Likely feeling alone and forgotten in an Egyptian prison, two dreams will change Joseph's life forever. However, they're not his dreams, but those of two imprisoned officials of Pharoah. We witness how God works even through bitter disappointment and suffering to accomplish His kingdom purposes. Joseph's trials remind us that waiting on the Lord's timing isn't wasted time, it's an act of faith. This episode explores how dreams, dungeons, and divine delays all point us forward to Christ the true interpreter of God's will and the faithful “rememberer” of His people.   The Rev. Max Phillips, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church in Bouton and Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden, Iowa, Executive Director of Lutheran Family Service, and CEO of Perry Lutheran Homes, joins the Rev. Dr. Phil Booe to study Genesis 40.  To learn more about Christ Lutheran Bouton, visit www.facebook.com/CLCBouton. To learn more about Zion Lutheran, visit www.facebook.com/ZionLutheranOgdenIa. Genesis isn't just the start of the Bible; it's the foundation of everything. Creation, sin, judgment, grace, covenant, and promise all take root in this remarkable book. The stories are ancient, but their truths are eternal. In this new series from Thy Strong Word, Pastor Phil Booe and his guests walk verse by verse through Genesis, exploring how God reveals Himself as Creator, Judge, and Redeemer. From the grandeur of the cosmos to the struggles of ordinary families, Genesis introduces us to a God who speaks, acts, and keeps His promises. So, whether you've read it a hundred times or are just now cracking it open for a serious look, this series will help you see Genesis with fresh eyes—and a deeper faith. Thy Strong Word, hosted by Rev. Dr. Phil Booe, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church of Luverne, MN, reveals the light of our salvation in Christ through study of God's Word, breaking our darkness with His redeeming light. Each weekday, two pastors fix our eyes on Jesus by considering Holy Scripture, verse by verse, in order to be strengthened in the Word and be equipped to faithfully serve in our daily vocations. Laura Jane Bouton is one of the metalsmith's I've had the pleasure of being in community with for some time now, but there was so much I really didn't know about Laura. I was simply thrilled when she agreed to share some time with me for a long overdue conversation. Laura's mother was a metalsmith and her son studied goldsmithing while they lived abroad in Italy, but it wasn't until she could feel her life as she knew it heading in a different direction that she began exploring the craft. Feeling empowered by the jewelry she was creating, she took a leap to create a business and life that she could be in control of. Laura and I talk about our shared love and emotional connection of creating one of a kind pieces and the personal fulfillment that comes from building a business in the arts. Laura shares how she navigates selling on Etsy as well as Shopify, why she loves teaching others, the unique challenges and rewards of being a self-taught artist, and of course so much more.  Follow Laura... Dr. Chris Bouton, the Senior VP and Head of Artificial Intelligence at Certara, is exploring applying generative AI to drug discovery and development to improve efficiency and identify novel therapeutics across various use cases. The focus is on developing specialized secure AI models to integrate internal data with the Certara platform. Generative AI is particularly useful in areas with high specificity, such as antibody design and mRNA therapeutics, where modeling the underlying biology is crucial.  Chris explains, "Certara helps pharmaceutical and biotech companies throughout their process, from early basic research to regulatory filing and beyond. And we're quite a unique company in that we are not developing our own drugs but instead helping companies develop their drugs. And it's something like over 90% of all FDA approvals are projects that, in some way, shape, or form, Certara has helped with." "Our philosophy is to start with the use case. Generative AI is an incredible novel technology. There are many different ways to apply it, but we're interested in how to turbocharge or otherwise ameliorate and create efficiencies in a wide range of the use cases that Certara works on. What we're doing is taking a look at each of those kinds of use cases, trying to identify whether generative AI is useful in those use cases. Then, build out technology-driven solutions that are a combination of gen AI plus services, plus data, plus other software for each of those use cases." #Certara #GenerativeAI #HealthAI #DrugDiscovery #DrugDevelopment certara.com Download the transcript here

Can we restore movement in patients with spinal cord injuries while also bringing back the sensation they've lost? In this episode of the BCI Award Neurocareers podcast series, we dive deep into this critical question with Prof. Chad Bouton, a pioneer in neuroengineering and bioelectronic medicine. Spinal cord injuries often lead to permanent loss of movement and sensation, leaving millions worldwide with limited options for recovery. While various treatments have shown promise in restoring movement, sensation restoration remains a significant hurdle. That's where Prof. Chad Bouton and his team at Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research come in. They've developed a revolutionary technology called the Double Neural Bypass (DNB), which directly interfaces the brain, body, and spinal cord to restore lasting movement and sensation in people with paralysis. This groundbreaking work has earned them a place as one of the 12 final nominees for the prestigious BCI Award 2023. Prof. Bouton, VP of Advanced Engineering at Northwell Health, Professor, and Managing Director of the Center for Bioelectronic Medicine, has dedicated his career to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in neuroprosthetics and biomedical technology. His innovations have enabled the first paralyzed person to regain movement through brain activity alone and also advanced cancer detection methods, among other achievements. With over 70 international patents and numerous accolades, including being named Inventor of the Year at Battelle, Prof. Bouton is a leading figure in neuroengineering. In this episode, Prof. Bouton shares the story behind the Double Neural Bypass, how it works, and the incredible potential it holds for the future of neuroprosthetics. He also offers insights into his career journey and provides valuable advice for those aspiring to innovate. Whether you're fascinated by cutting-edge technology, interested in neuroprosthetics, or simply curious about the future of medical advancements, this episode is a must-listen. Tune in and discover how the Double Neural Bypass could change the lives of millions with paralysis.
