments when we are called into spaces and places—or when places and spaces appear around us suddenly—where we feel helpless and overwhelmed by the need at hand. Into this world, we are called to see, to hear, to experience what is around us. And then we are called to speak good news, and even to heal. Rev. Casey FitzGerald preaches today on Matthew 9:35—10:23.

In today's story, Jesus finds his friends in difficult places, filled with fear and grief. In times of our own fear and grief, we often ask the same thing they did: “Why?” Jesus says, “Come, and see.” Casey FitzGerald preaches on John 11:1-54.
In her sermon a few weeks ago, Casey FitzGerald challenged us to re-engage with Scripture such that we might see the tension within it; between it and ourselves; and between it, ourselves, and our world. Today, she leads us in hearing a large piece of Scripture—three chapters from the gospel of Matthew—that our time in worship does not normally afford us to hear. Let anyone with ears, listen.
“I must confess that I am not afraid of the word "tension." I have earnestly opposed violent tension, but there is a type of constructive, nonviolent tension which is necessary for growth." (Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.) “Here is the Lamb of God who lifts up the sins of the world!” (John 1:29) On the weekend we celebrate and remember the life and work of Dr. King, we see in John’s gospel a Savior that makes the sins of the world visible before us. When we say we want to follow Jesus, do we understand what it is we’re going to see? How do we live with the tension that recognizing our sins brings us? Casey FitzGerald preaches on John 1:29-42.
"When we come to this place on Christmas Eve, we bring what is going on in our lives, what is going on in our families, and what is going on in our world, including its inherent sadness. Yet what we experience when we arrive here are words and music and silence and prayer and candlelight and harp that tell a story so transcendent that it reaches down from the heavens, lifts us into its arms, calls us by name, consoles and strengthens us, as it moves us to a new emotional and spiritual place." Rev. Larry Hayward preaches on Christmas Eve. Tonight's scripture lesson is Luke 1:26-38. The reading from W.H. Auden's "For the Time Being" was done by the Rev. Casey FitzGerald.
“Here’s the thing that we know as Christians, that we are called to know and live by: We can sit in darkness. We can be people who dwell in the dark, knowing that Jesus Christ is light enough. In Advent, we make way for this light—we prepare for this light, we welcome it—and it gets closer and closer to us.” Today’s Scripture includes “Christmas and Easter: A Story,” an adaptation of the Gospel of Luke arranged by the Rev. Dennis Dewey; Romans 13:8–14 (NRSV); and the “Prophecy Catena,” an adaptation of Jeremiah 33, Luke 21, and Romans 13 arranged by the Rev. Casey FitzGerald. Our worship leaders today are the Rev. FitzGerald, Heather West, and Dave Aland. Cover Art: Those Who Walked In Darkness © Jan Richardson. janrichardson.com.
"I wrote this sermon title--How Did We Get Here?--after the explosion in New York, after the bags were found in New Jersey, after the mall in Minnesota…in coming across vitriol being spewed against my Muslim brothers and sisters…with the image of refugees and their children scrolling across my mind. I wrote this sermon title--How Did We Get Here?--thinking about all the ways language is being used to hurt…before I watched a video about a town in West Virginia, a forgotten place largely comprised of poor whites trying to find their voice in the conversation of the day. I wrote this sermon title before the violence of this particular week unfolded: before the stories of two more black men, this time in Tulsa and Charlotte, killed at the hands of law enforcement. How did we get here?" Casey FitzGerald preaches today from Luke 16:19-31.
When it comes to dinner guests, Jesus ranks among the worst. The Pharisees practice hospitality by inviting Jesus to dinner, and he proceeds to tell a story about…the best way to host a dinner party. Jesus, as he tends to do, continues to disrupt our ways of thinking and our lives for the sake of the kingdom. Casey FitzGerald preaches today from Luke 14:1, 7–14 and Hebrews 13:1–8.
“Remember the Sabbath day, and keep it holy.” When Jesus heals a woman on the Sabbath, the church leaders react and the whole crowd rejoices. What does this healing tell us about Sabbath? What do we do when our insistence on right practice comes into conflict with the freedom that comes with Sabbath? The Rev. Casey FitzGerald preaches today from Luke 13:10-17.
Story Divine is back! Casey FitzGerald tells the story of Jesus' temptation and more. Story Prompts: 1) Tell a story about DESIRE. (How did that desire manifest in positive ways? Where did the temptation part of the desire creep in?) 2) Tell a story about a boundary you had to set--a "no" you had to say in order to focus on your primary "yes." (How did you do it? How did it make you feel? How was your life/ministry enhanced by it? Would you make the same choice now?) We will be talking to Lee Cipolla this week about his current movie coming out “The Shift” with Danny Glover, Leo Oliva and Casey Fitzgerald. Lee has been able to work all angles in the movie industry. He worked camera crew, cinematographer, written three titles, producer of two titles and Director of eight titles. The shift is about a 12 hour night shift in the ER. It is based around two nurses and the struggle with spiritual turmoil of what is right and wrong. They have a very emotional case about a young patient dying of cancer. This will bring them to impossible decisions and question all they believe.
