In a typewritten question left for the Wichita Police Department in January of 2005, Dennis Rader asked the cops, in writing, whether a floppy disk could be traced back to him. The question was inside an empty cereal box he had left for them in the bed of a pickup truck at a Home Depot parking lot. He signed it with his self-given initials. He asked them to be honest.The Wichita Police Department answered through a small classified ad in the Wichita Eagle. They told him no. A floppy disk could not be traced.That was not true.In the fifth and final chapter of True Crime Today's BTK investigation, host Tony Brueski walks through the trap Lieutenant Ken Landwehr had been building since March of 2004. The thirteen-year silence Rader broke when he could no longer tolerate being ignored. The eleven separate communications that followed. The eleven months of polite, formal responses through classified ads that fed Rader's hunger for attention while the task force quietly built its case.The episode covers the February 16, 2005, arrival of a purple Memorex floppy disk at KSAS-TV in Wichita. Dennis Rader was the council president of Christ Lutheran Church in Park City, Kansas, on the morning of February 25, 2005. The Wichita Police Department was, at the same moment, on its way to arrest him. The thing that had identified him as BTK was a metadata trace from a Microsoft Word document he had saved to a church computer in his role as council president.He had volunteered for the council. He had volunteered to print agendas. He had risen through the ranks to council president, the visible layperson at a small congregation. He had been doing both jobs for years. The killing and the church. The Cub Scout pack and the typed letters to the press. David feels the consequences God has brought upon him for his sin, and so he turns to God as the only Source of rescue from such consequences. Joseph takes seriously his vocation of caring for these men, particularly after they each have dreams that trouble them. Joseph tells the men that the interpretations belong to God and listens to each man in turn. The cupbearer's dream reveals that he will be restored to his position, while the baker's dream reveals that he will be executed. Three days later, these things came to pass, as Joseph had said. When a famine arose in the days of Isaac, the LORD specifically told Isaac not to go to Egypt. The LORD strengthened Isaac's faith by repeating the promise first given to Abraham. Nonetheless, as Isaac sojourned in the land of Abimelech, he repeated his father's deception of saying his wife was only his sister. Still, the LORD kept His promise to bless Isaac as he went in and out among the Philistines and felt their enmity toward him. Even as Isaac experienced the LORD's goodness temporally and spiritually, Isaac also experienced grief from his oldest son Esau, who married two pagan wives.  Rev. When three visitors come to Abraham's tent, he quickly shows them joyful and overflowing hospitality. These three are no ordinary visitors; this is the LORD and His angels who have come. As they eat the meal Abraham has served, the LORD serves Abraham in an even greater way. He promises that in about a year's time, He will give Abraham the promised child through Sarah. Israel's glory days have long come to an end, for their idolatry has killed them. Even now, they only compound sin upon sin as they become as fleeting as the idols they worship. The LORD reminds them who He is and what He has done as their Savior, yet they forget Him in arrogance. Therefore, the LORD will show Himself to them in judgment, and no king will be able to save them. Only the LORD can rescue them from the death they have earned for themselves, yet they refuse to repent. Psalm 124 is among the psalms of ascent, used by worshipers going to the temple in Jerusalem. Singing antiphonally with a leader, those who come to worship the LORD bless His name for His rescue from those who would have swallowed them up and washed them away. The LORD has sprung the trap that was set against His people, for as the Creator of all things, He comes to help His people. In our Lord Jesus Christ, the Church still prays these words in thanksgiving for His rescue from death and the grave. Rev. Jehoram, king of Israel, receives the backhanded compliment that he was only slightly better than his wicked father and mother. As Jehoram wants to keep receiving tribute from Moab, he allies with Jehoshaphat of Judah. They take the southern route to Moab in order to include Edom in their alliance, but run short of water. During the crisis, Jehoshaphat finally looks for the Word of the LORD from the prophet Elisha. Although Jehoram is unfaithful, Elisha faithfully proclaims God's Word for the sake of Jehoshaphat. The LORD provides water and brings defeat upon Moab, just as the prophet foretold. Yet the human sacrifice performed by the king of Moab leads to the LORD's wrath being poured out, and the destruction comes to an end. In the midst of so much sin, Elisha stands as an example of faithfully seeking after the Word of the LORD.  Rev. Andrew Belt, pastor at Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield, WI, joins host Rev.
