We Should Live, Love and Laugh Scripture References:John 1:1-14John 3:1-21Key Points:1. To live we must die to flesh and be born again in righteousness,  then we seek God first everyday and watch Him give us the very best.1 Corinthians 13:1-8Exodus 20:1-6Luke 10:25-282.  The definition of love is very hard, so we can only do it by putting our faith in the Lord, but to love is very important because true living is generated from true loving.Proverbs 17:22Psalm 126:1-6Ecclesiastes 8:14-15Proverbs 28:14Luke 6:213.  We should eat drink and be merry while hanging out with friends and crazy church family, but the biggest laughter in our hearts come from knowing we will live with Jesus for all eternity. Revelation 5:8-13

“You speak life—I try to speak life every time I open my mouth,” says One Single Love Rose, and from there this episode blooms into a living archive of Legacy Black Detroit: four generations from Black Bottom to the East Side, Creole kitchens to jazz guitars, a mother born a “call bearer” whose veil marked prophetic gifts, and a daughter who learned in second grade that “words have power—to hurt or heal.” Rose traces family roots from Shreveport red clay to McClellan Street porches, then walks us into Detroit's spoken-word renaissance, where she evolved from page to stage—touring Europe, mentoring “great-mentees,” and crafting sets that move “from the bedroom to the boardroom.” She breaks down playful, sensual erotics done “with love,” the discipline of listening for spirit at 3 a.m., and why young writers must “write for everybody so you can go everywhere.” It's an irresistible, funny, soulful ride that ties Black Bottom's vanished jazz bars to the future of Detroit's cultural power—proof that when Detroit women speak life, the city's ancestors answer back, and tomorrow's artists find their cue. Indian writer Jiddu Krishnamurti famously said, “It is no measure of health to be well-adjusted to a profoundly sick society”, and rightly so. Stress is everywhere, perhaps becoming the biggest crisis of our lifetime. While any health concern is taken seriously, mental health is often ignored. The problem is so big that it costs businesses Rs 1,10,000 crore annually. Clearly, there is a huge gap between awareness and action, along with the internalised shame in the victim. But what can be done to reduce this? In this episode, we are joined by Dr Shyam Bhat, Chairperson of Live Love Laugh, to delve deep into the practical ideas that companies can adopt to bridge this lacuna. He explains how there is no one size fits all approach. Listen in!

IntroThis week I go free flow on a topic that I believe is important right now - recognising and knowing that you matter, your contribution matters, your work matters, your life matters...Feeling a bit lost or like your life doesn't matter? Well, buckle up, because we're diving deep into the big questions today! I'm Heather Masters, and in this episode, we're tackling the essentials of life: Did you live? Did you love? Did you matter? It's a stream of consciousness kinda vibe as we explore the chaos of our world and how it's affecting our sense of value and connection. Whether you're feeling isolated or just need a little pep talk to remind you that you absolutely matter, this episode is packed with reflections and insights that'll help you shine a light on your own worth. So grab your favourite cuppa and snack, kick back, and let's get contemplative. The Details:Ever felt like you're just going through the motions of life? Like, did I even really live today? Well, Heather Masters sure knows that feeling all too well! In this enlightening episode of the Choosing Happy Podcast, she opens up a can of contemplative worms—asking all the juicy questions about our existence. It's not just a casual chit-chat; it's a heartfelt exploration that nudges listeners to reflect on their lives. Heather's stream of consciousness takes us through her own journeys of love, loss, and the quest for meaning. She expertly weaves in her experiences of being a caregiver, a traveller, and a mom, making it relatable to anyone who's ever paused and wondered, “What's the point?” Throughout the episode, we are reminded that life can sometimes throw us curveballs that make us feel isolated, especially during tough times. It's a wild world out there, and Heather captures the essence of that chaos while also shining a light on the importance of self-worth. She digs into the idea that while the world seems to reward the wrong things, we need to flip the script on how we view our value. With her playful humour, she encourages us to take an honest inventory of our lives, to see where we have lived, loved, and truly mattered. And guess what? It doesn't take a grand gesture to make a difference—sometimes it's the little things that count! As we wrap up this thought-provoking chat, Heather leaves us with a powerful message: we matter! Your existence is a beautiful miracle, and it's time to celebrate that. So if you're ready to feel uplifted and inspired, tune in for a dose of positivity and laughter that will remind you to cherish your journey and choose happiness every single day. Trust me, you won't want to miss it!Takeaways: In a world where chaos reigns, remember that your life has value and purpose. Feeling isolated is a common challenge, but you are not alone in this struggle. Contemplate your existence: have you lived, loved, and truly mattered to others? It's crucial to audit where you give your energy; keep your cup full, my friend! Value yourself first, because you can only help others when you're at your best. Life is a wild ride; embrace the journey and find joy in your unique experiences. Send us a textWhat happens when your brain betrays you, plunging you into a reality "not conceived on earth"? Mental health coach Dale Walsh takes us on his remarkable 40-year journey through schizophrenia, from his first psychotic break at Dartmouth College to developing a revolutionary approach helping families navigate this challenging condition.Dale's story begins with a poetic introduction to his experience: "Hi, I'm God was a joke I made after killer Dartmouth toke..." This humorous yet profound glimpse into his psychotic break sets the stage for his deeply personal insights. Unlike clinical definitions focused on hallucinations and delusions, Dale offers a simpler, more powerful definition of schizophrenia: living in a reality completely disconnected from our shared world. The heart of our conversation explores Dale's innovative Live Love method—an eight-step program helping families communicate effectively with loved ones while maintaining their own mental health. Through Learn, Integrate, Validate, Explore, Listen, Observe, Value, and Express, caregivers develop tools to navigate the complex terrain of supporting someone with schizophrenia without losing themselves in the process.Dale doesn't shy away from difficult topics—medication compliance, drug interactions, psychotic anger, and treatment resistance. He introduces listeners to "agnosognosia," a neurological condition preventing many with schizophrenia from recognizing their illness, comparing it to asking a blind person to read. This single insight transforms how we understand treatment resistance. Most powerfully, Dale shares his moment of breakthrough—what he calls "the death of Dale"—when his entire identity structure collapsed, allowing him to finally see his illness clearly. This profound experience reveals why schizophrenia isn't simply about having "bad thoughts" but involves fundamental structures of perception and identity.Whether you're supporting a loved one with schizophrenia or simply seeking to understand mental health more deeply, Dale's journey offers hope, practical wisdom, and four essential qualities for the journey: love, hope, faith, and patience. To learn more or schedule a free 45-minute consultation with Dale, visit www.dewlivelove.net or www.calendly.com/DaleCoach55.Want to be a guest on Living the Dream with Curveball?
